Baby let's have a party
Who: Kanaya Maryam and Equius Zahhak
When: Valentine's day, about midday/midafternoon
Where: Some discreet out of the way tea establishment where Equius can break everything without attracting too much attention
Summary: Two polite people having a very modest and polite tea party. Possibly with ridiculous hats and knickerbockers?
Warnings: General trollish discussions.
They had always had a rather awkward yet amiable connection. She was polite to Equius, and he in turn was polite to her. Of course that was because he believed that she knew her proper place, and she'd seen no reason to contest that impression of her (it wasn't exactly untrue). They might never be close, but they would never be hostile, either.
And she could tell that he was lonely. She was, too, in the days after Rose had disappeared. Of course she'd been lucky that she'd simply lost a friend, and not her moirail, and plenty of her closest still remained to her, but it was enough to make her think that perhaps he'd appreciate a gesture on her part. They didn't have to be close for her to want to help!
So she'd arranged for a small tea-party in some out of the way shop, early in the afternoon when it might be easier for him to arise, without either of them running the risk of dealing with Canadians. And then she'd discreetly paid the owner of the tea shop for a set of her cups and china, on the very likely chance it all got horribly smashed and/or disfigured before the end of the outing, and settled herself in to waiting with a terrible romance novel that she would immediately try to hide as soon as he showed up. Victorian. There seemed to be a very intriguing amount of swooning and ripping of bodices that she was not sure Equius would ever appreciate.

BACKTAG FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE PART W/E
So the sight of unearthly skin and candy-colored horns in the corner was a welcome relief. Equius threaded his way over to Kanaya's table, careful not to bump into any of the waitstaff.
"Greetings, Maryam. I commend you for arranging this meeting." A sanctimonious head bow would probably be appropriate. He didn't. He took his little seat as if it were a very lavish and intimidating throne. For a moment Equius swiveled his head around to stare at the other shop goers, lips twisting into a deeper frown than usual. There was far too much pairing off and chaste smooching going on for him.
"Is there any reason the humans are behaving even more shamefully lascivious than usual?"
TOTES COOL MY FRIEND
"This is their romantic holiday," she said, pretending to sip her tea. It was missing the essential ingredient- blood- to make it palatable, but no sense in not keeping up the appearance. "I believe on this day it is perfectly acceptable to engage in whatever gestures seem best suited to express their feelings."
