Gaara arrived in the forest, eyes scanning the area without much concern. He was waiting for his opponent, senses open in case she attempted some form of sneak attack. His sand would undoubtedly protect him in either case, but she might wish to fight without the use of powers. Not that he would care what she wanted if she started throwing knives at his back.

Learning has nothing to do with it, she wants to say. Battle is all she's ever known, it's who and what she is. But letting on would be akin to boasting, and she doesn't want to lose her concentration. Instead, a knee comes up for his stomach.

His hand shifts to block, the sand rising up as well. He has no intention of letting her win so easily.

The attacks are merciless, and she shows no sign of slowing down. One of the perks of being an immortal: unless confronted with iron, she very may well be able to continue this assault for quite a while.
