Oh, can't you see that you were born to stand by my side
Who: Diego Armando, Mia Fey and guests.
When: Saturday March 2nd
Where: Siren's Port District Courthouse, then onto the S.S. Kahve.
Summary: Going to thechapel court house and they're gonna get married.
Warnings: Gratuitous amounts of love and waff.
Some might say that two lawyers choosing to marry in a court house was perhaps a little uninspired, but there was a certain appropriateness to it that bordered on amusing. For a couple who had experienced more than a fair few dramatic moments in their relationship inside the walls of a courthouse, it seemed only fitting that they buck their trend of bad luck and make it a venue for something positive.
At three fifteen, the doors to the courtroom reserved for the Armando-Fey wedding are opened, guests are invited to take their seats, the bride is waiting in an ante room checking and double checking that everything is perfect and she's not forgotten anything while the groom is taking furtive sips from a coffee flask in the main room, eager to get the show on the road.

Re: Reception
When Daedalus comes over to offer his congratulations and calls her by her new name, she laughs and greets him with a quick kiss on the cheek after she shakes his hand.
The gently playful tone in the young doctor's voice is familiar and welcome, but Mia's not entirely sure what exactly his joke means. Two lawyers?
"Well I'm pretty happy with just the one to be honest..."

Mostly because he wasn't sure, but he thought it might have been a reference to another lawyer. A prosecutor, actually, who used to work in Siren's Port and happened to go by a dramatic name. And here he was fairly certain he'd told Daedalus not to mention that guy.
So his was the gape that only a groom who is about to be throttled to death on his wedding day can gape.

"Well, didn't you catch the crackerjack bonus with this prize, then!"
Oh, but surely, among all the precious things a new bride should know about her husband, the ironic story of where his liver donation was sourced from should have come up at some point before now?
If not, well-
He's really doing Mia the bigger favor, and quite possibly forging her perfect opening for later. Diego may hate him for it over the course of the next three minutes, but other secret-keeping and big news will be easier to drop once the weight of Pheonix Wright's saving organ transplants are already out on the table.
At least Diego's mouth hadn't been full. He really didn't want to hear Franz complaining all the way to the dry cleaners about coffee stains on his twice-worn suit.
"...you never shared that story, Diego?"
no subject
"I'm... not sure I get it."
no subject
He squeezed her hand, desperately hoping that Daedalus has the good sense not to tell his wife about the time he was crazy and had a heartless, vengeful alter-ego.
no subject
"Your husband's got some defense attorney in him. In his liver, to be more precise, though it's mostly his own cells by now. I'll bet you never thought you'd wed a bit of Pheonix Wright, hm?"
no subject
Mia is stopped from saying 'a defense attorney' by the revelation that that is not what the young doctor meant, and he is in fact being extremely literally.
"...I- Uh- I did what?"
no subject
However, it wasn't what he thought Daedalus meant, so he is more than a little bit relieved. This awkward is a lot easier to deal with than that awkward.
"My liver donor..." he drifts off. "It was Wright. I guess I forgot to mention."
no subject
He beams despite the strange tension of the moment, delighted at the surprise on Mia's face, and buoyantly supportive of the couple.
(Maybe Roxas should not have served him up a red eye. Daedalus is on the chipper side of perky with an extra shot of espresso in him.)
"But the two of you are an even better match, if I do say so- and I couldn't be happier for you." He looks between them with a smile that can barely contain itself, especially for the bride, although he resists the urge to wink. He says nothing about the appointment confirmation for Tuesday, not yet. "For all of your future together."
no subject
"I'm sure he'll tell me all about it when we get home," she says smoothly, returning that smile of the doctor's with one of her own. "But thank you, I think we're going to have a pretty good time with this marriage business, right dear?"
no subject
"Thanks, Doc," he says, the smile coming back to his face. "I'm glad you could make it. And I'm grateful for everything you've done for me... but you've heard that a dozen times from me, I'm sure."
no subject
...Alright, so his humor bordered on morbid, and it wore oddly on the cheeky, boyish face of Dr. Yumeno. In a few more decades, crustier and wearier on the outside to match, it might be a better fit. But that's one of the reasons why he'd hit it off so well with Mr. bitter-and-dark, who was set quite a bit beyond his years by the ordeal of his near death and recovery.

"I don't think he's quite got the curves to fill this particular gown out," she chuckles, "but you never know, we could see how he manages it later. I'll have to show you the pictures next time I see you."
She winks conspiratorially, knowing full well when that will be. Then, because the last thing she wants is grounds for a divorce so soon into a marriage, she tiptoes up and plants a kiss on Diego's cheek. It's all fun and games, but he seems rattled by the revelation nonetheless.
