Tea for Two or Three
Who: Hattie, Sheila, and possibly Ella, if she so desires!
When: February 19th, Early Afternoon
Where: Sector 5, at a very lovely, very sedate coffee housethat won't be sedate for long.
Summary: Sheila's been promising Hattie tea.
Warnings: squeaky clean!
Tea, once a foreign concept to Sheila rather before her time, has flourished to become her favorite time of the day. The table, lined with a lace curtain, has a small pot of plain black leaf tea steaming away in a red china pot at the center, and is ringed with several dishes of sweet buns, small cakes, and a variety of cookies.
Sheila wears a simple dress of pink that's a season too light; she shivers slightly as she slips into, adjusting the soft suede strap of her pink heels. She doesn't look out of place among these people anymore - and she doesn't mind being marked as different when among them when she speaks and is made different.
She awaits Hattie, fingers steepled, watching her pot of tea steam.

It's so hard being classy.
Hattie arrived into the shop, looking good in an orange turtleneck, black pants and shoes under a designer winter coat and scarf. And she did so at a brisk pace, clearly eager to get out of the cold! "I really can't stand this season sometimes," she says aloud, closing the door behind her while unraveling her scarf, "It's simply ridiculous."
The young blonde looked around Sheila, and would beeline to the other woman while looking around. She's deciding whether this is a place for rich people or poor people, since she didn't research beforehand.

"Tis a fair sight better than spending it within the chill walls of a castle," she points out. "Well met, Hattie."
The shop falls somewhere in the middle of the class line, to Sheila's reckoning: it's clean and beautifully ordered, and the food and tea smell incredible.

Upon seeing Sheila, the blonde did smile. "Sheila, it's been quite some time. You're looking.." Pink. Very pink. ".. Well."
She seemed to accept the surroundings, and after removing her coat and setting it about the back of the chair, she took a seat, "Tell me about it, I couldn't imagine what it'd be like being stuck in tht storm in a cold castle. What was it, five days or some such? Terrible. Simply terrible. How did you survive it?"
no subject
Sheila does pick up on the slight hesitation of Hattie's voice. She manages a smile. "As are ye. Quite..." gaudy "Stylish!"
She takes another drought from her cup of tea. "The only way I might - shut myself away with a heater and a tome."
no subject
Wait a minute. Did she say 'tome'? That stunned Hattie into silence for a moment, then she shook her head, "There are no amount of novels that would keep me sane for five days. No shopping. No spas. No manicures. And I got bored of Ella." She notices the tea, giving it a curious look, "So.. What blend is this?"
no subject
Yep, tome! There was also lots of tea and sewing - all things she loathed once, but ones she finds comfort in when the world dumps a flood of snow on her, apparently. "La, I am surprised ye did not do injury to one another."
no subject
Her lips drew inward a moment, then she smiled, "Oh, that wasn't bad at all.. So yes, it's really trial and error in a way, tough honest clerks play an important part as well. You have to know when they speak the truth, or just want your money." nod.
"So, I believe I've heard your boss on the network before; apparently he's quite wealthy. Are you his personal secretary?"
no subject
"Aye - and I hath more help than most with this."
Her look turns more eager at Hattie's mentioning Lee once more. "Aye - I am to assist Lee - I believe he is to be my sole charge."
no subject
Hattie nodded her head afterward, she recognized the name, "Your sole char- Your boss?" she asks, seeming to need clarification, "You must be excited, he's quite a handsome and powerful man!"
no subject
She bites through the surface of the bun once more, firmly. "Aye, my boss," she declared. "And Lee art a fine man in truth."
no subject
She seems quite happy to talk about Lee, "Oooh is he? He does have that air about him even though I didn't meet him in person. I'm sure if you get in good with him you'll make some really good contacts! So." she leans in closer, obviously interested, "What do you have to do for him?"
no subject
She chuckles lightly. "Tis but the learning of programs and the filing away of information, Hattie, and I fer 'tis little more."
no subject
The blonde seems a bit disappointed by the bit afterward, "Well.. You never know, perhaps something more grand will come along once you've spent enough time there. So when you say 'learning programs', do you have to watch television? That doesn't sound so bad."
no subject
Sheila lifts her shoulders. "T'will certainly be a change from scraping to make my meals." She takes a drought of tea and shakes her head, swallowing quickly. "Nay, Hattie - they art computer programs that teach one how to manage an office."
no subject
"Ah, yes, computers I've heard of those. I admit I'm a bit surprised you've landed a profession involving those. Though then again, you are quite talented with your fingers, aren't you?" She refers to Sheila's sewing but, take it as you will. "How were you convinced to take such a position?"
no subject

As for Lee, "That's sweet." She does remember Sheila talking about having another love interest, but she'd be really eager to see if something ended up blossoming between her and Lee. A sordid love affair in the work place? MROWL!
"Oh goodness where do I even start? Well, I go to the gym still, and I have a useless cat. Oh, and I was on a -wonderful- date on Valentine's with a man named Vincent Nightray. He agreed to help me become a Princess! And he's -so- handsome.." Hattie seems to grow incresingly breathless with each word. "That, however, is just between you and me."
no subject
And no, Hattie, Not yet
though she did see that public NV post of his which she'll Never Forget."Doest thy cat pair well with Ella's menagerie?" she wonders. She smiles and tilts her head. "I shalt not breathe a word."
no subject
Afterward she beams in approval to Sheila's silence, "Excellent. Though what are you talking about? The beast that Ella keeps?" the blonde huffs with a roll of her eyes, "I hate that thing, I honestly can't figure out why Ella is so fond of that vicious, bloodthirsty pet. Well, when it eats her, -then- she'll know better, won't she?"
Hattie shakes her head and takes a deeper drink of her tea. "As far as I know they get along all right, but I try to keep him away from that thing; I don't want him getting eaten."
no subject
"Aye. I take it ye're no fan of it." She shakes her head. "Lucifer is a scrappy one - with the dignity of the barn toms I once knew. he shall survive unscathed, I do believe."
no subject
She does brighten at the mention of her cat, "He's a khao manee, you know. A very rare breed. Eyes like diamonds. Though.. Hmn, I suppose he is. Honestly I've been disappointed that he can't talk. I really thought he could, so he's actually a little boring. But he's rare, I should hope he survives!" oh Hattie. You are so spoiled.
"Do you have any pets?"
no subject
Sheila absorbs information about Lucifer's breed with dry interest. "I suppose he makes up for his boringness by being mischievous," she suggests playfully. "Nay, I fear I lack a small beast of my own - at home there were the castle mousers, and my mare, Alabaster, though I was not oft allowed to ride far from the castle with her."
no subject
At the mention of mischief, that does bring a smile to Hattie's lips as she nods in approval, "Well yes, I suppose it does. Though I'm rarely around when he acts up. I suppose I'm a bit jaded because.. Well really, pets aren't much of a status symbol as they were back in our time. -Everyone- has them now, so you're not really missing out."
She then gasps, impressed, "A -mare-? That's so amazin-" She's cut off by a loud beeping of her NV from her bag, making her blush a bit. Hattie seems torn on whether she should ignore it or not.
no subject
She smirks against her cup. "Ye've a gentleman caller?" so to speak.
no subject
"Well, speaking of things we tolerate that displeases us.. One of my foolish companions needs my assistance." the blonde says with a roll of her eyes. The NV is snapped shut, the woman giving another smile. "I'm sorry, I should be on my way to straighten this out, but it's been a pleasure. We really must do it again!"
no subject
She'll leave the table later, once she's had her fill of tea and the last bit of teacake.
