Kevin was running a little late. He hadn't expected his final assignment of the day to go so horribly wrong.

He tucked his hand back into his pocket, curling it around the lump there and pushed open the door to the deli, panting. He used his free hand to shove hair out of his face. There she was!

He wove through the crowd and headed toward her. "Beggin' ya pardon Miss Snow, didn't mean t'keep ya waitin'. Somethin' came up at work an' I hadta stay after." He slid into the booth, carefully untucking his hand.

Kevin blinked. "Beggin' ya pardon, Miss Snow." He said softly. "I didn't mean t'bring up bad memories."

"It's okay. That's really not one of the worst things I've heard of," Snow smiled. "Some stories are better then others."

"Gotta be a bit odd, knowin' folks know ya life's story like a fairy tale." Kevin pushed his fries around on his plate. "Gotta be hard t'live up t'that... leastways that's what I been told."
