Moving Day

Who: Eric Slingby, Grell Sutcliff, and William T. Spears
When: Back dated to the evening of the 23rd
Where: William/Grell's apartment to Tower Apartments
Summary: Eric is moving back into Tower Apartments, per his new job as a greeter and their re-opening.


"At least I'll have my own apartment again." Eric muttered to himself.

He hadn't acquired much. The clothes he was wearing when he arrived were ruined. All he has are some toiletries and some changes of clothes he got from the greeter who found him the first time.

He throws them into a red cloth bag he found near Grell's room, and looks around their apartment for anything they left.

"So, um..." he calls. "If I leave anything let me know and I'll come pick it up." He makes a note to himself to get some laundry detergent and some disinfectant. anything left in Grell's possession unattended would surely need to be taken care of.

He shivered a little and swung the bag up to his shoulder.

Unfortunately we do not get special privileges simply for handling death on a daily basis. This is especially true here, in this city. We are practically mortals here, so I suggest you get used to the idea that death could be around the corner for any one of us.

[ It has already happened to Grell, he was literally ripped to shreds by...William's not even sure what. And apparently William died once before, as well. Though he remembers nothing of it. ]

The point is, she fails us. Getting reaped by another shinigami or taken by a demon is one thing... Thorns are another thing entirely.

Our relationship has nothing to do with work. Nor will it ever. If we were back in London, there would be no relationship to begin with. Things would remain as they were.

I'm glad I'm not in the apartment when he hears that.

[ Too late! Grell has actually picked that moment to emerge from the bedroom (hey, getting fabulous takes time!). He is standing there, transfixed and open-mouthed, staring at William. ]

[makes popcorn]

[ Still grumping, he doesn't notice Grell has entered the room! ]

Whether he likes it or not, he knows very well that my job consumes far too much of my time to even consider what we have going on here.

[deathknellgrell]

[ Grell throws back his head and emits an awful, ear-splitting WAIL! ]

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

[ochitashinigami]

[Turns down the com speaker.]

[ William winces slightly and turns to frown back at Grell. ]

What are you yelling for?

[ Cruel and oblivious. ]

[deathknellgrell]

B-because of what you--

[ Eric's sniggering distracts Grell; he glances over. ]

YOU!

[ He's a distraction-- ]

You put him up to it, it's your fault he said that!

[ --and a welcome scapegoat. Grell rushes Eric, fists swinging! ]

[Eric ducks neatly, but still manages to catch a glancing blow at his temple.]

Ah! Ow! Hey! Not my fault you scarlet idiot!

Stop.

[ William grabs hold of Grell's hair, yanking him backwards. ]

Calm down. Honestly, what is wrong with you?

[deathknellgrell]

[ Grell had been going back for round two when --YANK!

He paws the air, still scratching at Eric - who is fortunately out of reach! ]

GAAAAAAAAAH!

What IS wrong with me?

You just said you'd choose your work. Over ME!

In what way are you surprised by this?

[He sees the scratching, but William has the deranged redhead under control, so he's nonplussed.]

[ William loosens his grip, but only slightly. ]

You know how time consuming my job is. I would not be able to give you the same attention as I do here.

[deathknellgrell]

That's not what you said! You said no relationship!

[ Still struggling; but still held fast. ]

And you shut your mouth, Eric!

What would you do if Alan said the same? If he said no relationship? What would you do then, hmmmm~?

Alan and I don't have a relationship. We're best friends.

Besides, he wouldn't...

William wouldn't either, if he actually cared about you.

[ William shoots his icy glare at Eric. He's seriously contemplating letting Grell go and do as he wishes with Eric, after that comment. ]

Do not speak about me as if you know what I am thinking or feeling.

[deathknellgrell]

[ Grell has been squealing and whimpering the whole time he's been held; and when Eric says, "if he actually cared about you," he lets out a howl! ]

LET ME GO!

Cruel man!

[ He says this not in his usual teasing manner; he is sobbing freely. ]

That you could just f-forget about me so easily!

[Eric feels a pang of remorse at Grell's misery. It's a rather sibling-like fight... the contradictory desire to hurt without truly seeing the other in pain. Now that Grell is...

He gives William a cool look at being chided. But, he stays quiet.]
