Who: Rimudo, Takiko, and that Hitsugaya guy
When: February 20 or so?
Where: Roaming the streets on a day of shopping
Summary: Takiko needs girly things and drags Rimudo out. Hitsugaya notices a surprising resemblance to someone from his own life.
Warnings: Probably swearing. ^^;

This was not what Rimudo had wanted to do for the day. Trailing Takiko through stores of clothing that was perhaps even more unfamiliar to him than it was to her (was that a see-through shirt?) was boring at best, horrific at worst. True to form, he'd kept a running irritable commentary on everything they ran across (shiny leather pants??), drawing glares from no less than four salesladies thus far.

To add to his indignation, one of them had gotten her revenge by squirting him with a particularly noxious cologne, calling it a "free sample." He could still smell it in his nostrils even after a trip to the restroom to wash the foul stuff off.

He was still snorting quietly, twitching his nose as he left the store, sending a baleful glare behind him as the moving doors slid shut. At least there was air out here on the street . . . and with any luck, some lunch.

While Takiko was used to getting through days at a time now with only one outfit, it didn't mean she had to do that all the time. Especially now when she was in a place with so many different western types of clothing and they had some money to spare. Not that Takiko wanted to go wild with foreign clothing, but she couldn't say she wasn't intrigued.

Which was why she had dragged Rimudo along with her to do her shopping. It wasn't really her money after all, and she wasn't about to go on a spending spree without knowing how much exactly they could afford. But mostly, she just wanted the company.

And despite all of his grumbling, Takiko was having a good time. Her utter lack of knowledge about what she was buying caught the attention of many of sales rep, but at least now she had found items she could use and would be comfortable in. With bags in hand, she left the shop not too far behind her companion. He still looked disgruntled from the fragrance counter woman's assault on him. Though in actuality.... it was kind of funny.

"Where to next?" she asked. She'd picked everything so far, she might as well let him have some say in where the day went.

It was business as usual, really. Wake up, go out and pick up a few things that they were low on at the house. Nothing that Hitsugaya particularly minded.

Except when store clerks tried to pat him on the head. He wasn't a damned child, and liked to think that he looked less like one these days. Even though that had come with its own set of problems.

Nevertheless, his scowl was no deeper than usual as he walked down the street; he was far too mature to let such minor things bother him for long. People were just idiots, was all.

But then he saw something up ahead that made him just stop and . . . stare.

Hinamori? But when . . . He would have sensed . . . That was . . .

Some measure of reason managed to reassert itself. That wasn't Hinamori's reaitsu. It wasn't Hinamori. Yet he couldn't quite manage to get himself to stop staring in that girl's direction.

Damn it, she looked almost exactly like her.

Shifting the bags in her hands so she could carry them better (and now Rimudo could see inside more) Takiko looked down the street. "Lunch? That's fine by me. You can wash up lat-" she stopped mid sentence as her companion suddenly tensed. "Uru-" she cut herself off, "Rimudo?" She was trying so darn hard to break her habit for his sake.

She felt him nudge her, but failed to comply to move as she stood on tiptoe to look around him. "What's wrong? Is everything all right?" And then she saw the person staring at them.

"Do you know him?" she inquired, keeping her voice low.
