So I knew you once upon a time ago...
Who: Tim Drake(
theshortestbird) & Lois Lane (
presspasskey)
When: 2/29, early afternoon
Where: The S.S. Kahve
Summary: Tim decides to check up on someone kind of familiar. She does more checking up then he does, though.
Warnings: Language, if at all.
He wasn't quite sure what to expect, in meeting Lois now. She wasn't too different from the one he had met before; with Clark, not pleased with Batman, a ruthless reporter. She was cool. She'd always been cool. But Tim was nervous; the last time he'd talked to her, it wasn't about anything important. He'd stayed away from most of the Supers after Kon died, and that included anyone married to one.
Plus, he was still sick. Catching his reflection in the window as he got to the coffee house, he swallowed nervously. Maybe this had been a bad idea. He didn't look that bad. A little more pale then usual, but then, he was a kid who did things at night, so he never had much of a tan to begin with.
Maybe she'd pass it off as nerves. He'd try to do just that. Going inside, he looked around for her; not finding her there yet, he went and got some tea, taking a seat in the corner to wait.

"He's gotten better, but... style isn't something that can be taught, if you know what I mean," Tim grinned, handing the NV over. "I think as long as he stays in primaries, it'll be okay. Sometimes, people need a change."

"...Well, Bruce raised him," she said after a moment, voice still a little strangled. "I'm not surprised he knew nothing about... sanity. Especially where costumes are concerned."
Bat ears. She honestly can't get past the bat ears.

He couldn't keep the smile off his face. "Costumes... yeah. Costumes were never anyone's strong suit."
Living in the future: this one hurts.
With a raised eyebrow, "Of course not. All you had to learn from was bat ears."
;A; baw
He took a bite of the donut, something he had almost forgotten he had in all his laughter over costumes.
/sharing of consoling tea
For all her respect for him, and appreciation of his friendship with Clark, Lois could not find it in her to be awed.

Glancing at her watch, she sighed. "Crap. Not to be the killjoy, but I should take off--I'm already in it for using work time and phone lines on the wedding." As she stood (and gathered the last of her precious pastry, because blood sugar was everything) Lois came to a split-second decision.
"By the way--what I said earlier, about having tons of company in the jinx-on-life?" Pause. "Overly-controlling was not in reference to Bruce."
Yes, she was going somewhere with this.
no subject
"Who was it in reference to, then?"

"I'm sure you've already talked to Clark--but if you haven't, he's the best rock I've ever known. When it was," she paused, but oh well, Tim could be discrete, "Oliver, Clark was the one he let in--and let's not talk about all the times he took care of me. I'm always here--god knows you all need someone to remind you there is life outside work sometimes--but I know you'll probably get the whole 'civilian can't understand' thing."
After a pause, she added frankly, "Or the Lois-can't-understand thing. Sooner or later I'll put my foot in my mouth again and do more damage than good. But hey, I try." Her opinion of herself might be slightly... skewed.

"I think that you, out of everyone, could understand this the best," Tim said slowly. "Thank you. I'm really glad you're here."
