Who: Helen Magnus & Pino (+ open to Nana & Raul Creed)
When: January 21
Where: Raul Creed's apartment
Summary: Bonding and art
Warnings: Cuteness
Helen had been up for several hours. Actually she hadn't slept, a fact that no longer bothered her as much as it used to. The spare room that had been given to her was as yet untouched, the couch holding her for now (it was far easier than moving to the other room). She'd been slowly sketching in that time, something that Helen had started after the snow globes had appeared. It was something personal, something important to her given that she had nothing from home - she didn't need it for the memories but to be able to look at something? Or to show someone it if need be? That was what she wanted.
Helen checked her cup of tea, taking a sip from it (it was starting to cool). She'd been working on a sketch of the Sanctuary, an arial view of it. Helen wasn't quite certain what she wanted with it, or what really she was doing but drawing this? It was relaxing for her, and a little enjoyable; she could see why she'd been an artist in her 'alternate' life.

When watching from her own window has become too boring, she ventures out into the rest of the apartment to get a look at the pure white city from another viewpoint. But seeing Helen out on the couch in the living room makes her pause a moment. It would be rude to rush into the room when Papa's friend was sitting there alone, right?
...Well, maybe if she announces herself first it would be okay.
"Helen?" she calls from the doorway.

She hadn't expected anyone else to be up yet, not quite so soon so hearing Pino's voice (she'd heard the footsteps too) surprised her slightly, but it was a pleasant surprise. Putting down her pencil Helen lowered her book down to her lap, turning her head to look over at Pino.
"Good morning." Helen gave her a smile, turning herself a little to see her easier.
no subject
"'Morning! You're up really early today."
no subject
"Have you been up long?" Helen slid her leg slowly from the couch, doing so carefully enough to not aggravate her knee, allowing Pino to sit in the space with her if she chose.
no subject
"Mm, not really. I don't take much time to charge," she replies, offhandedly. "What're you doing?"
no subject
"I was drawing." And Pino was the first one that had seen, and possibly knew, that she was doing so - she wasn't trying to keep it secret but it was something that was a little more private to her, until asked.
no subject
She perks up, standing at perfect posture with her hands still attached to the couch as she tilts her head curiously towards the woman.
"What were you drawing?"
no subject
"My home, or part of it at least."
no subject
"That's so cool, Helen! You should draw more of your home! I wanna see more!"
no subject
"What about you?" She knew that Pino loved drawing. "What have you drawn lately?"
no subject
"I drew something for Papa...but I probably won't give it to him," she answers with a small shrug. "I draw lots of stuff for him that I never give him."
no subject
"Why not?" She couldn't believe that Raul wouldn't want to see what she'd drawn, but either way it made her curious as to what Pino had drawn.
"May I see?"
no subject
"He's really busy and has to think about work all the time, so I don't want to distract him too much."
But she smiles at the request and nods her head. "Mmhmm! It's in my bedroom! Do you want me to get it for you?"
no subject
"Please." Helen closes her book again, slipping it between herself and the couch as she waits.
no subject
Mmhmm! Just a sec, 'kay?" she chirps as she rushes from the room and runs back to her bedroom at full speed. She returns a moment later with a standard notebook sized page of formerly-white paper, the entirety of it now covered with a childish but horribly detailed dragon towering over a city. The sky is filled with stars and a crescent moon, but the dragon doesn't appear to be threatening it. If anything, the arms and tail curl around the building protectively.
She's also clearly used almost every color in the crayon box to make it.
no subject
"It's beautiful." She couldn't imagine how long Pino had spent on it but it would have been worth it.
no subject
Not that she knows exactly how to explain it with words. That's why pictures are so much easier to create.
"Thank you very much! Do you think he'd like to see it too?"
no subject
"Do you have any others?" Helen knew that she did given that Pino said that there was a lot that she'd drawn but she'd rather ask first.
no subject
"No, I gave the rest of them to the wind," she replies without elaborating on what she means, eyes still on the drawing.
no subject
If Pino did choose to give it to her she'd gladly show it to Raul. As for him spending time with her when he came home? He had time for Pino too.
no subject
He's taken a liking to her, after all. That much has been obvious to Pino, even if she hasn't thought to comment on it to either of them in the last few months.
no subject
"Perhaps he would." But she also doubted that she'd show him.
no subject
She perks up a little more.
"Hey, do you know how to play any instruments?"
no subject
"I don't, I'm afraid." Oh her father had tried, had had someone try to teach her but it hadn't been in Helen's interests - she liked music certainly but listening to it more than playing it herself. As she'd gotten older occassionally she wished that she'd tried a little more, but it was now simply another of those missed opportunities.
"I enjoy listening to others place, though."
no subject
Her Papa had taught her everything that she knew, after all. And there was always something about his presence that made the music even more interesting to listen to. Like everything else, he commanded his own attention over it.
"Or maybe he could teach you. That would be fun too, right? Then all three of us could play together."
no subject
"I wouldn't be opposed to hearing you play, however." She didn't necessarily mean now but one time. She was curious as to what the girl knew, and how well she could play.
no subject
She rocks back and forth on her toes.
"I can play something if you want, but I'm not as good as Papa."
no subject
She would have explained that it wasn't about being as good as someone, that it was being the best that you could be, and having confidence in your abilities but she stopped herself - she'd rather have a pleasant time with the girl than turn it into a disccusion (not that that couldn't be pleasant).
"Do you have anything specific that you enjoy playing?"
no subject
no subject
"Would you mind playing one?"
no subject
"I'd love to play one! I only know a couple so far, though. Papa won't let me learn all of them at once."
He wants her to be as much like a 'child' as possible.
no subject
"It gives you a chance to enjoy the ones that you know before learning more." And so that there was still plenty more for her to learn later.
no subject
It makes her happy, though. Her Papa treats her like a person rather than a machine; a companion with emotions rather than a puppet created for the illusion of a standard family unit. As much as she'd like to learn everything in the way that other AutoReivs back home did, this made Papa happy, and that in turn makes her happy.
"Is there one that you want to hear me play? Or just any of them?" she asks, gesturing to the sheet music piled on top of the piano as she settles onto the bench.
