Who: Nadeko, and you!
When: Friday, March 16, 2012 - Afternoon, around 3pm.
Where: Sector 4, at a Grocery Store
Summary: Nadeko has a day off! And so, after school, she's doing a bit of grocery shopping for the apartment. Bug her?
Warnings: There should be none? Mingle post!Nadeko needs moar CR
[ she wandered through the aisles, a small list written out on notebook paper of things she'd noticed the apartment had been lacking. since getting herself a job, she'd been able to contribute a little more to the apartment than she had been able to previously.
rent was one of those things. bills, and helping to buy groceries was another. and that's what she was doing now.
care to give her some friendly shopping advice? comment on her choice of soy sauce? anything else? ]

Because these two need more CR to call their very own.
[It was the simple things, mostly, that he needed to get more of. Just the staples. Okay, so watermelon and peaches weren't necessarily staples, but Hinamori liked them and therefore they would be bought. It was only logical.
[At some point, he noticed Nadeko looking through a few things, and since he was headed that way anyway, there was no reason not to acknowledge her.
[He pointed at one of the other options in the pile she was looking through.] That one's fresher.
[What are proper greetings?]
Yes! And sorry, my replies will be slow. ;3; Work zaps my brain.
Thank you.
[ she'll just grab the fresher one now, and keep looking over all the fruit here. ]
How have you been, Hitsugaya-san?
Totally okay.
Busy, the past couple of days. [If you want answers as to why, Nadeko, you'll have to ask straight out.]
♥ !
Is it ... too much to ask what you've been busy with?
[ she seemed a bit hesitant to ask that, since, lol, she's kind of awkward around people in general. ]

[He glances over at her when she asks, frown no deeper than usual.] Someone from home arrived the other day. Been helping her settle.

[Conversation. How does it work?] You'd like her. [Obviously. Since you're a good person and no good person could dislike Momo.]

You really think so? Maybe I'll meet her sometime ...

[ social is good. social might actually get her talking. maybe. ]
I hope I do, then.

Then again, she hasn't been in the best mood anyway - it's only been four days since she arrived, and even though everyone's advice is "settle in and get used to it," doing so was a lot harder than it sounded. The whole city was foreign and downright creepy at times, she was alone, and she was torn up with anxiety over the situation back home. There was no way she could have known about that even if she hadn't come here, to be sure, but she didn't expect that she'd want to. This was the first time she'd been able to get over her nerves enough to really go out and get things done. Try and find work, gather resources, breathe normally.
This apparently included buying soda. Unfortunately, the Dr. Pepper was at the very top shelf, and Kurisu stood at a meager five feet, so it was proving to be fairly challenging... But by god, she was going to have her soda if nothing else! Once she finally gets a hand on it -- she can't really grasp a round bottle with just the tip of her hands, and it falls to the ground with a thunk, rolling towards Nadeko. ]
Ah -- I'm really sorry. That's mine...

at the sound of a voice, she looks up, still a bit confused, and, at first, holds out the can of soda awkwardly toward the girl she didn't know.
... but then she realized that she could just bring it over to her. right, she had legs, she could use them. so she made her way over, still holding the can out to her as she walked toward her.
awkward much, Nadeko? yes, very awkward. this sort of thing didn't happen often. ]

Thank you--
[ aaand the words barely leave her mouth before it promptly explodes all over her hands. Kurisu squeaks in disgust, then proceeds to stare at the soda she'd undoubtedly be paying for anyway and facepalming quite hard with her other hand (and harshly mumbling something that sounds suspiciously like "fuck this gay earth.") ]

I-I could go get some paper towels from the bathroom!
[ tjhnkgnkng SODA EXPLOSION WHAT. ]
no subject
Y-yes, I'd appreciate that. Sorry. [ what should she even do with this soda... She stares at it for a moment, knowing her hands were going to be randomly sticky all day now, and then sort of awkwardly crouches down and puts it on the floor like it's going to get on her again if she keeps holding onto it. ]
no subject
I-I'll be right back!
[ she rushes off to the bathroom, then returns a few minutes later holding several paper towels, some of them damp and others dry. ]
Here, let me help ...
[ she hands the other girl a damper cloth, to wash away the stickiness of the soda that had exploded. ]

[ she seems happy to be able to help out. this was a pretty embarrassing situation, after all, and this girl seems pretty frustrated at all of it. she wants to try and help her somehow ... ]
Ah, I've got a little extra money ... if you want, I can buy you a new one?

I've been here for several months, actually ...
[ she looks up at her, worriedly. ]
This place ... it's really rough, even for people who have been here for a while. I was lucky to have some help when I first started out.
[ a pause. she seems a little awkward. ]
Is there ... anything I can help you with?
no subject
No, thank you. I don't think you could do anything. I don't mind being here as much as... As much as being separated from my friends, I suppose. [ Considering she thought she was dead before, existing anywhere seemed like a pretty good deal. ] It's all very unfamiliar.
no subject
Mm ... I know what you mean. At first, it's really hard. You're in a new place, with people you don't know ... and sometimes, you're in a completely new country from the one you were in before, so there are a lot of new customs to really absorb.
[ her voice lowers a little bit, and she looks away from the other girl. ]
But then ... sometimes, in this place, you'll find someone or many someones who make living here a lot better. And then it's hard to think about going back, even though you still want to.
[ yep, personal experience. ]
no subject
She had nowhere to go back to, anyway. ]
You've made new friends here, then? That's good. [ her tone of voice doesn't say that she has the same ambition, herself. Eighteen years of life and she'd only made two good friends - within the last month of her previous existence, at that. ]
no subject
Friends, and ... well. [ is that a blush on her cheeks? yeah, that is. ]
... someone who is more than that, too.
no subject
Is that so...? Congratulations. I'm a little jealous.
no subject
Thank you. He was actually the first person I met in this place ...
[ she cocks her head to the side a little at her last statement. ]
Mm, I'm sure you'll find someone like that someday ... sometimes, it just happens.
[ this one actually had the biggest crush on a guy back home before coming to this place ... ]
no subject
Ah... Well... I did. I guess. [ she sighs, clumping the soggy paper towels together - they'd done enough, as far as she was concerned. The janitors could take care of the rest. Getting to her feet, she looks around for a trash can, pointedly keeping her gaze away from Nadeko. Looks like she was shy about it, or just unsure. ] Mm. I did. But he's back home, so... It's fine.
no subject
[ aww, she left someone behind back home ... now she feels a little bad. but then again, she had left someone behind, too ... only, she wasn't involved with him like that. ]
Maybe he'll show up here eventually?
[ it happens! ]

What kind of trouble ...?
[ jgnrkngn wait, she was prying. that was rude. good job, Nadeko! ]
I-I'm sorry, you don't have to answer that if you don't want to!
no subject
It's fine, it's fine. He's just... the type of person who gets involved in things he doesn't need to. [ hypocrisy... ] And he's really loud and obnoxious, too!
[ she huffs, rolling her eyes, then looks back over to the soda on the top shelf. Looks like she'd have to settle for diet Dr. Pepper, situated just below it, for today. ]
