Who: Red Robin and anyone who received a text message about the Teen Titans.
When: Saturday, March 24th, 9:00 pm.
Where: A warehouse by the docks in Sector 11.
Summary: Red Robin sent out a recruitment message to other teenagers in the city. Anyone who signed up on the OOC post is invited to the meeting. Sign ups are still open! If you'd like your character to be a part of the Teen Titans, respond to the OOC post!
Warnings: Possible language (considering who's coming) and mentions of violence.

The world we live in is in trouble. The companies are the ones in control of a government that doesn’t want to help its people. Kids are getting picked up off the streets and sold into slavery, and that’s not even the worst thing that could happen. There are superheroes here, like Superman, and Batman. But they can’t be everywhere at once, as hard as they try. They need help, but superheroes can’t ask for help. We can help. We need to take control back of this island. We need to make sure no one else dies out in the darkness. We have the time, the energy, and the know-how to do all of this. My name is Red Robin. If you’re interested in fighting against injustice and helping people, then come to Sector 11 on the 24th at 9:00 pm. The first meeting of the Teen Titans will take place there, and all questions will be answered. If you don’t want to join, no problem. This message will delete itself 30 minutes after being opened, no matter what you decide. - RR

That was the text that Tim had sent out to everyone he had considered as a potential applicant for the Teen Titans. He knew that it was going to be difficult to start out; he could remember hearing all about the original Titans and their problems, as well as when Young Justice transformed into the next generation of Titans. But while the city had it's superheroes in Superman and Batman, there were so many people out there who wanted to help, but didn't know how to start.

It had taken Tim some time to plan everything. He had made the deal with the warehouse owner; if they could keep people from stealing anything from them, then the Titans could have their own space. That was easy enough to do, of course. The hard part came after, when he had to start transporting equipment into it. It wasn't going to be close to what they had back home, but it had a nice set of computers. A few couches and places to sit, a TV that they could connect to the computers. A little medical spot that had a lot of First Aid kits. It would work, for now.

But the first meeting was going to be down in the bottom half of the warehouse. Large, empty space with a few boxes around; it made for a good meeting spot. That's where he would explain everything, dressed in his Red Robin costume. No one would know who he really was.

ooc: Some ground rules! If someone is wearing a mask, you cannot know who they are. If your character decides not to join the Titans, that's perfectly all right! But they will not be able to tell anyone else where the place is located, nor who was there and what was said. Leave all sabotage efforts for another day, guys. All electronic devices are disabled as soon as you get within twenty feet of the warehouse. No one will be allowed upstairs for right now.

[Again he blinks, shaken out of his thoughts as Jack approaches. It's a quick introduction, and after a pause Hiccup reaches for said hand, giving a weak shake.]

Oh. Hi. I'm Hiccup.

[And, sad as it is, it sounds just like that. Hiccup has no recollection of ever meeting Jack, but he smiles. Awkward, maybe, but it's a smile.]

[His smile fades just a fraction.]

That's one hell o' a name you got.

[He laughs a little.] Yeah. It's not the best.

Oh– and I've only been around for two months, so...I guess that still counts as new, right?

I been here for near two years now, so it depends on how you look at it.

Wow. Two years...that's a long time. Of course it's a long time. But anyone who's been brought in is still considered a Newcomer?

Mmhmm. Far as I can understand it, you're a Newcomer for life. They don't take to us no matter how long we stay.

Well that's nice to know. Then again it's a very similar feeling to the one I've been exposed to back at home, so that's not too much of a shock...

What, you an outcast?

Sorta? I don't exactly fit the profile of what a Viking's suppose to be, but that's that. And besides being a Newcomer, you look like you're better at fitting into everything.

[He grins.]

'S just confidence, mate. You act like you fit in and the rest falls in place.

Confidence. [He can't help but chuckle.] I think I need to get more of that.

I'll help ya. It's easy. Just tilt your chin up and swagger.

Swagger?

Aw, you know.

[He turns and walks away a few steps, strutting a little as he does. He glances behind him, grinning at Hiccup.]

Like that. Like you own the place.

[Hiccup nods, folding his arms over one another as he watches. Don't mind him, he's studying this to the utmost.]

...It's that simple?

More or less. Talk like it too, and--

[He reaches back to him, tilting his head up a little.]

But yeah. Talk like it, look like it, act like it, and sooner or later you'll start believin' it yourself. And in the meantime, everyone else'll believe it.

[A beat. He smirks.]

It's a good trick for breakin' into places too. Nobody ever stops anyone who looks like they belong there.

[He goes with it, tilting his head upward with the help.]

Whoa. [This makes him feel different.] So far, so good?

[He then tilts his head to the side.] ...I guess this really does come in handy when it comes down to that.

Now just smirk a little. Not all uncertain, but . . . like you just got laid, you know? Like you know somethin' everybody else don't know. Like--

[He demonstrates for a few seconds.]

But yeah, so far so good.

[The attempt at a smirk putters and dies in some confusion as he thinks about the way it's suppose to be. Something doesn't translate there.]

What do you mean by 'laid?'

You know, with a girl? A roll in the hay? Sleepin' with her? Sex?

...Sex...

[Yeah.

This is going to take some time before he– oh, there's the flickering of a candle somewhere in that head of his.

His face immediately reddens at the thought, stammering in his reply, not sure what to do with his hands and arms.]

–That – is that really– ???

[He laughs.]

What? How it looks when you've done it? Most times, yeah. But you can picture somethin' else if you want. Like, uh . . . when you achieve somethin' really brilliant.

[At least he knows this now. That's...helpful. He nods vigorously, eyes darting to and fro.]

Yeah, I-I think I'll stick with the second idea. That's something I can work with.

How old are you?

Fifteen– wait. No. Sixteen winters old, now. I think my birthday passed weeks ago.
