vidya game time
Who: Yosuke and Gilbert
When: Backdated to the 17th of March
Where: Arcade in the underground mall
Summary: Bros playing video games. Only one of them is probably any good at it.
Warning: Warnings for embarrassing DDR failure.
This place is too loud. Too bright. There are too many flashing lights that still confuse him and fill him with anxiety. But two years living in this 'modern' world and Gilbert still hasn't assimilated properly when it comes to all of this technology.
He's been in this arcade a few times before. The first time he'd left with a migraine that he thought would never go away, and the second time he'd embarrassed himself by tripping over a stray power cord and nearly shoving an entire rack of stuffed animals on a small child. He'd caught it before it could do damage, but he'd still fled and promised never to show his face in this place again.
But he can't say no to a friend either. Especially a friend who 1 - he owes, and 2 - wants to continue helping his antiquated way of thinking expand a bit more.
Luckily, no one recognizes him as he stands just inside the entrance waiting for Yosuke to show up, staring down at his feet and trying not to bump into anything or anyone.

You know, so he can score again before you figure this shit out and basically wipe the floor with you.
no subject
Oh, there it is.
He picks it up and sets it back on the table, eyes narrowing distrustfully as it starts ghosting over the surface. How does this thing work?! Okay, no, he's got this. Carefully, he swats at the puck and lets it bounce off of the side of the table in Yosuke's direction. It doesn't move very fast, but at least it's pointed in the right direction.

read this tag while imagining shounen sparkles in the background of the scene.
CLEARLY, THIS MEANS WAR.
Angrily, he removes the puck again and slams it onto the table. With this shot, he'll--
Hit it with all his might and send it flying towards the opposite goal.
Lol w/e Yosuke thinks you suck.
[He just smacks it back your way, with a particularly obnoxious smirk.]
[Heh.]
Man, you really suck!
[He seems pleased by this.]
/switching to action tags too
Spoilers: it's still him.He grits his teeth and slams his paddle against the puck at full strength, sending the thing flying directly for the goal.]
Oops sorry dude. Can't read at 4am I guess!
[Whack! the puck darts back your way, dude. Hasn't anyone ever told you you have to play dirty to win? Here, he'll show you.]
Man, you wouldn't think they would put a bakery in here, huh?
meh, it's all the same.
A bakery - what?
/facepalm
Yeah, for all the cream puffs like you, I guess!
no subject
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY--?! OH THIS IS WAR. As soon as the puck bounces, he HITS IT WITH RIGHTEOUS FURY. It might be headed straight for Yosuke's paddle where it might just...like, bounce off of it and fling itself off of the table.]
no subject
[Scattering them all over the massive dude they belong to.]
[Yosuke gapes for a minute, and then points helpfully at Gilbert, from where he is on the floor.]
It was him!
no subject
Whatever, he'll bitch about it later.
Gilbert raises a hand in apology, nervous and awkward.]
Ah...sorry...it was a mistake...
[Okay, now which one of them is courageous enough to walk over and pick up the cheese covered puck sitting in front of Pissed Off Nacho Man?]
no subject
no subject
He walks over - cautiously and takes the puck back, leaving a $10 bill on the table with a muttered apology and a suggestion that he should buy chips that haven't been on the floor. The angry dude still looks pissed, but he at least lets the boys get back to their game.
And hey, they learned a new thing! The puck can, in fact, fly off of the table. This information will come in useful for the rest of this round.]
This game is more dangerous than I thought...
[He lets the puck hit the table again before moving back over to his side.]
no subject
[But Yosuke takes advantage of the situation and slaps the puck quickly toward Gilbert's goal again as soon as it's back on the table.]
no subject
You're cheating somehow!
[Back onto the table it goes, and right back off of his paddle it bounces. This is probably a metaphor for...something.]
no subject
['Nother slapshot! He's pretty merciless when it comes to fun and games, dude. Sorry about that. Except he's totally not. Hah.]
no subject
My reflexes are fine!
no subject
Sure, for someone your age!
no subject
I'm only twenty--!
[...Wait, he has to think about that.]
Twenty-six...?
no subject
Really? Hmm. It's not what I would have guessed.
no subject
[WHACK.]
no subject
[Snerk. Whap!]
no subject
[And it slides right past him and into the goal. Yosuke - 3, Gilbert, NOTHING.]
no subject
[He just cackles gleefully. That was the plan there, after all. Way to fall for it, dude.]
[He also nods at you and gestures to the other side, where the puck is.]
You've gotta set it out again, dude.
