Entry tags:
People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously.
Who: Celes Chere (
runebladeknight) and YOU
When: April 6, various times of day
Where: All over the city
Summary: A day and a night in the life. Started as prose, but action tags are welcome to those who prefer them.
Warnings: Likely to be violence against monsters in the nighttime thread. Will add others later if needed.
Celes didn't lead the most exciting of lives. Even work as a police officer could be dull at times, filing all of that paperwork and handling minor disturbances.
And home life was rather lonely these days, being the only one left at the boarding house. So much empty space. Maybe she should start looking for a smaller place of her own herself; she's saved enough. But that would be something to think about another day. And it wasn't really the solitude that she minded most of the time.
Even if that was some of what made her go outside some nights.

Daylight -- Just give a time and place
Sector 5, around 11am?
Jubilee would've hit the first burger joint she came across; Jay was looking for salads and something light. No soda; water only. Froufrou coffees. She sipped the double shot espresso low fat lattee with a triple pump of vanilla coffee in her hand, looking for a decent restaurant.
She stopped outside of a computer store, studying the new pad they had, when she turned and bumped into somebody. "Oh god! I'm sorry!" She reached out a hand to steady the blonde woman she'd bumped. "I'm sorry, miss. Are you alright?" The image inducer gave her a lower voice so she even sounded like a guy.

"I'm fine; don't worry about it. You?"

"Let me buy you lunch to make up for it?"

Her eyebrow went up a little at that offer. What the hell? "You don't have to do anything like that. It was just an accident."

... Being someone else was hard with her brain.
"Ah, well, can't blame a guy for trying to take out a pretty girl to lunch."
... Where the hell had that come from? Whatever. Roll with it. "Don't suppose you know a decent place around here to get soup and salad do you?"
Hey, is the image inducer making Jubes look any taller? If not, Celes has about 6 inches on her.
Still, the guy wasn't being overtly rude or anything, so she supposed it would be a bit excessive to be too annoyed with him over it. Or at least keep from expressing her annoyance too much. Because she couldn't deny the feeling; she tended to get hit on regularly anymore.
So she shrugged dismissively before chucking a thumb over her shoulder. "There's a serviceable place about three blocks down the street."
It COULD but it isn't, no. So she's still SHORT.
"Thanks." Jubilee pushed herself up, sipping her coffee. "Sure I can't entice you to that lunch? I hate eating alone."
Which, actually, was true. She got tired of eating alone. Because, seriously, she did it all the time. And being out like this was a chance to do things without people realizing who she was. And a chance to get her brain straight.

"I do have a bit of time before work. I suppose it couldn't hurt. But I can pay my own way, so don't bother asking to treat me again."

Oh, she should probably have manners. "I'm Jay Yashida by the way." She extended a hand to be shook. Somewhere, Logan was growling. She just knew it. But she also thought he might understand.
Darkness -- Anywhere
[OOC: Any character who wants to run into her and has magical abilities should take a second to reply to her permissions post: she can potentially screw you up.]

"This blows."

She caught sight of a woman out of the corner of her eye -- someone heading home from work, if the clothing was any indication -- and some intuition that she couldn't name prompted her to look up. And it was a good thing she did.
A half-moment of concentration, a quietly whispered spell, and a blast of flame shot forth from her hand, intercepting the Death Head Squid when it was about two feet from landing on the woman's head. So instead of an unpleasant new hat, the potential victim just ended up with a shower of ash.
"Hey. You all right?"
