He'd made appointments with various people. He was going to keep them. But even still, he was looking entirely well. He'd lost a little weight, was tense, and mostly very still. Except his eyes. They never stopped moving.

I have people threatening my life and you refuse to meet me in places where I am safe.

I don't really remember much of the last month or so Rochelle. It's like time is all blurred and I can't really focus in on it.

[That's not a lie and his very real distress over how much time he had lost was real. That it was a side answer and not a direct one...]

[what.] I refused you? I said this was okay! You gave me two options, I PICKED one.

[double what.]

So you wouldn't remember anything you--were accused of?

Because my first was refused.

[His tone is flat - he didn't totally feel safe in the HoA even. He's not arguing. He doesn't have it in him to.]

I have a difficult time remembering three days ago.

[Again, it wasn't a direct answer. He was implying that no, he didn't. And he wasn't lying about having difficulty keeping days straight.]

The last clear memory I have? Was sitting in my office, looking at an empty wine bottle and deciding to not drink any more. That was in early February.

[And that was also true. Alcohol withdrawal and the insomnia that came with, then the hyped up, almost manic feeling he'd had from the Sunday before he killed Crowley until after wasn't clear, not how he meant it.]

Michael, I wasn't refusing you. I was trying to say we could GO to the first one.

[But even if he was implying, Rochelle could put two and two together.]

... then there really IS something wrong.

I think House wants an excuse to stuff food in me.

[Lucifer would come get him at some point, or something. House said it would protect him, if it came to it.]

That's what Jubilee has been trying to tell people. You can't get legal proxy transfered because someone has a cold.

[He was just a little cranky. Because seriously people. That wasn't something minor.]

I didn't get a hell a lot out of her in the first place... [Thoughtfully:] You've seen a doctor about it?

Why should she tell people my medical information? She did say she had medical and legal proxy.

[That was as much as anyone needed to know, as far as he was concerned. More than most deserved to know.]

I am, yes. And those whose care I have been in have healing abilities.

It wouldn't have had to be in THAT much detail. Relax.

[She frowned.]

That's something.

[Relaxing isn't going to happen any time soon.]

I mostly just want to be alone. But. I'm supposed to talk to people.

[Doctor's orders, basically.]

[Ro sighed through her nose. She was silent for a moment, just looking at him. She had a better idea of what to think, but visions of Tom were still dancing way too close to her head.]

You're talking some.

One or two a day.

[And not really for more than an hour or so.]

[She frowned again.]

I got my answer. Do you WANT me to go?

I don't know. I don't want to talk about this anymore.

[It's stressful in ways it shouldn't and should be. But it's not something he can handle right now.]

[He drained his mug - it was still hot, despite the time it had been there sitting in his hands.]

I know Chuck's not here.

[That hurt.]

Did anyone else leave?

[Ro paused, but shook her head.]

Not everybody, but a lot still did.

I meant the island. Chuck's not.

[He motions to his NV.]

I wanted...

[Chuck was his friend, he wanted him.]

Chuck's not--[Wait, this was news to her.] What?

[Well, god dammit. She didn't need him to tell her.]

He's really...?

[He nodded, frowning.]

I tried to text him and it didn't work.

[He was upset over that.]

[... WELP. Rochelle stared at him a moment.]

Oh god dammit.

[Then she decided to stare at the floor. Like dealing with this wasn't already wearing enough.]

I should--probably go.

[He rubbed his nose, the first movement he'd made that didn't have a purpose.]

[Rochelle, on the other hand, just needed to think about this. Really hard.]

I think I have to. You... don't need anything from me? [For not 100% knowing what she thought yet, she wasn't sure why she said that. A friendly gesture, she guessed.]

I just. I don't. My health isn't anyone's business.

[He didn't want her to tell people what was going on, passed he was ill. It was weakness. It was embarrassing.]

[If it helps anything, her expression understood. She nodded.]
