He'd made appointments with various people. He was going to keep them. But even still, he was looking entirely well. He'd lost a little weight, was tense, and mostly very still. Except his eyes. They never stopped moving.

"Has that happened to anyone else?"

He wasn't sure but he hadn't been paying attention.

"Having your memories tampered with is horrible."

Blaine nodded. "A few people. There's a girl who admitted she has the power to mess with memories, but I don't think she was the one who did it. Has the Core ever done anything about that before?"

"I don't think so. Probably someone with powers, either accidentally or on purpose." Because accidents happened with powers.

Blaine nodded. "I think that might be it. He didn't wake up in the baseball field and he still has his scars from this place. I think it's still him, not a new version of him or anything. I'm just worried. Do you know anyone who might have done something like that?"

"I don't, I'm sorry. Has he been around anyone who hasn't figured out what their powers are?" Because that seemed likely to him.

"I don't know. It's possible? I hadn't been as involved in his life as much as I used to."

[magnetic_magpie]

"Something to talk to you friends about." Otherwise, he couldn't really help.

"Anything else? How are you, with-groceries and things until Chuck gets back?" Because children. They needed people to take care of them.

Blaine sighed and shook his head. "I don't know? It depends on how long until he returns. It might become a problem if rent ends up coming due..."

"When is that?" Or really - how long until it becomes a problem.

"The first of the month? But I could go for a bit after that, I think."

[magnetic_magpie]

"All right. Let me know if there are problems?" Jubilee could send him money or something.

Blaine nodded. "Thank you. I'm trying not to stress out about it. If nothing else I can always move in with Tim. They have a room for me now."

"No, don't stress." He reached over slowly and gently patted Blaine's arm.

Blaine smiled at the touch. "I'll be okay. It's nice to know I can come to you again. I missed you."

[magnetic_magpie]

"I missed you too. I'm not. I'm not here a lot." He didn't feel safe and he needed more care than he could get here. "But if you text me I can come here."

Blaine nodded. "I will but if you can't for any reason, just tell me. I understand."

"I will. I promise." He wasn't always going to be up to socializing.

"We can both focus on taking care of ourselves, I think."

"That's probably best yes." His voice was quiet, subdued. Even this easy conversation was making him tired.

"I think I should probably head back," Blaine said after a moment. "I really wanted just to see you. Unless there's something else you needed to talk about?"

[magnetic_magpie]

"No, I'm just glad you are all right." He was tired, mostly from being so on alert.

"Me too," Blaine said. He touched the older man again, just a light, tentative hand on his arm. He really wanted to hug him, but he wasn't sure that he would be up for that. "Thank you for texting me and for seeing me. You get some rest, okay?"

He lightly covered Blaine's hand with his own and squeezed it gently. "I will, believe me. I have plenty of minders." And they would in fact, poke him to rest.

Blaine smiled a bit and lingered for just a moment before he finally pulls back. "I'll see you later," he said with a small smile.

He returned with a small smile of his own, "I'll see you later Blaine."
