Open!
Who: Kazuma Ikezawa, Schwartz the cat, anyone who wants to join him!
When: Monday afternoon
Where: A park somewhere in Sector 4
Summary: The weather isn't great, but it's good enough for a little Kenpo practice in the park
Warnings: None right now, will edit if necessary
The rains for the morning had subsided just as the school day ended, leaving the sky cloudy but the air just warm enough to be bearable. Kazuma had been itching to get back in to practicing outside, and with his girlfriend at work for the latter part of the afternoon, he decided this was as good of time as any to run through a few sets in the park near where they lived.
After a quick trip home to change, he headed back with Domon's cat, Schwartz following along either by way of sidewalks or balancing on fences behind him. Where his own cat Kana actually seemed more than content to be inside all the time, Schwartz actually enjoyed being outdoors and was surprisingly dog-like in his ability to follow either of his new owners around and never get too far away. It worked out well, considering how often the darkness could easily take a domestic animal.
Once Kazuma had found a suitable spot to practice, he set his bag down and watched as Schwartz went to find a tree to curl up under. Putting himself in to a stance, the lanky teen stretched for several minutes. After that he started moving expertly through the moves, hands and feet striking out at an invisible opponent, completely focused on his task.
Obviously this would be the best time to bother him, wouldn't it?

And he didn't personally find the weather that bad. But he might have been a little biased. He liked chill. He liked rain. Just quirks of his, really. Liking things that seemed to make most others feel uncomfortable. It was a fair trade for hating what others celebrated so much. Like summer.
"What style is that?" If they had ever discussed this before, he didn't remember it.

"Shaolin Kenpo," he answered, rubbing the towel at his hair. "... haven't I mentioned that before?"
no subject
"... Possibly. I've just . . ." His brow furrowed. Just had a memory issue lately? He hated admitting that. Especially outside the privacy of his house, even if it was to a friend. So he'd go with something else. "Just been a bit busy lately, I suppose."
Hell, that sounded contrived even to him. Not that it was a lie, really.

"... are you sure that's it?"
no subject
"I know exactly what it is." More or less. He had it pretty much figured, except for a few salient points. More trying to steer things away. "Besides, looking after her tends to require all my focus as it is."
no subject
"Right..." he nodded, figuring it would be better to drop it. "Sorry."

He wasn't the one who'd messed with his head, after all. He'd like to have a word with whoever it had been, though. Just a word. Really. No violence at all.
"Doesn't mean you have to keep your distance. I know she wouldn't mind meeting you."
Hinamori liked to meet everyone. It was part of what made watching over her such a time-consuming endeavour. At least he already knew that this was a safe person for her to interact with.
sorry for the delay. x.x School is dragging my tagging speed down
Of course she'd probably been settled weeks ago. Kazuma had just been busy, or spending time with Nadeko and had honestly fallen off the network and out of being sociable for a time.
"I could come over next weekend and meet her, if you want."
Totally okay.
"I'm sure she'd like that."
Not a word about what he wants himself. It was all about Hinamori. Just like usual.
<3
Wow, I actually got the notification on time.
She was so easy to please, it was almost pitiful at times. Not that he would change that. There was something wrong with the world when Hinamori wasn't happy. It was the natural order of things.
But he did give it a little more thought. "... She likes food gifts. Peaches are her favourite."
If Kazuma knew what Hinamori's given name was, the correlation would either be brilliant or stupidly coincidental.
\o/
He knew, actually. And he had wondered, but not having met her yet didn't give him much opportunity to ask. Learning that did make him smirk a bit, though.
"Makes things easy, though."

"... Did I ever say anything to you that I told you not to mention around her in the event that she showed up?"
The only thing of that nature he remembered saying was how his power had leaked out of him as a child and had been hurting Granny. But how could he be sure right now if he'd ever said more than that? And maybe he'd never said not to bring that one up, either. Damn memory issue.

"Why?"
no subject
"She's from over a year earlier than I am. There are certain things she doesn't know yet that she shouldn't hear from anybody but me."
He lowered his eyes for just a few seconds. He still didn't know how he was going to bring that up, or when would be the best time to tell her. No matter how or when he told her, it was going to hurt her. Badly.
Right. Back to talking. "I doubt I've gone into any of it with you. Nevermind."
