i love the winter weather, 'cause the two us can get together
Who: Franz (
discretion) & Daedalus (
gaveherwings)
When: 1/23, afternoon
Where: On SPU Campus (by a big hill!)
Summary: Sledding date of cute and adorable.
Warnings: Sap. Probably snogging. Will warn appropriately if it goes too sexy.
[Franz's bright red peacoat stands out against the snow. One must be fashionable even in the cold, and while Franz's high boots and woolen derby might make him look more suited for riding in a carriage, he's actually quite warm, especially with the scarf Kurt knitted him wrapped tightly around his neck. He seems almost luminescent amidst all that white, his cheeks bright in the cold. He's laughing, admiring the view from the top of the hill.]
Daedalus... it's beautiful up here! I think I can see our apartment!

Daedalus... it's beautiful up here! I think I can see our apartment!

So the free-flying speed and the feeling of a hug crushing at his ribs, the cold raw at his face as they fly-
It's absolutely exhilarating, and Daedalus can only gape, eyes deadlocked ahead at the stretch of hill. It passes quicker than he anticipates, and Daedalus mostly just tries to keep steady course.
Soon they're coasting a little slower in deeper snow, nearing the edge of the dormitory quad, where a small trio of collegiate girls are holding their books and looking on with slightly amused grins- probably at the sight of a pair of full grown 'idiots' behaving like children, who are nonetheless impeccably dressed.
Daedalus pulls back and leans into Franz, almost as if to slow the sled like a horse- and the sled does in fact rear up on it's front end, causing him to fall backwards into Franz, rope slipping between his gloves and away as they're dumped in the snow. The sled continues to slide away.]

You did it! Here's your reward.
[What else but a kiss?]
no subject
It's just exciting enough not only to not care less, but grab him closer by the lapels of his peacoat to kiss him long and hard and freely, the exact kind of sloppy, senseless public make-out session that he'd call ridiculous and excessively like a scene from some unrealistic romantic movie, on any other day of the week, but feels just right in the moment.
Snow is clinging to his hair, and Daedalus laughs when they part, gasping, and shivering slightly.]

Shall we go up one more time?
no subject
But for Daedalus, who's had almost nearly enough of this after two runs down, who's coat is caked with snow, and not so well lined for sprawling oneself out in the deep cold powder, and for whom the climb back up seems almost monumental, three seems...just enough to call it indulgence, then call it a snowday perfectly spent.]
Three times a charm?
[He laughs cheerily, his cheeks and nose pink with cold, and flakes clinging to his lashes. He sits up dizzy with joy, and leans on Franz to haul up onto his feet, still clumsy in his boots, worse as his toes are beginning to feel numb. He should have really worn a third layer of socks...
Oh. One problem.] Where did our sled get to?
no subject
[Franz finds and replaces his hat, which apparently takes priority to the sled.] Physics would dictate... that way?
[Actually he's just following the runner tracks.]
no subject
[Probably because he assumes Franz brought Physics into it just to try and level with his own scientific mind, which...is apparently rapidly dissolving into silliness with the cold and a just-been-kissed giddiness.]

[Hand in hand, they go to retrieve the sled- a hardier thing than it looks, for crashing into a tree.]
...So! You still want to climb, one more time up?
no subject
no subject
[He declares breezily (also, connotations), and steps ahead, lets Franz take the weight of the sled this time, trying to follow perfectly in their last set of footprints, which is a bit more treacherous than it looks.]
We've got all evening to be home. I'm glad to be out- [He sinks down into snow on one knee, arms pinwheeling out precariously ] in all of this!
no subject
It's nice to see you letting loose and playing.
[It makes Franz think that he wants children with his man someday, which makes him think of the not-proposal around Christmas, which makes his heart sink a little, but he keeps smiling.]
Come on, not much further...!
no subject
[whichever was exactly the sort of bright declaration he'd never think to make, if Franz had never waltzed into his life and showed him a more active side to R&R outside of R&D.
the thought leaves him feeling warmed and grateful, and overwhelmingly sentimental.
He leans into Franz all the way up the hill, cherishing the day. It's a wonder, to be this way, in a love that keeps astonishing him little by little with fundamental simplicity of the ideal]

You know, from this distance... it doesn't look so bad at all.
[And he can't resist the chance to kiss Daedalus again, slow and romantic.]
no subject
[Daedalus declares, but the view up close is certainly lovely. And then there's the sort of kiss that's almost too well timed to be real.
This is the very finest of ways to spend an afternoon, clearly.]

We'd best get down and home with plenty of safe time till siren.
no subject
Do you want to steer, or should I?

Lets....try...a different...start! [with a bit of grunting effort, but soon he's attempting to hop on the back end on his knees and flings his arms around Franz's shoulders, hanging on for dear life as the sled goes coasting even faster this time down]
no subject
YAHOO!
no subject
He'll sleep very soundly, tonight.]
no subject
Franz is laughing hard.]
no subject
There is simply too much of this world to take in fully, but the desire to experience it all is fresh in him. He pulls Franz back, out of their headfirst pitch into the snowbank, and dusts some of the stray flurries and clumps off his shoulders]
We were flying, that time!
