Who: The Striders and anybody coming to visit them over the first week of sickness
When: Wednesday, May 16th to possibly around the 23rd
Where: The Strider apartment
Summary: Bros get sick together. Catch-all log post for guilt plague at the Strider apartment: will include movies, feelings jams, and lots of babying.
Warnings: Almost certainly language, and definitely gross sickie stuff.

[It hits Davesprite first. A little dizzy, a little stuffed up, but obviously it's not a big deal (even if he didn't know sprites could get sick--should he be worried?) so he just shrugs it off like it ain't no thing. Probably serves him right for picking random shades off the ground, who knows whose weird gaunt face those things have touched?

And then it doesn't get better.

Better is a thing it spectacularly fails to get.]

[Despite her words, she turns her head back towards the screen, curious.]

With what, bird flu? It's nothing, I'm way too hard and awesome a dude to get sick.

[He jams his hands in his hoodie pockets and slides down more as the movie starts.]

[motioned]

...Wait, what's bird flu? Is there a flu only birds can get?

[She looks pretty panicked for a minute before she settles down into the couch, mimicking his movement.]

[crowsicle]

I dunno, it's like--a flu that starts with birds, and then people get it or something.

--Damn, I should've told you it was a flu that turned people into birds.

[motioned]

Wait, can sicknesses really go from animals to humans?

[She giggles.]

No, that would've been mean!

[crowsicle]

[He shrugs.]

Yeah, you can catch things from animals. That's how people get rabies and zombie viruses and stuff.

[They are paying so much attention to this movie. That's okay, it's the boring part before he learns karate anyway.]

[motioned]

W-Wait, zombie viruses? What are you talking about?

[They're good at attention spans.]

[crowsicle]

[He looks away from the screen for this because Shit Is Important.]

You don't know what a zombie is?

[motioned]

I know what it is, sorta, but I didn't know you get like that because of a virus!

[crowsicle]

[He turns away and kind of coughs, kind of clears his throat into his hand.]

Nah, it's like a genetically engineered bioweapon gone wrong or something. Scientific fact.

[motioned]

Wait, it's a weapon? How can someone make a virus? Wouldn't they catch it themselves?

[crowsicle]

I'd say about sixty percent of modern zombie movies have that premise, yeah. Though pasty scientist zombies are kind of more sad than scary.

[motioned]

They're sad no matter who they were beforehand! That sounds even worse than being dead.

[crowsicle]

Meh. Depends on whether or not they can come back, I guess. ...I mean some movies have dudes working on the cure and stuff.

[motioned]

Do they usually find the cure if they're looking for it?

[crowsicle]

Not if they want a sequel.

[motioned]

Are sequels that important?

[crowsicle]

Depends on which end of the industry you're on. If you made yourself a nest egg on the Hollywood sign, then yeah, it's pretty important.

[motioned]

A nest egg?

[crowsicle]

If you're gonna make money on it. The movie.

[motioned]

You need to nest in a certain kind of wood to make money? Wait, but movies don't have anything to do with laying eggs!

[crowsicle]

[Wwwwhhhhaaaaat, he didn't even--oh.]

Hollywood's where movies are made, in America. It's where all the--[Sniff.]--the A-listers get DUIs in their limos and shack up with their costars and stuff.

[motioned]

Wait, what's a DUI? And shacking up?

[Forever oblivious to the actual movie.]

[crowsicle]

[He slides one hand under his shades for a second to rub his eyes.]

A DUI's a ticket for drunk driving. Or stoned driving. [Stops rubbing his eye and holds his hand up.] That means they're high on drugs. And I'm not gonna be the one that teaches you the other thing.
