Who: Frau, Kevin, Teito... and maybe someone at the medical center?
When: May 17th during the outbreak
Where: Frau's apartment and maybe the medical center?
Summary: Kevin comes to pick Mimsy up and finds Frau and Teito rather ill.
Warnings: It's Frau. That explains it all.
The past few days had pretty much sucked. Killing his mentor, devouring the souls of the corrupt, falling to the influence of the scythe, the guilt from the war... All of it had piled onto Frau and driven him down. He had started off just being more tired than usual, but the exhausted had slowly progressed into physical pain, and finally to dizziness and nausea. He'd been in bed, or at least the coffin that counted as his bed, for the entire day and had no intention of moving. Simply staying awake through the illness was trying for him. The only reason why he still was awake was Teito. His apprentice was also sick and quite a bit worse off than Frau. Unfortunately there was very little Frau could actually do to help Teito.
Thankfully, Kevin had mentioned that he would be stopping by to pick up Mimsy at some point. If it was soon, maybe Frau could convince him to get Teito to a doctor. The kid really needed it. While Frau didn't want to leave Teito alone, he knew he couldn't go to a doctor. With how sick he was, someone would look over him and realize he wasn't exactly one of the living. That was something he needed to avoid. He would simply have to trust Teito to the hands of the doctors and maybe convince a friend to go and check on him from time to time as well. Frau sighed, though it came out as more of a groan, and closed his eyes, hoping Kevin would show up soon.

"Teito's alright?"
The words were mumbled and slurred more than they had been when Kevin had first shown up.

"ICU at General hospital." He answered, picking both Tolly and Mimsy up and putting them with Frau. Mimsy, at least, curled up with him. "I... Miss Unohana was there. I left him with her. She won't let nothin' happen t'him." He trusted Unohana to take care of everyone. He was already planning on making her tarts or something in thanks.
He tucked an extra blanket around Frau. "I'm gonna go warm ya up some soup. Gotta get some fluids in ya."
no subject
"Mn."
He'd try to eat it, but he wasn't all that sure he would be able to stay awake that long. It was already difficult, and more than anything else he just wanted to go to sleep.
no subject
"Go to sleep, Frau. I'll make ya somethin' t'eat an' drink." He had the fixings for several types of tea.
He tucked the blanket around Frau and ruffled Mimsy's ears. Then he went to start preparing things in the kitchen. A nice thick broth, a light tea, maybe some bread. Nothing major, but Kevin hoped it'd help.

He slept like the dead, which considering who he was, made sense. Still, there wasn't any movement at all from him. Even the coughing that had been present when he was awake had subsided in sleep.

Stuffing a straw in a big mug, he carried it back into the bedroom. "Mimsy, go eat." She jumped down off the bed at her name but sat staring at him. HELLO DADDY!
"Frau? Frau, c'mon, ya gotta drink this. Tolly, move ya pain in the ass."

After enough time struggling to wake up only to find that it just wasn't possible, Frau decided to screw being careful. He trusted Kevin. All he could do now was hope the kid wouldn't be too creeped out by the skeletal figure cloaked in black that just rose from Frau's body to hover to the side. If, of course, Kevin could even seen it. Frau wasn't all that sure he'd be able to.
no subject
So why this thing? Why? Why were his powers messing with him so hard?
Mimsy was truly fierce and hid behind his legs, whimpering with her tail between her legs.
Kevin squeezed his eyes shut and shook his head. He wasn't seeing a skeleton. He wasn't!
no subject
"Go on back, darn thing."
Tolly purred, rubbing up against his hand one more before returning to her spot on Frau's body.

Mimsy whimpered against his legs. His fierce protector.
"... Frau?" Was this Frau? Or something else? Mutant power? His hand tightened on the warm mug. Maybe he could throw it at the thing. But that'd leave Frau alone. Not a good plan.

Frau wanted to rest his hand on the kid's head like he usually did, but from the look on Kevin's face that would not be a good idea. If he moved any closer, Kevin could very well try to attack him. While Frau wasn't worried about Kevin hurting Frau's physical body, things could go wrong and something could happen. If it did, there was nothing Frau could really do to defend his physical self when he was in Zehel's form.

Kevin's mind raced over all of his old lessons. Everything from the school. Something about telepaths...
"Astral projection?" It was the only thing that made sense.
no subject
Hopefully that would be enough for now. If not, Frau would give the full explanation. He'd also make sure that Kevin knew he couldn't share these details with anyone else. Not that Frau really figured he would even without a warning not to.
no subject
He shoved a hand through his hair. "But what about...?" He kind of vaguely gestured at the physical body he'd come here to take care of.
no subject
"It's a vessel."
An incredibly shortened version of the truth. Frau's body was the vessel for the ghost Zehel. While Frau's personality and soul still existed, they had been intertwined with Zehel the moment he'd died. In reality "Frau" hadn't existed after that moment. Only it hadn't mattered in Frau's case since nobody who knew the Frau of before was still alive to recognize the Frau of after.
no subject
However, it gave him a context with which to work. Because even if 'Frau' was a vessel, the vessel had to be taken care of. "He's still gotta get up an' drink this. Won't make him better but it'll keep 'im from gettin' sicker."
He had to take care of Frau. Frau had taken care of him.
no subject
At least not really. When Zehel was out of Frau's body, there wasn't a soul in Frau's body anymore. It was one of the dangers of going far from it.
"I would have woken like that if I could have."

And, honestly, Frau wasn't overly concerned about the sickness getting too bad. He didn't usually get sick. Having a dead body as a vessel meant it could handle for more than the average human's.
no subject
He knew it was in his tone of voice. Whatever had happened, had scared the living piss out of him. He did not want to go through it again, but he would... especially if it was Frau that was in there.
no subject
"No. Why?"
no subject
"Good. 'Cause I don't wanna have t'go back in there, but I would, if'n they'd gotten ya."
no subject
"What happened in there, Casper?"
no subject
"They were makin' things. Things that shouldn't never see the light o' day." He didn't say what they were, but they were horrific. "I killed one o' the scientists. Almost got killed." He rubbed his left side almost unconsciously. The angel, Zachariah, had healed him, completely and without a scar, but the fear of looking down and seeing his body open was still there.
"I almost did die in there. Weren't supposed t'happen, not like that. We was just goin' in t'look, but the Void done showed up... an' things went bad."
no subject
"Why didn't you tell me?"
He hated knowing that Kevin had been suffering over this all on his own. If Frau had known, he could have helped in the aftermath.
