Who: Jubilee |
thelittlestbub & Alan Humphries |
amongthethorns
When: May 22nd afternoon
Where: Eric & Alan's Apartment
Summary: So Alan's found hishusb-Boyfriend roommate is MIA. He's furious but after an interesting call from Jubilee he's swallowed it down for now and packed an over-night bag.
Warnings: None other than a slightly cranky Alan
It's not until after Alan's stopped replying to Jubilee and pulling together a small bag that something clicks. It clicks so hard it floors him with the force of it and he has to sit down. Eric's note had said he was moving things at the doctor's rooms that he'd be gone a few days but now suddenly this woman, who he has no reason to disbelieve or even really believe for that matter, calls him; offers him a place to stay. All he can think at the moment is that something happened but he shoves that aside with a firm shake of his head. If something had happened someone would have contacted him and they'd have told him over the phone rather than pretending.
"Don't be silly, Alan. " He forces himself to his feet because there's nothing he can do otherwise. He only knows of two people Eric knew and getting into touch with his boss and senior wouldn't be difficult. He wouldn't let himself get upset about this. Instead he busies himself in folding up some clothes to tuck into his bag, muttering under his breath. "DEATH, Where does he get off? Making me fuss like this, wandering off. Sending total strangers to coddle me when he's not around like a toddler in need of a sitter..."

She started counting on her fingers. How many people were living in the HoA currently? "Umm, 10 maybe? And a hellhound. There might be as much as a dozen or so, with folks coming and going. Don't worry. Most of us feed ourselves." She didn't mind ordering out. She knew the best places, of course.
Her eyebrows rose. "I always put up a warning sign, so it's not like you'll walk in on me accidentally, dude. Just... sometimes it's the only place to sunbathe."

Fates save him from being buried in takeout boxes. Well he always did cook too much for one or two people, purposefully doing so wouldn't be a stretch. It would keep him busy.
He laughs and rubs at the back of his neck. "Sorry. I wasn't trying to be rude." His nerves were just frazzled. "I've never heard of a greenhouse being used for that either, in my defense." And then he's zipping up his bag, fussing with it a bit. The fussing doesn't stop with the bag, then his coat sleeves, his tie; lastly, a slight adjustment to his glasses. His free hand slips into his pocket gripping the NV, the ericas in their perfect prison, forever frozen in bloom.
"I'm ready if you are." Only he's not, not at all but he knows it's that Eric would want him to do. So he'll swallow down the unease, the knot building in his stomach and smile.

"As for a cook? Eh, old habits die hard. Anyone that lives with us has to be completely trusted and... well, that's not always easy to do." Jubilee did not believe in having servants. It was why everyone had chores. Because letting people into the HoA could cause problems. Problems they'd already been through once.
She bumped open the door to the outside and slipped her sunglasses on. "That's okay, I'm usually the only one that uses it that way. Helmet?" She offered him the one she'd been carrying. She wore it when she was alone on the bike to make Magneto feel better because he knew she was reckless when it was just her alone. When there was someone else? She played nice and behaved herself.

He arched a brow, tilting his head as he took the stairs after her. "If that's the case are you sure they'll be alright with someone like me coming into the house? No offense but you don't know me from a stranger on the street, I could be a crazed serial killer."
Then again he could ask himself that same question and the answer he assumed was the same in both cased. Eric. Both sides trusted Eric and that made them willing to trust each other. Alan took the helmet looking it over before settling it into place, adjusting the straps.

She just laughed at the serial killer comment. "Nah. Michael trusts you guys. If he trusts you, I can trust you. He's far more paranoid than I am." She winked over her shoulder and kickstarted the Harley. The engine roared to life and she scowled for a moment. She needed to do some tune up work on it.
"Hold on; have us home in a jiff!" At least she was a good driver.

"Is he? Well it's a wise thing to be cautious with your well-being." He slid onto the bike behind her after looking it over curiously. He'd have to get a closer look when they got there after all he'd never seen something like this.
"R-right!" His arms wrapped around her waist and he held to her tightly.

She drove straight into the garage, and killed the engine. "Here we are, home sweet home. Just leave the helmet on the bike. I'll probably be going out later, anyway." She slipped off the bike.
"Want the tour? Or just to go to your new place?"

Alan slid from the bike then settled the helmet in place stretching. "A bit of a tour might be nice. Just to get me familiar with the important things. I can scout around and explore a bit on my own. Just the basics is more than fine.."

Or stole them, which ever.
"Most of our produce comes from the greenhouse. WE're looking to expand it too, so hey,. get in requests now."

He tilted his head a little. "Why would I? I mean-" He trailed off frowning. "How long does Eric want you to keep me here?" Even as he said it there was a flare of bitterness and anger. If he expected him to just sit back and live with total strangers with no kind of fuss Eric was absolutely mistaken.
SOOOO SORRY! I lost the tag D:
"He asked if you could stay. Because you were friends with Michael, I said sure. Whether you live here or not? That's your choice." She was not holding anyone captive, dammit. "But just because you don't live here? Doesn't mean one; that you're not a friend or two; that you can't make a request for our new greenhouse." Because, friends, you see? "Everything else is up to you."
Happens to me -all- the time.
He grinned a bit then clasped his hands behind his back "If that offer of accepting my suggestions is still there. Since it's summer I'd certainly suggest watermelon, ground cherries and any of the berries but especially strawberries."
