((Ok so here's what we're going to do. There's two threads - 21st-30th and 31st to the 7th. The first thread, Jubes is in a coma. So if you want to come bug Magneto or talk to a comatose Jubilee, use that. If you want to talk to her, she'll be coming out of it on the 30th - Mags will be ESPECIALLY protective that day, so short visits, but the second thread covers more visit time. K?))

[He's beyond pleased to see her up and conscious] Jubilee! [What is volume control?]

Happy day of birth! How old are you? Trust me when I say, you do not look a day over sixteen. I got you a present, do you wish to open it?

[She jumps at the loud sound. Her nerves are pretty shot too. Take it easy on her.]

L-l-l-loki!

[She's glad to see him. She's been worried about him. Because she knew he might not understand why she had to be hidden. But the stutter. The twitches of her muscles, the occasional uncontrolled fluttering of her eyelids.... Those are the reasons she can't be known to the public. She's too vulnerable and she knows it. But Loki? She trusts him. She trusts him to pull pranks, and piss off people... and to not rat her out.]

H-h-hug?

[He steps forward to give her the gentlest of hugs, as though Jubes is made of spun glass and he's afraid of shattering her entirely. The truth is, seeing her like this, the stutter the twitches, it frightens him. Deeply. He is not entirely sure why, perhaps seeing one of strength reduced to such a state.]

How are you? [He's speaking softly now.]

[Her hug is weak, but it's definitely a Jubilee hug. She'll get stronger and probably end up tackling him in the hallway for a proper hug one day. Possibly in public to be the most embarrassing.]

B-b-be fine.

[She wants him to know that. It may take time, but she'll be fine. Eventually.]

Yes. Of course you will. Because... you have to be. [That is simply how things are. And if she hugs him in public, he'll melt into a puddle of teenage embarrassment.]

Anyway, I uh... well, here is your present, you might not need to use it for a while, at least. [A smallish box wrapped in brown paper that someone, likely Loki, has drawn small caricatures of the X-men on it and wrapped the thing in an absurdly large bow. Inside the box is leather and on a thin leather cord with a gold clasp is a small, sealed vial with a greenish liquid in it that gives off a very faint glow.]

[That's why it has to be in public. Maximum embarrassment.

She gently cradles the vial in her hand and looks up at Loki in question. It's not that she doesn't trust Loki, but he is, well, him.]

Think of it as a .... magical glowstick. In the dark, it expands into light. The lesser Darkness monsters fear it. You know, to keep the small, petty creatures off your case when you are out at night.

[She smiles and pats a place near her.]

H-h-h-how m-m-much trouble?

[She knows you.]

Not much at all, truly. [He sits down where she pats and tries to keep from fidgeting as a teenager is want to do.] I have tried very hard to be good and to only fight evil.

[That's an interesting turn of phrase for him.]

Yes! With a team. And secret identities! [He is way too excited over that.] They are a bit slow, so I compensate by limiting my magic with them.

[She just stares. She knows who is running it, and she can guess a couple people involved, but crap Loki's there? If Bats ever shows up again...]

C-c-careful. Kay?

[Loki had rather good rapport with Bats' other persona, Matches. Even gave him a free favor.]

Tsk! I am always careful, it is them that I worry about. Also, we have no true villains to test our mettle against. I am thinking of moonlighting as one.

[She doesn't know that. But, seriously? Working with anyone close to Bats puts her on edge. She rolls her eyes at his suggestion that he moonlights.]

M-m-magneto.

[Obviously, he is the solution. He's done the whole villain thing too.]

[And he just Looks at her]

Jubilee, I do not wish to see them killed.

[Jubilee's dirty look just slams toward Loki.]

N-n-not kill.

[It's as snarled as she can make it.]

Ch-children. N-n-never kill.

Ack! [Oops.] I do not mean kill dead, more, obliterate their tiny egos into fragile shards.

[She shakes her head.]

N-n-n-no ego better.
