When: Thursday, July 12th; early afternoon.
Where: THE BEEEEEACH!
Summary: Basically, the Stoker household are going out for a -relaxing- day at the beach. Hurr.
Warnings: Possible language? SHENANIGANS. I'll edit if anything comes up.


How long had it been since Integra had last seen the ocean in all of its glory? Let alone a beach; such a trip was few and far between, unless it was directly involved with work somehow. Today, however, was not about work, but play.

Well, for most of the people coming along. For Integra, it was about sitting on the beach and simply admiring the view. And probably feeling insanely uncomfortable in a swimsuit, but THAT was a completely different issue all together. The very thought had her tugging her jacket ever so slightly tighter around her form.

Stepping onto the sand carrying in her hand a cooler full of ice, drinks, little snacks, and even a few blood packs for the resident vampires, she turned to glance at her fellow beach-goers, tilting her head. "...Where are we setting up?"

Her cheeks visibly turned pink at that, and she had to fight off the INSANE NEED to flail her arms at him. Instead, she merely narrowed her gaze at the ocean.

"No, I don't. I go to great lengths to hide everything. I can't be like..." a pause, and then she pointed an accusing finger at Seras, who was just sort of. Jiggling all over the fucking place. "Like that. No. No."

"You know, not all women jiggle," Soma replied, trying not to laugh. "Most Japanese women are flat, and most one pieces um... hold them down pretty well."

Not that... he really... you know, noticed much. Or anything.

[integra_hellsing]

Integra just sort of stared at him, her left eye twitching. HE WASN'T HELPING. Instead of doing much, however, she merely shrunk further into her towel.

"Yes, well, it isn't just that. It just-- I was not raised to dress inappropriately. I haven't even worn a dress in years, not since I was a little girl. I just wanted to wear a suit today, but Seras--" Another accusing jab in the poor Police Girl's direction. "insisted on bathing suits instead. To hell with that."

"But... there's nothing inappropriate about a bathing suit," he replied, a bit confused by her definition of "inappropriate". "They're sold in public shops because they're socially acceptable, no matter how risque they get."

"I just don't like them," she replied back wearily. Honestly, she really DID go to great lengths to hide almost every feminine aspect of a good portion of her life. This was fucking it up, and she didn't like it. Why couldn't anyone but her see that?

Perhaps if she'd been born with a different last name and could have lead a more normal life, she'd think differently. "Men can get away with it," she grumbled. "They don't have anything to hide."

"We have plenty to hide!" Soma tried to protest.

[integra_hellsing]

Poor Soma. "It isn't the same, and you know it. Men don't have to worry about being as decent in public as women do, although looking at most of the women here, they don't seem to really care about being decent," she replied tiredly, simply tugging her towel closer.

"Maybe it's just... different on your world," Soma suggested. "Or... I dunno, maybe you just too used to being around other men?"

[integra_hellsing]

"...Soma, thus far, even you have said that our worlds are almost exactly the same, except for the Dracula ordeal," came her blunt response. "How would this be any different?" She paused a bit, before shrugging. "...Perhaps. I don't have any female friends... well. Seras is my first one."

"Well, it's not like we talked much about what's socially acceptable on your world," he replied, before flipping over onto his back, folding his arms behind his head.

"Maybe it's better that you find more female friends?" he suggested. "Some more, uh... less bouncy ones."

[integra_hellsing]

"I'm sure it's all the same," she replied with a huff, before attempting not to just throw the bottle of sunscreen back at his head for that last comment. Honestly, men...

"Why would I want to do that? Women, for the most part, enjoy giggling and running around malls and going out and getting drunk and waking up with strange people they've never met and had no intention of originally sleeping with to begin with," she replied honestly. She'd probably seen one too many movies, but you know.

"That one, for instance," she stated suddenly, pointing at an oblivious blonde who was busy twirling her hair and leeeeaning against some guy. "It would appear that all of the bleach she used in her hair has sunk into her brain."

"I think you've been watching too many movies..." Soma muttered. "Not all women are like that."

[integra_hellsing]

"Most women are," she replied, shrugging. "But you're probably right. I've never had a woman in my life, my mother died when I was young, so it's really only ever been my father and Walter... and then Alucard, after my father died."

"...right, you really need some women in your life," Soma replied, wishing that Mina was here. She'd be able to set her straight with very little effort.

[integra_hellsing]

"I do not," she frowned. "In any case, it doesn't matter. Back to the issue at hand, I don't feel like blinding the entire beach with my hideous... swimsuit, thank you."

He gave her a bland look. "I doubt it's that bad."

[integra_hellsing]

"It is," she supplied with a shrug. "I don't mind, though. I'd rather just keep it to myself, however."

"I don't believe you could look bad in anything," Soma replied before he could catch himself. The implications of what he said sunk in after a moment, and he turned a vivid shade of red. "I-I mean...!"

[integra_hellsing]

...It took her a few seconds to realize what he'd said, too. Instead of getting angry like she might have done with others, she merely sighed and smiled slightly. The fact that he was turning so bloody red was just an added bonus, although she was fairuly sure her own cheeks were tinging pink. "That's kind of you to say, Soma. Thank you."

He thought for sure that she was going to yell at him... and instead she was thanking him? Soma turned an even fresher shade of red, ducking his head.

"Uh... y-you're welcome."

[integra_hellsing]

Poor Soma. The color on his cheeks was amusing her further and further, and the sudden urge to tease him was right there. She didn't, though; the poor young man didn't deserve that, although he certainly left himself open.

"You are the first person other than Alucard or Walter to say something like that to me," she responded with a hum. "But in all seriousness, it really would be blinding."

He was silent for a moment, before peering at her shyly.

"...can I see?"

She blinked. She hadn't been expecting him to say that, dammit. She'd assumed the subject would be dropped. "...You really want to risk your vision?"

There was a pause, before she quickly glanced around, to make sure no one else was looking. With a soft sigh, she finally allowed herself to shift onto her knees. "Alright. You aren't allowed to laugh, though."

With that, and another quick glance around, she made sure that no one else was looking, before she finally allowed herself to drop her towel ever so slightly. She honest to God looked, briefly, horrified to be doing so, and she was fully expecting him to start laughing. She paused, shifting to allow her hair to fall over and cover up the scar that marred her right shoulder.

Soma was too busy staring to really notice the scar. Instead of laughing, he just sat there, mouth slightly open, before he managed to get himself together.

"You... really are beautiful..."

...apparently not together enough.

She visibly relaxed a bit when she realized he wasn't going to poke fun at her, and that she wasn't going to need to throttle him for making some weirdo comment. Her cheeks flushed, and she was attempting to force said blush back, because really... she had a reputation to keep to.

"...You're being far too kind, but thank you," she replied, unsure as to whether or not she was supposed to just... wrap herself up again, or not. For now, she opted to just let her towel hang over her shoulders, but she did keep glancing around, somewhat paranoid.
