who: Eponine and Mr. Gold
what: Eponine needs to fence a couple of rings she 'found', and Mr. Gold might be interested
when: Mid day, on Eponine's lunch break
where: Mr. Gold's shop
warnings shouldn't be any... Should there?

((Please Excuse bad coding. So much more difficult on a phone.))

Eponine made her way quickly through the streets to where Mr. Gold's shop was located. She didn't have a great deal of time. Between working at Afterglow and for Xino E. Mao, as well as as an assistant at the university, she didn't have much free time. That was the way she liked it. But now, she realised, she needed her own room somewhere. And she needed money. She really hoped her rings were gold.

As she reached the shop, she tapped on the window before she entered.
"Monsieur Gold?"

The bell above the door gave a little ring when she came inside, and Mr. Gold looked up from where he was polishing a set of silver cutlery.

"Hello. You're the one I talked to on the phone, yes?" He placed the fork he was polishing into the box, shutting it and folding the cloth to the side. "Please, come in."

Mr. Gold really doesn't care where they're from, so long as he doesn't get in trouble with the original owners for it. Not that they would ever know, but he needed to have some sort of integrity.

Taking both of them, he set them on the counter, pulling out a small diamond inspector. The red and gold seemed to be fake at first, but on closer inspection, it did turn out to be very much real. The blue and diamond one also appeared to be fake, on first glance. Thankfully, with both of them real, that meant he could accept them.

"Well, my dear, it looks like you'll be able to buy yourself a new pair of shoes, and a change of clothes. These are very nice, indeed. Whoever left these to you in their will must have liked you very much."

"What sort of room?" Mr. Gold asked casually, pulling out a book so he could quickly jot down some notes. Simple ones, like the shape, size, stone, and quality of the rings, checking them against his other notes.

"Hm. The economy is on a downward spiral, so you came to me with them just in time. I'd like to offer you a fair price for them, perhaps a little bit more, if I can swing it."

"I think you'll be able to get much more then any old roof. Perhaps even enough to get some new clothes and some shoes. I would hate to see you lose a toe because of some infection," Mr. Gold looked down at his calculations.

"Twenty? As in twenty dollars?" Chuckling, he whipped out his checkbook. "These rings are a very superior quality. For the sapphire and diamond, I'll give you four thousand. For the second, considering the type of gold, I can only give you two thousand for it. So, six thousand dollars for the both of them. Does that seem fair to you?"

"I'd personally get a nice, loft apartment instead of a house, but to each his or her own," Mr. Gold chuckled. "That you are, dearie. As long as you use it well, you won't have to worry about taxes."

He held up his checkbook. "So, cash or check?"
