who: Eponine and Mr. Gold
what: Eponine needs to fence a couple of rings she 'found', and Mr. Gold might be interested
when: Mid day, on Eponine's lunch break
where: Mr. Gold's shop
warnings shouldn't be any... Should there?
((Please Excuse bad coding. So much more difficult on a phone.))
Eponine made her way quickly through the streets to where Mr. Gold's shop was located. She didn't have a great deal of time. Between working at Afterglow and for Xino E. Mao, as well as as an assistant at the university, she didn't have much free time. That was the way she liked it. But now, she realised, she needed her own room somewhere. And she needed money. She really hoped her rings were gold.
As she reached the shop, she tapped on the window before she entered.
"Monsieur Gold?"

"Monsieur Gold?"

Her eyes shone at the thought of her own room; she could live with ragged clothes, and having bare feet was completely natural after ten years of not wearing shoes.
"I think he did like me... I am glad they are real. Please, Monsieur, how much?"
no subject
"Hm. The economy is on a downward spiral, so you came to me with them just in time. I'd like to offer you a fair price for them, perhaps a little bit more, if I can swing it."

She sighed. She had liked those two. But to go back after trying to sleep with Alan would be embarrassing.
"You are kind, Monsieur. Any money will do. Ten? Twenty, cos there's two?"
no subject
"Twenty? As in twenty dollars?" Chuckling, he whipped out his checkbook. "These rings are a very superior quality. For the sapphire and diamond, I'll give you four thousand. For the second, considering the type of gold, I can only give you two thousand for it. So, six thousand dollars for the both of them. Does that seem fair to you?"

She had never even heard of so much, let alone thought she'd possess it. Finally, she managed to whisper,
"Really? Really and truly? For me? I - I - wow..."
And then she began to smile. "I can buy a house and food and clothes and still have enough left... I'm rich again!"

He held up his checkbook. "So, cash or check?"
