Picnic time!

Who: Kevin, Bruce, Mimsy and all the invitees
When: Sunday August 5th Noon - ?
Where: Kevin and Bruce's pad.
Summary: Kevin invited some people for a picnic/barbecue thing, hopefully they all stop by.
Warnings: Kevin's temper, possibly Crowley/Magneto, Miss Unohana smiling. Will add others as necessary.

Kevin has spent the last couple of days cooking, baking and cleaning the house with Mimsy and Bruce's help.

He's moved everything outside and will be manning the grill, and making sure that everything is nice and ready.

Some foods on offer:

Typical grill fare (burgers, dogs, sausages, chicken)
Corn on the cob (on the grill!)
Salads (macaroni, potato, three bean, regular lettuce salad, egg, tuna, and chicken)
Fresh vegetables with dip
Fried okra
Greens
Potatoes au gratin
Eggplant lasagna
Fried fish and hushpuppies
Pies/cobblers (blackberry, strawberry/rhubarb, apple cobbler w/streusel topping, blueberry, pecan pie)
Cakes/cupcakes (devil's food, carrot, vanilla)

All buns/breads are homemade, by Kevin as are all the desserts. There are two huge tables of food with paper plates. There are three coolers of drinks (one saved for alcoholic drinks brought by the guests). Mimsy is trolling for food, Kevin's wearing an inhibitor, and all are welcome!

Anyone who fights will be asked to leave and then removed. Kevin's in a mood, and just wants to have fun.

[Frau rubs at his hair, feeling slightly bad that he's already alienating Kevin's new housemate.]

[Bruce rubs his hands together in a barely-noticed nervous habit.]

Yeah, well, he's had a lot to deal with. I just got a head start with him because there's a Bruce Banner where he's from.

Figures. As long as you're good to him, I don't care.

I'll do what I can not to make him regret giving me a place to live.

You do that. Not that for him that's very hard. The kid has a good heart.

Yeah, he really does. He's been very generous to me, and I never see him being anything but good-intentioned.

[Not that Kevin believed Frau when he pointed out those good things.]

Are you from his home? I didn't catch your name.

No. We met here. Bishop Frau. I'm from Barsburg.

Barsburg? Germany? Austria? Don't take it personally, but you look a little young for my notion of a bishop.

The Barsburg Empire. I haven't met anyone here who knows where that is.

[He shrugs.]

You can take the bishop exam as young as you'd like. Usually it's around 16. After a few years as an apprentice you're a full fledged bishop. I'm 24.

Yeeaah, I've never heard of it; is it some kind of theocracy or are there just a lot of young clerics out there?

It's ruled by a king, but the church has it's own power and isn't ruled by them.

If it works, it works, and if it doesn't, I guess I'm sorry? [Hard to get too wound up about a world he'll only ever know about in theory.]

[Frau chuckles.]

Minus the destruction of an entire kingdom.

[That's added a bit more solemnly because he knows the reason Raggs was destroyed.]

[Bruce does a bit of a double-take, because who really says that destroying an entire kingdom counts as a system working?]

Do I really want to know the story behind that?

No, and I wouldn't tell it anyway.

[Not only because it was incredibly personal and revealing, not including ungodly long, but also because he didn't know the full story. There were still so many knots and tangles in the truth, that none of them really knew the entire reason for the war and the destruction it had brought.]

How about I just get you something to drink instead? Water? Are you over 21? I can get you a beer.

[Only Teito would kick his ass about it if he saw.]

Doubt it, or at least it's not enforced. You can get about anything you want here regardless of who you are as long as you know where to look.

Yeah, but it's Kevin's party, so let's err on the side of caution. I'll play the good sub-host and get you some tea, then I should go pretend that all these people aren't freaking me out a little. [He smiles to make it unclear whether he's joking or serious.]

[Both of them are highly irritating when they want to be. Together? Frau doesn't even want to consider it.]

[Frau glances around for a bit until he spots Teito.]

The shrimp over there. Brown hair, green eyes.

Sure I like him, when he's not randomly disappearing on me, causing trouble, hitting me, or burning my porn.
