Who: Jubilee and Sam Winchester
When: August 9th-ish?
Where: HoA
Summary: Jubes found out that Sam was back, and wanted to see a friend.
Warnings: Medical things, a stutter? Otherwise, no.
Jubilee sat in the chair by the door, waiting. She had missed Sam. He was a nice guy.
... Or at least the last couple had been. She hoped this one was too. She's got her yellow coat spread across her lap, doing an inventory check on it. Most things haven't expired, but there's a small pile of things that need to be tossed.
She really needed to do this more often.
She glanced up, when someone walked in. "Sam!" She brightened. Carefully laying her coat to the side, Jubilee grabbed a cane and pushed herself up.
"I'm J-J-Jubilee."

"Deadpool's family." The words were simple, loaded, and honest. She considered Deadpool family. They were from the same world, understood the same references. "Weird, kinda not sure you wanna claim family, but family. Who buys me ice cream when I ask prettily."
Or just asked, really. Ever since she'd been hurt, he'd been extra awesome about it. She tried not to abuse it much.
"Why?"

There didn't seem to be any harm in him. Jubilee seemed nice enough, too, and if she considered Deadpool family, then they'd both fall under the ally category. As far as he knew.
"It helps, having people around you consider family." He would know.

Jubilee smiled. "Yeah, it totally does. I wouldn't be here, except for some of them." Although, dying might have been the quicker cure. Maybe. Probably not. Bad idea!
"So, wanna quick tour? Basement, condos, greenhouse...?" Jubilee needed to double check that Magneto wasn't sunbathing first before they hit the greenhouse though.
no subject
"Oh-- Yeah. Sounds good to me." Now, there's a more natural smile, and he nods at the offer. Good way to get his mind off things, and reacquaint himself with the people he didn't remember.
no subject
She believed that with all her heart.
"C'mon, we'll start at the top. We've got plans for a bigger greenhouse, but with me injured, it's kinda gone on the back burner for a little while." Yes, there's an elevator. She pushes the button for the roof. "It's Darkness proofed, like the house, so that helps. If you need help after sirens, don't hesitate to call."
no subject
"Alright," he says, following her as they start to move. "So, how'd you get the place Darkness-proofed, anyway? I mean, is that... sort of a common thing here?"
no subject
"Darkness proofing is SOP around the Port. There are do-it-yourself kits, people that specialize in it, all that sorts of fun stuff." She leaned back against the wall. "Michael does it for us, since, well, mechanically inclined, I am not."
Plus, she'd probably screw it up.
"There can be breaches, but that only happened here once and it was my fault." Jubilee shrugged.
no subject
"If there's a breech--" he started, frowning slightly at the thought, "Is there a... I don't know, response team? Someone, or some group, to come help you out if you can't handle it?"
Not everyone's a fighter, after all. He senses that Jubilee can handle herself, but what about everyone else in the Port?
no subject
"When Superman was here, he could be counted on. The folks that took over that group don't want folks that can help, but folks that will fall in line." She shrugged, nudging Tux further into the greenhouse.
Jubilee had opinions about that little group. Namely, that they weren't doing any good. They were in it for the press - as their press had borne out - and god only knew how often people were actually out in the Darkness.
"Most folks either stay in - and thus have immediate access to their NVs - or they make plans not to go out alone."
no subject
Superman? He can't help cracking a smile. This place seemed like its surprises would never end. He nods at the information, smile falling slightly.
"Guess that makes sense," he said, shrugging. "It's safe, at least."
no subject
She wasn't bitter at all. Nope.
"Unless the proofing goes. Sometimes it does. It's one of those constant upkeep things." She shrugged a bit. "And we're constantly updating the security here. I don't even know half of it, any more."
She blinked. "Sorry, babbling again."
no subject
"It's fine," he said quickly, flashing her a smile. "Honestly? This is the kind of stuff I'm interested in hearing. Being new, it's... harder than you'd think to get all of the info straight."
no subject
"Anything you wanna know about, I can try to answer. Though, I babble, so, ya know."
