Who: Phibrizzo and OPEN
When: September 4th, between 10am and 4pm (just specify when your character is stopping in)
Where: The Seyrunn Shop of Sorcery
What: Business at a magic shop
Warnings: Probably no more than PG
The Seyrunn Shop of Sorcery had two selling points that distinguished them from other magic shops in the city: the magic amulets with spells pre-loaded into them, and Brass Rackets - a sport from the co-owners' world that used enchanted rackets. Neither item required magic ability. Other wares in the shop, such as their selection of magical herbs, ritual items, and other supplies, were for people who were actually magic users. However, the amulets could be used by anyone as a self-defense item against the Darkness monsters, and the rackets depended on the user's strength of will and force of personality.
At the moment, Phibrizzo was placing some of the magic amulets in a sturdy clear glass cabinet that locked. Spotting someone approaching him from the side, he turned to greet them.
"Hello. What can I do for you, today?"

It was just good business sense to be well-mannered with customers. Rudeness would ensure the clientele went to the competition. Anyone who harassed people here for being Newcomers, however, was fair game for showing them the door. If necessary, using a wind spell to blow them out said door was an option. However, the Seyrunn Shop of Sorcery was an AGI sponsored business, and they hadn't faced any harassment thus far. Harassing known magic users was rather stupid, anyhow.
"You're right, magic is tricky. But it's also pretty useful, and sometimes it's fun. Warping the dimensional space in the shop took a lot of work."

"We also offer Darkness proofing," he mentioned. "Which is a pretty popular service. If you've ever been to the Uzushio Ryokan, I'm the one who did all the Darkness proofing there."

"I've never heard of the Uzushio Ryokan. Is it a type of club?"

"Ice spells and fire spells usually cancel each other out, so casting the magic from this would work if you knew the fire magic was coming. Otherwise, you could order a custom made item, which might be useful if the person was targeting your home."
He was a little curious as to who this aggressive pyromaniac was, but he didn't pry. That was impolite and a good way to discourage business.
"The Uzushio Ryokan is a luxury inn with a restaurant and a spa in sector six. My foster father Madara Uchiha owned it before the Core sent him home."

"Luxury inn and a restaurant... tell me, do people ever hire you to host a party? Or, more apt, a meet and greet for several people."

It was rather fun proving the skpeptics wrong, and it was interesting to see who enjoyed having magic power in the palm of their hands. Of course, they had to be careful not to market the amulets as weapons, but rather as self-defense tools. The flight spells would likely sell well, once they figured out how to teach a non-magic user how to control it properly. Many people dreamed of flight. Few ever achieved it.
"People do," Phibrizzo confirmed. "There's a large party room, and two smaller ones."

"I'd like to try one, if that's okay by you. Just to see what it's like, before I make a decision, of course," He would have to find a good one. Maybe he could take it apart, see the magic in it and hope to replicate himself? If he even could; he'd have to be careful.
"That sounds lovely. I may need to give you a call. I've a need for a place to hold a celebration at, I haven't been too thrilled with some of the places here."

"How about an ice spell?" he asked, pulling a pale blue amulet out from the cabinet. As with any of the other amulets Phibrizzo pulled out for demonstrations, it was loaded with a single spell.
"Feel free to contact me personally," he offered. "You're also welcome to drop by, but I'm spending my time here and at the Uzushio, so it's probably better to call first."

Provided there were ten or more booking, that was. But that was something they could discuss when he called either the Uzushio or Phibrizzo personally. He opened the door to the back room, and pointed to the target.
"There's a magic barrier on the target to keep Xellos and I from having to replace it every time someone tries out an amulet," he explained. "All you need to do is aim at the target. People with archery experience sometimes aim it like they're shooting an arrow. Some people aim it like they're throwing a spear. Everyone else just points their hand out at the target and aims that way. Focus on hitting the target, and call out 'FREEZE ARROW', and the spell will do the rest."

"I'm not much of a fighter, archery or otherwise, but I'll give it a shot," Mr. Gold frowned at the target, pointing his hand at the target and saying in a loud and clear voice--
"Freeze Arrow."

"It's also a good spell to cast on someone's door if you want them to be stuck for a while," Phibrizzo remarked. "Or for getting a lot of ice on short notice."

"How much is this going for?"

They had more expensive ones that could be fitted into jewelry settings, but it was better to offer the cost-effective ones first.

"When you say other spells, do they need to be the same as the first, or can they be different?"
no subject
Both for quality control purposes, and because there was no sense in aiding the competition.
"We're experimenting with putting spells of the same type together, but so far they're the most reliable if you keep several charges of the same spell in them. If you'd like to sign up for our mailing list, we can have you notified if we introduce new items to the store."
