Live to tell the tale
Who: Yosuke Hanamura, Raphael and Amy Sorel
When: September 18th, afternoon
Where: The Sorels' home
Summary: Yosuke applies for a part-time job at the Sorels'. It's a pretty easy job, let's say.
Warnings: BLOOD
[The address Raphael gave him leads to what appears to have at one time been a church in a distant part of Sector 3- old, ornate, utterly worn-down, obviously untouched for decades if not longer. The knock on the door goes unanswered for a few minutes but at last the great wooden carving slides open a crack and a pair of glowing red eyes appears.]
Monsieur Hanamura. Come in.
[The door opens wide enough for him to come inside, but Raphael does not reveal himself until after it's closed, standing off to the side of the entryway until the last of the sunlight is gone. The interior of the church isn't nearly as creepy as the outside, appearing to have been cleaned up and cared for.
Dark curtains cover every window, though. That's a little disconcerting.
Raphael, however, is as calm and casual as if Yosuke were coming over for dinner.]
I hope it was not too difficult to find.

[Yosuke glances around, a little nervous but trying not to show it. He's still a lot jumpier around strangers than he ever used to be, thanks to the hunt. But he;s come here expecting the place to be creepy, so it's not a huge surprise. He swallows a little dryly, anyway.]
Nice...um. House?
no subject
Raphael gives him a practiced, slight bow.]
It is a pleasure to meet you in person. I am Raphael Sorel. You are welcome to make yourself at home here.
[Briskly, he motions for him to follow him.]
I have been prepared for your arrival.
no subject
Prepared, Sorel-san?
no subject
Would you rather I improvised? I dare say you'd like that option much less.

[He grimaces, and trips a little on one of the stairs. But he catches himself against the wall, and doesn't fall backwards.]
Yeah, let's not do that one.
no subject
You needn't worry. As I told you, I find being reduced to such savagery... distasteful, on some level.

[A creepy, creepy business arrangement.]
Right. You-that's true.
[Ulp.]

Raphael stops and looks at the door that houses Amy's bedroom, seeing it open a crack.]
Amy. Our guest is here. Come say hello.
no subject
She curtsies to Yosuke.]
no subject
Guest, huh? At least you guys treat your food kindly.
no subject
He makes a bit of a face at that last crack, though, clearing his throat.]
Let us not debase you with so crude of terms. You are our donor. And most generous to audition for it, as well.
[Briskly, he changes the subject. This is the side of Raphael most people in Siren's Port don't get to see, the gentleman noble raised perfect for the part from the time he could walk.]
Now then. May I see to your refreshment? I am told it helps to eat or drink something before we draw from you.

[Wow, if only he could shut up. Yosuke bites his tongue, hard, and does his best to wrench up a smile. Yeah, this is going well.]
Uh, some juice or something? That's-usually I drink that.
no subject
Yes. We have "people" food. [A little smirk that ends up quite disturbing, given his tone.] As I told you, our diet is ordinary, aside from certain... supplements that we consume from time to time.
[He glances at Amy.]
Amy, my dear, would you please get our guest something to drink? I will show him to the room.
no subject
[She turns to Yosuke.]
We have water and iced tea. Which would you prefer?
[The iced tea is something Amy picked up from the Phantomhive Estate before-- a chilled brewed tea. So it'll be bitter unless Yosuke puts some kind of sweetener into it.]
no subject
[He's not a big fan. In fact, he's been having a disagreement with Larry Butz about it. But saying "eugh, nevermind" would be a little too rude. Anyway, he won't have to really drink it, right? He can just say thanks and take a sip and then set it down somewhere.]
Have you ever, um, done this before, Sorel-san?
no subject
Yes and no. The equipment is new to me. However, I have been taught how to use it properly by a doctor.
[A smug little German jerk of a doctor who was teasing him about it the whole time, but a doctor nonetheless.
The spare room is another sitting room, though smaller and enclosed by a door. The curtains are drawn, as in the other rooms. A chaise lounge is set in the center of the room and there is a medical blood draw machine, much like you'd see at a blood bank, set up and ready to go.]
Please make yourself comfortable. I dare say you will find this part effortless.

It's just a little needle, right?
no subject
[Raphael is beginning to set it up, checking parts and plugs to make sure they are where they are meant to be. Professor Van Helsing was the one who taught him to use the thing, and he paid close attention. The last thing he wanted was to mess it up and end up in trouble again.]
Roll up your sleeve and have a seat, Monsieur Hanamura.

Sh'rry. Jushta shec.
no subject
Raphael hasn't seen any horror movies, though, so he has no idea how ridiculous this is becoming.]
In good time.

((ooc: Feel free to keep going without me until you need Amy's input ;; You don't have to wait for me while Amy's just at the side eating cookies.))
Okay, thanks!
