Who: Mary Winchester and her visitors~
When: 10/22 - 10/24
Where: Skye Medical
Summary: After surviving getting eaten by a grue, Mary has three fun days in the hospital before it gets worse.
Warnings: Injury, language, Lisbeth, and Winchesters.

[The night she comes in, the 21st, is taken up by surgery, family, and much-needed rest, but the next morning she wakes up slightly loopy from the drugs and ready to... stare woozily at the day. She has nasty scrapes on her face that required stitches, a patchwork of hideous bruises, a cast on one wrist, and bandages all over her body, including around her head, with several different IVs and a couple of monitors hooked up to her at once. Overall she looks like a hot mess, but she's coping better than anyone would expect, and when she isn't using her powers to throw things at Lisbeth, her roommate, she's taking visitors.

Some time between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, though, her condition worsens from an unforeseen complication, and she falls unconscious.]

[Raphael lashing out is expected, and so it's no shock when there's sudden blinding pain and Castiel drops to his knees on reflex, doubling over with one arm around his stomach and the other on the ground to support himself, hacking up a huge mouthful of blood. It's vessel damage, and he will heal, and Raphael's actions are proving more than Castiel's words ever could.

He raises his head just enough to see Mary hit Raphael, and though on some level he's pretty sure that's both humorous and impressive on another he's suddenly very very worried. Mary just put herself in a great deal of danger, and Castiel can't protect her like this.]

[If every angel has one thing in common it's this:

Arrogance.

Raphael never thought Mary could be a threat - so he's watching Castiel go down, making sure he doesn't drawn his sword. So he's completely caught off guard when Mary's knee hits, his vessel screaming at him, and it hurts enough to bend him forward, stomach recoiling in sudden nausea. It's fine. He's fine. He focuses on that and lets the action of leaning forward - it's what Donnie would do - cover him putting his hand on Mary's shoulder.

A wave of his fingers and a strong telekinetic blow to Castiel's damaged abdomen will hopefully keep him down for a few minutes while he turns his attention towards Mary.

And it's only Michael's request, to watch out for her, that stops him from actually hurting her.]

Some day you are going to learn not jump into situations you are woefully unable to handle Mary.

[He lets go of her shoulder, pushing her away firmly but still, mindful not to cause her harm - but claws a deep trench in the sand between her and them, and tries to cross to Castiel. It's more difficult than he would have thought.]

[Mary immediately tries to cross the trench, scrambling as fast as she can (and belatedly remembering her dad's first rule- never try to fight if all you can do is make the monster angry). When the yielding sand slips under her hands and she can't find even one foot hold, she twists in the sand, falling back on her heels and yelling at them.]

Fine! you want this to be messy? I'll call Gabriel.

[The second blow to his already severely injured organs is incredibly painful and he chokes up more blood, killing Raphael creatively in his mind several times over in less than a second. But his main focus is trying to get his lungs and heart working again so his grace isn't completely supporting the vessel, as even though this is a dream, injuries are very real to dreamwalking angels.

He looks up again to see Raphael approaching, but ignores him in favor of shaking his head once at Mary. Getting Gabriel involved in this would make things worse. He could take whatever Raphael dishes out, and escape when possible, and spend some time recovering and all would be fine. His point had been very clearly demonstrated, after all.]

Gabriel is my younger brother. He is not a threat.

[At least, he didn't believe so. He hadn't expected Gabriel to try to stab Lucifer though.

He stops a small distance away, blocking Castiel from Mary's line of sight. He ticks off with his index finger, crushing Castiel's distal phalanges, middle finger - fracture lines straight through his intermediate phalanges, ringer finger - proximal phalanges, smallest - metacarpals.]

[Mary would try harder to interfere- but the dream is hard to hold together as it is; Mary never learned how to do that "controlling your dreams" crap she read about, and this- she has no idea what would happen if she got hurt in here. So Mary watches the attack, utterly horrified, and prays loud enough so the angels can hear her.]

[Castiel's vessel's heart begins pumping again and he's reformed his lungs enough for them to function, though everything else is still crushed and he coughs up more blood to clear his lungs. At least he can speak now, and he lifts his head as Raphael approaches, then feels the crack of bones; that hurts, and more than that, there's some level of insult to it. It's precise and cold and reeks of superiority, and Castiel has to control himself from lashing out at Raphael now that he can focus to do so.

His attention though whips toward Mary at her prayer, because he really doesn't want Gabriel involved. That last thing anyone needs is an archangel fight, even if it would be nice to be rescued because this really isn't fun.]

[And without preamble, fanfare, or the accompanying trumpet solo, Gabriel materializes in the dream, looking like this is the last place he wanted to be right now. He looks at Mary, he looks at Raphael and Castiel, he notes what this looks like, and then he sighs in a manner of one on his last fuck to give.]

Really? Boys, you're both pretty, but she's married.

[He ignores Mary. Really. He's not killing Castiel, has no plans to. He does slice the tendons running to Castiel's fingers. Castiel may be attempting to make a point, but Raphael is making his own.]

Leave Gabriel.

[This wasn't solely about Mary anymore.]

[Snapped angrily-]

Why don't you leave?!

[No. Calmer.]

Gabriel, they both came in here to check up on me, and- [She gestures at the horrifying scene in front of her.]

[Castiel sends Gabriel a withering look for his comment, though he's glad to have another angel there to help, even if he's concerned about Gabriel and Raphael clashing. Maybe Gabriel will talk his way out of the whole situation.

That would require Raphael listening, though, which is the real issue.

He growls low in his throat in pain as he feels the tendons cut, drawing his hand back against his chest, still curled over but managing to balance on just his knees now as his organs continue to knit back together and lesson some of the pain and weakness.

He wants to say something scathing, something at Raphael, but he doesn't. He managed to keep his mouth shut for the moment, knowing that antagonizing the situation is a bad idea, no matter how much he might want to. So he lets the archangels argue for the moment, wondering briefly how long it would take for him to make an escape.]

It's not your brain, genius. [Gabriel glares at Raphael and notes Castiel's injuries. He figures there's no way to argue down his older brother, but Castiel's younger, injured, and not nearly as strong, so he claps a hand on Castiel's shoulder and raises a hand.]

But, hey, if you two wanna act like children, take it outside. [He snaps once and all but spiritually hauls Castiel out of the dream and back into the physical plane. No sooner are they out then he whirls on Castiel.]

What the heck was that? Is Mary rolling around in the angel crack again?

[No, there aren't many ways to argue down Raphael when he is in this kind of mood.

But he's also not willing to let this go yet either. He doesn't bother addressing Mary, simply leaves, following Gabriel.]

He decided to intrude.

[When they leave, Mary fades away, her dreams breaking apart as she sinks further into unconsciousness.]

[It's a great relief when Gabriel pulls him out of the dream, even if adjusting to both being in the real world and standing are kind of difficult at the moment. He sways on his feet, still mending organs, and spits some more blood off to the side so he can respond.

And then Raphael shows up, not unexpectedly, and Castiel really wants to be gone.]

I came to check on her. He was doing nothing.

[He being Raphael, of course, and nothing being 'helping'.]

[Gabriel looks between them and then sighs in exasperation.] When did I become the mature one in this family?

[He crosses his arms pointedly over his chest.] I'll take "more detailed explanations" for $500, Alex.

[Not that he couldn't just figure it out on his own, but he'd rather hear it from them over what was so horrible they had to beat each other up over it.]

[When he decided not to drink Michael's kool aid?]

I don't owe you one.

[He's had about enough of others making demands of him.

And then Castiel just wouldn't shut up.]

I told him if he wouldn't heal her, then I would.

[His liver is back together now, which is nice. Time to work on kidneys.]

He was insulting, so I was so back. It seems emotion is only discouraged when it isn't his.

Children. Although you do have a point about that, Castiel. [He gives Raphael a shrug and then pinches the bridge of his nose.] Did this really all start because Raphael wouldn't put the healing voodoo on Mary? You look like two idiots who got into a fight 'cause you're both dating the same girl.

[Maybe they look like that because that's what happened?]

I did heal her - of what would kill her. She will heal on her own in time.

This way I know where she is and can keep an eye on her. And perhaps an extended stay in the hospital will teach her some caution.

We weren't fighting. I didn't touch him.

[It's true, and it was purposeful and took a great deal of self-restraint. He glared sideways at Raphael before turning his attention back to Gabriel.]

You wouldn't react the same if it was someone you cared for? It costs him nothing to let me do it; all he is accomplishing is some pathetic attempt at a display of power that no one but he is impressed with.

[He looks between the two of them again. They both have valid points, but Castiel does care for Mary a great deal and Gabriel would punch someone in the face if they tried to prevent him from healing Jinx or Ahiru- not that he could, since he's never been very good at healing others. Lessons were important, but not always necessary.]

Yeah, I would. Weirdly enough. [He arches an eyebrow at his older brother.] What stake do you even have in this? Momchester ain't even your problem.

Michael asked me to watch over her.

[Which. Someone doesn't understand the difference between 'request' and 'order' yet.]

So, actually, she is.

[Gabriel makes a harsh EH-EH-EH sound and mimes 'SHUT YOUR MOUTH' with his hand.]

Okay, you [he points at Raphael] need to get off Michael's dick already, because it's not gonna get you anywhere and you [he points at Castiel] ....Just go heal the poor woman. Let archangels deal with archangels. Now go. Scram. Shoo.
