Halloween Masquerade Ball

Who: The Newcomer Political Party and The Newcomers!
When: October 27th, 7:00pm till Morning Sirens.
Where: The Newcomer Community Center
Summary: Time for some Halloween Masquerade Fun!
Warnings: Anything is possible!

The Community Center has been transformed into a sophisticated autumn dance hall, with bits of Halloween decorations around the room. When the door opens, you find yourself in the hall before the main room, someone ready to take your coat, if you have one, and another ready to give out bracelets. That way no one who shouldn't be drinking won't be able to.



The dance floor is surrounded by a number of small, round tables, each with an elaborate centerpiece of cobwebs. There are lights within the hanging decorations, with draped fabric over the sides, to give it a more close knit feeling. At the head of all the tables is a bar serving free drinks and cocktails to anyone over age. There is also a buffet



And then, of course, there is the dance floor, where people are dancing to the music supplied by two talented DJs, lights blinking and the room ready for everyone to have a good time.



Last call for food is two hours before sirens, and then the last call for drinks is an hour before the party finishes. You might want to be careful when it gets to be that time, though. Around 1:00 am, the party is going to change, due to a series of unfortunate events. You may not be very hungry or thirsty for awhile after.

Of course, not a problem. Getting new and different costumes is kind of a thing for me.

[He tilts his head]

[He laughs a little at the comment]

You shouldn't worry about that. Men love it when beautiful women approach them and offer drinks.

Do they? Marius doesn't think that... I suppose things are different in France. DO you want a drink then?

[She takes a sip of her own wine]

TThe deal about the mask. You will show me, won't you?

Naw, its just a stupid thing guys say. Just like to feel in control most of the time. Naw, I'm pretty good, maybe a bit later.

[He makes a face beneath the mask. She was still pressing on that was she?]

Yeah, alright. I said I would, so I will.

[She laughs and reaches up to stroke his helmet.]

You don't need to be worried, you know? Do you really think I will run from you when I see your face?

[Well thats just... adorable]

Who said anything about being worried, I'm fine. Fit as a fiddle, and all that. How are you? Good, yeah. You seem good.

[Circle gets the square, he is totally worried about that]

Oh, I like this song, lets dance to it shall we?

[Oh. He wants to change the subject. She nods]

I dunno how to dance properly though. Never been to a dance before.

Well, the most important thing is to forget your shame. Its a dance floor, if you are having a good time, thats whats important. I mean, you can't very well shake your groove thing if you are worried about looking silly.

I am not ashamed... I just do not know the steps. And there are so many steps. I saw, one, in Paris. It was a big, big house with big windows - I used to like it there. Liked looking in. And they had a dance once. I watched it all till they made me go. But the dances were so complicated and they all knew what to do.

But you'll teach me?
[She goes to take his hand. She's safe with Deadpool. He won't make her look stupid, will he?] Lets go.

Well yeah, the rich folks have a lot more free time on their hands. Luckily for you, I happen to be adept at several forms of dance.

[He takes her hand in his. Stupid is in the eye of the audience.]

I'd normally be more down for something a little more funky, but I guess I can rock a waltz.

['Ponine clings on tight. She's never danced properly in her life before and at first, she stumbles over the hem of her dress as she steps backwards. But as they keep doing the basic, Eponine's confidence grows and she relaxes, allowing Deadpool to guide her through the steps]

You are a good dancer, Deadpool.

[He spins her followed by a dip]

Thanks, they don't call me Fancy Foot for nothing.

[No one calls you that . They probably should, these feet be fancy]

[She squeals a little, clutching tighter at his hands. That was just a little bit unexpected!]

Fancy foot? Really? Now that is a funny name!

Yeah, well I collect aliases like others might collect bottle caps, or buttons, or stamps. My collection is just like a hundred times more awesome then those things.

[A light spin as they make their way around the room]

Eponine laughs again. "People collect such things?"
As thy spin, her dress flares out a little, which only goes to serve Eponine's belief that she's a proper princess.

"Do it again, Fancy Foot! I like the turns. My man in the mask..."
