Halloween Masquerade Ball

Who: The Newcomer Political Party and The Newcomers!
When: October 27th, 7:00pm till Morning Sirens.
Where: The Newcomer Community Center
Summary: Time for some Halloween Masquerade Fun!
Warnings: Anything is possible!

The Community Center has been transformed into a sophisticated autumn dance hall, with bits of Halloween decorations around the room. When the door opens, you find yourself in the hall before the main room, someone ready to take your coat, if you have one, and another ready to give out bracelets. That way no one who shouldn't be drinking won't be able to.



The dance floor is surrounded by a number of small, round tables, each with an elaborate centerpiece of cobwebs. There are lights within the hanging decorations, with draped fabric over the sides, to give it a more close knit feeling. At the head of all the tables is a bar serving free drinks and cocktails to anyone over age. There is also a buffet



And then, of course, there is the dance floor, where people are dancing to the music supplied by two talented DJs, lights blinking and the room ready for everyone to have a good time.



Last call for food is two hours before sirens, and then the last call for drinks is an hour before the party finishes. You might want to be careful when it gets to be that time, though. Around 1:00 am, the party is going to change, due to a series of unfortunate events. You may not be very hungry or thirsty for awhile after.

[jack sweeps him away in the middle of a song, coming out of nowhere with a glass of wine and a lopsided smile.]

Oh, here we go.

[and he hands alois the glass, for a sip. just one!]

Jack! I didn't know if I'd - [He takes the glass, graciously. He downs 3/4 of the glass in one go, casually.] - see you tonight. You're very dashing, did you realize?

And you're all raggedy and precious, as usual.

[he frowns at alois, oy. too early for that much.]

You look like you're starved for wine, goodness.

I have to take what I can get. Besides, it might be my last opportunity to break underage drinking laws in public. I just can't be gentle with that rule, not if it's our last time together.

[Of course he's relishing in his own cheek.]

So how are you finding it? Are you having a nice time?

[psychopath]

[jack sighs and ruffles his...hair, perhaps he should have asked alois for costume advice.]

Just don't get passed-out drunk; do that back home. And goodness, this ball is all sorts of amazing- [he makes a face.] I...just nearly bit into a ball of baby spiders. That was odd.

[faking]

Oh, please, I wouldn't do that in public. [Much too messy. It's better behind closed doors. All at once, though, he goes alight, gripping one of Jack's hands tightly.] Did you really, where did they go? Were they sweet? Aside from the chocolate, I mean, it was the chocolate, right? I want to take them home with me, I bet their mother's already killed. That's so ghastly. I bet they'll come with me if I ask them to...
