Halloween Masquerade Ball
Who: The Newcomer Political Party and The Newcomers!
When: October 27th, 7:00pm till Morning Sirens.
Where: The Newcomer Community Center
Summary: Time for some Halloween Masquerade Fun!
Warnings: Anything is possible!
The Community Center has been transformed into a sophisticated autumn dance hall, with bits of Halloween decorations around the room. When the door opens, you find yourself in the hall before the main room, someone ready to take your coat, if you have one, and another ready to give out bracelets. That way no one who shouldn't be drinking won't be able to.

The dance floor is surrounded by a number of small, round tables, each with an elaborate centerpiece of cobwebs. There are lights within the hanging decorations, with draped fabric over the sides, to give it a more close knit feeling. At the head of all the tables is a bar serving free drinks and cocktails to anyone over age. There is also a buffet

And then, of course, there is the dance floor, where people are dancing to the music supplied by two talented DJs, lights blinking and the room ready for everyone to have a good time.

Last call for food is two hours before sirens, and then the last call for drinks is an hour before the party finishes. You might want to be careful when it gets to be that time, though. Around 1:00 am, the party is going to change, due to a series of unfortunate events. You may not be very hungry or thirsty for awhile after.

<3 no worries!
[Though he's loathe to call Raphael his brother. His wings readjust as he unfolds and stretches them just a bit before folding them closed again, huge flight feathers brushing against Break a little bit on accident.]
no subject
[ Even though he can hear the enormous wings rustle, he's still startled when one touches him. It feels - soft. It must be beautiful, though he can't, and never will see it.
He is, by contrast, deformed and soiled by sin. He feels suddenly self-conscious, as if he has no right to stand in the presence of such a being. ]
no subject
[He responds to the unfinished question, wings settling in against his back again. He is unaware of Break's thoughts, and takes no note of the sin he he feels himself to be laden with; Castiel isn't looking for it, and he lives with a demon. He isn't particularly bothered by sin unless someone is actively trying to cause another harm.]
Your name?
no subject
Ah.
Xerxes Break.
[ He fancies he's being judged. But he won't cringe, he won't. ]
I saaaay. Even an angel, trapped here on this island? Can't you fly away to heaven, hahaa~!
no subject
[He responds, quietly, almost patiently. He's been asked this before, after all.]
This is a world completely different from mine; there is no Heaven here that I can access.
no subject
[ Unconsciously, his fingers brush across the spot where Castiel's wing had brushed against him. ]
What is it like, I wonder... to be an angel, yet trapped in this world of iniquity and sin. Does it soil you?
no subject
[He doesn't know if it soils him; perhaps it does, perhaps it doesn't. Humanity is dirty and sinful, but it also bring love and joy and loyalty so many virtues. He often thinks that being among humans is more pure than being among angels.]
no subject
Or...
[ A wry smile; he seems to have forgotten his drunk act. ]
...do you feel undeserving of paradise?
no subject
[It's not entirely either of Break's suggested reasons, yet partially both at the same time. He's fallen and Heaven doesn't feel much like home anymore, and angels can be quite difficult company, but he prefers to be among humans for what he learns from them; for his friends, for what they've taught him, for what they represent.]
no subject
[ Undeserving - or cast out? Break is beginning to wonder, despite Castiel's assertions that he chose to walk with humans. ]
no subject
[He isn't going to go into too many details about Heaven and what angelic law was, but he'll answer a little bit.]
no subject
(Well, perhaps not first. Perhaps definitely second, as his mind has a way of reeling away from difficult things like feelings.)
--there's a question that needs begging: ]
But - if angels lack the ability to choose, then how did you choose to leave their company?
no subject
[A pause.]
It is not the only rule I have broken, over time, out of necessity.
