[The lonely hearts that Mary called out in her post eventually wind up in some restaurant in the Mall, somewhere with a bar, but in all honestly it's a long night and they'll wander.

For her own part, Mary will get a very panicked text message from Tom Hanniger someone early in the night, and take off into the Darkness with an air of distinct "oh SHIT" without any explanation at all. But she'll be around for a little while at the beginning.]

[She smiles, giving a small nod.] I do. Everything is really beautiful, I don't know how the person who makes them can craft something truly so overwhelming.

Oh, even the stones themselves take their wonder. I never developed the knack for jewelry making, but I appreciate the art.

I'd think you'd have to be more of a miner to get to the gems, but... well, they always cut them down and make them look better then they once did. People do that a lot for everything, I've found.

[balladeer]

They did. The polishing was easy enough, but the intricate cutting and measurements was something I could never master. No, I was better off in writing songs and creating poetry.

[ Of course, Aurican often magicked the jewelry, to study more about its powers, but he doesn't feel the need to say that. ]

[Smiles.] How'd a catch like you end up alone on Valentine's Day?

[ He laughs, but he felt a small stab of nervousness. He's not sure how humans react to this sort of thing. ]

I already have a - [ mate ] - wife, back home. She recently passed away, but she left behind children to my care.

I'm sorry to hear that. Do you miss them?

[balladeer]

I miss their company, yes. But I know they are fine, as they learned to live out their own dwellings for quite some while. [ About a few centuries ago, actually. ]

That's good. I can't imagine having kids and then having to leave them behind because you're stuck in this place.
