[Alice's boutique, normally decorated in floral blacks and whites (prospective bridal clients like florals, usually), has been entirely transformed for the night. Thanks in no small part to Kurt's genius, the entire place decorated in beautiful blacks and golds. The place looks more like a high end night club than anything else. The jet black chandelier is hung with gold chains connected to the walls at various places, creating a shining web above the dance floor.

The handful of small dress racks there are have been emptied, and the few pieces of furniture there are have been pushed (artfully) to the walls. In their place are a few tall tables for people to congregate and converse around. The dance floor takes up most of the room, though, and a DJ is tucked in the corner ready to take requests.

Upstairs in the loft there's an extensive buffet, with everything from sushi to quiche, and a full bar up against the wall. And, because Alice is a good Sanguinarian, there's also a cooler under the bar specifically for guests who don't drink...wine. There are also a few sit-down tables if you want to actually sit down to stuff your face.

As for the hostess herself, she'll be fluttering around the most of the night, making sure everything is absolutely perfect. She's preoccupied, but she's still free to talk your ear off if anyone were to pull her aside.]

[As soon as Ahiru notices Alice milling about through the crowd, she makes her way over with a wave and a wide smile.]

Alice! Everything is really amazing here, you really outdid yourself.

[As soon as Alice sees Ahiru, she pulls her into a hug.

She's been doing a lot of that tonight, feels like.]

Oh, I can't take too much credit. Kurt was amazing with the decorations.

[She doesn't hesitate to hug her back with a smile.]

He was, but you still planned a lot of it, right? I still think it's really amazing.

Well, I did most everything else. Catering, setup, you know. The boring stuff.

[It had been the hardest thing, handing off the funnest duties to someone else. It hurt, really.]

Ahiru, you look adorable tonight.

Oh - you think so? I wasn't sure if I would look okay, I'm used to having help getting ready and stuff... You can't tell I did it alone or anything?

Thank you. So, where's this boyfriend you told me about?

Oh, he's probably off getting some water, or avoiding everyone and pretending he's not having fun.

And your husband? I haven't met him yet, either!

He's at the bar, rediscovering to his roots. And f he doesn't find them soon, I'm gonna start dragging him around with me.

You know, it sounds like we've got the same taste in men.

Well, that depends!

[She leans forward with a grin until her elbows are planted against the table, setting her chin in her hands.]

[Alice chews on her bottom lip for a moment. Oh gosh, what to pick?]

Well...he makes me feel safe. You know that saying, "home is where the heart is"?

[She nods, sighing dreamily.]

Yeah, I know that saying. I know what you mean, too. Like you could be anywhere at all and not mind as long as he's with you, right?

[Alice nods enthusiastically.]

Yes! Like here, now that he's with me it just feels....right. Like I can belong here now.

[motioned]

Yeah! Like, all my friends here are really important to me, but now that he's here, this whole world or dimension or whatever seems a lot better.

[She laughs once more.]

Maybe we do have the same type!

It looks like it. You said he doesn't like being social?

Yeah. He's really nice, but he doesn't get along that well with most other people. That probably didn't make much sense, but...

And he just refuses to make new friends.

Exactly! And then when he does talk to people, he's not always the most civil.
