[Anniversary Event Starting Log] I Awaken To Another Day...

Who: Open Log! This means everybody!
When: September 1st, 1918. Dawn.
Where: Farmer Whitty's Squash Patch, City of Missionworth (Ye Olde... Baseball Diamond?)
Summary: Midnight on New Years Eve finds the entire Newcomer Community thrust backwards in time...oh, 95 years or so?
Warnings: A lot of potentially drunk people are about to land facefirst in a field. Once word is out that a small horde of strangers have mysteriously arrived on the island, Military Forces will be rounding them up for questioning. You be the judge of how badly this goes.

Whether right in the middle of a rowdy parties as toasts are raised with complementary champagne, or having a quiet evening at home on the couch, watching GloTV's annual Auld Lang Syne Countdown Extravaganza, a sickeningly familiar tug of a feeling suddenly wrenches in the gut of every Newcomer on the island who has been brought here by Pull in the past three years.

As fireworks sound over AGI tower and the clock finishes striking twelve, the world spins. For a dazzling colorful moment, flashing scenes from their stay in Port roll backwards like rewound film before their eyes. It becomes a blur, the Pull drawing tighter and tighter, ears might pop and there's a very good chance the contents of their stomachs might be turned out.

And then there is coolness, a brisk breeze, morning dew and damp earth beneath them all.

The newcomers are scattered across a planted field of winding vines and colorful gourds, which won't be ready for harvesting for another month or so. Several startled crows are circling overhead, screaming. There are no tall towers on the skyline, and there are more surrounding trees, particularly toward the western horizon- golds and oranges of early autumn.

To the east, a picturesque early 20th century settlement stretches to the island shoreline, already bustling with traffic and construction in the early dawn's light. There is no putrid, sick-sweet rotting smell which normally lingers for awhile in the morning fog, after the lifting of darkness.

Two young boys stand agape at the edge of the field for several moment, leaning over a fencepost, then turn and tear off towards a homestead not far away, shouting for their papa.

Welcome to the City of Missionworth. Look's like The Core's decided to give you all a history lesson for the New Year.

Annoying? [He's more interested in the temporal ramifications, but for some he could see that it would be displeasing to be pulled back.] An inconvenience, or something else?

Mostly an inconvenience. If Xellos isn't in the normal timeline, our hellhound puppies are probably going to run amok.

[He didn't look forward to the mess that the two gluttonous little hellbeasts might leave behind. Though they were every bit as loyal and clever as Crowley said they would be, the puppies were undisciplined when it came to food. Orders had to be very specific and if both he and Xellos were gone...the Uzushio's food stores would be a mess, to say the least.]

[Xellos most certainly is not in the normal timeline. This was rather an annoying leap. The Core certainly seemed to want to tell everyone something through this action. To what end, he had no idea. He appears beside Phibrizzo, looking rather calm about the situation]

Seems as though we are on a bit of a trip.

Seems like it. I suppose if it can take all sorts of beings from different worlds, a trip back in time is well within its power.

[Well, damn. He hopes Lina and Gourry won't make too much of a mess of things while they're stuck here.]

...we should see how many of our employees wound up here, too.

[And by 'we', he means you, Xellos, but he'll help.]
that_is_asecret: (Oh!)

[personal profile] that_is_asecret 2013-01-09 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
Of course. I imagine you'll be setting up a little place so we can meet up then?

[Subspace being the most likely due to privacy]

brat_from_hell: (tee hee!)

[personal profile] brat_from_hell 2013-01-10 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
It would be best to have a place to meet...I don't think any strangers are going to want us to use their homes.

[Not that it would stop him, but what's the point in having the ability to warp dimensional space if you don't use it once in a while?]

I'm sure I can put something together, anyway, with all the right protective magic.

I'm sure I won't have difficulty finding it.

[He inclines his head a little]

Well, I suppose I'll be off then.

[personal profile] brat_from_hell 2013-01-12 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd be surprised if there's anyone around here who can use subspace quite like we can, other magic users included.

[Out in public, he will never out them as mazoku. Instead, he'll imply they are human magic users without ever lying and calling them human. The only thing he's been completely dishonest about in his entire time in Siren's Port has been his age.]

Who's to say if normal time is even progressing? Perhaps this loop is a piece of the normal timeline even if it's not a part of the normal placeline... temporal mechanics can be rather troublesome in that way.
brat_from_hell: (curious)

[personal profile] brat_from_hell 2013-01-09 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
[Phibrizzo has decided he's infinitely grateful that there are no known spells to warp time in his own universe. Fascinating as all of this is, it's also inconvenient.]

I wonder if there are still Voids around the Core. This might be a perfect opportunity to study it.

There is only one way to know for certain... if there aren't, it would be most rewarding.

[personal profile] brat_from_hell 2013-01-12 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Would you like to join me?

[As much as he's at least partially keeping up his precocious child act, he is genuinely interested in the insight Master Xenahort has to offer on temporal magic. They'd likely get very different things out of the visit to the Core, but both would benefit in some way.]

[And he's not one to turn down a chance at learning about something he's interested in...]

If you're headed in that direction, certainly.

[personal profile] brat_from_hell 2013-01-19 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Let's go. We'll be able to tell for sure if there's a void by trying simple spells nearby th...but until then, it's probably best to seem as normal as possible.

[Which means he should probably be scampering around while Xenahort has to struggle to keep up. Fitting expected roles is important, especially when dealing with the locals' distrust of Newcomers.]

Very well. Perhaps you should lead the way, then.

[And role he does assume, hunched over and making deliberate steps, trailing after Philbrizzo with a bemused expression.]
