Kurt and Blaine were getting married today. Despite the drizzly weather of the week, they had set up an open tent at the beach. The off and on again rain of that week meant that the waves of the sea were higher, more intense than normal. That set an interesting backdrop to their ceremony.

Luckily, the weather today was better than it had been all week and though it was still a little bit on the gloomy side you'd never know it from the two grooms and the pure joy on their faces.

[Franz, on the other hand, has had more than a couple. And he's broken away from his chaperon, erm, boyfriend, for the night, when he slips next to his former doctor.]

...It's been awhile. Having a good time?

[The last time he had more than a couple and was around other people, he ended up making out with Chuck - not that he was so drunk he didn't know, not that he regretted doing it. But it had made things awkward.

He smiles warmly at Franz, catching him out of the corner of his eye before he's all that close.]

It has been. I-weddings are...something I don't attend often. But I'm happy for Blaine. And proud.

[It's not really an answer - this is more a social event than he would like, but he wouldn't miss it.]

I'm shocked they made it this far, frankly. But I guess I don't understand love as well as they do.

[It's as close as Franz will probably get to airing any of his doubts. It's amazing that it's so natural to speak with someone he looked up to so much after they've barely seen one another, but it feels like little time has passed.

But so much has happened. And whether or not he wants to admit it, this wedding is another ripple that will have long effects in Franz's life.

Because the thought is there, that he doesn't understand it. That Kurt and Blaine have something they're so much more certain of, or at least in different ways.]

As am I - I wasn't sure they would, here. Perhaps back home, perhaps not. They were so young when they arrived, I'm not used to seeing teenagers who are actually permitted to be children.

[He was happy for them, of course, thrilled - but still surprised.

And for Magneto, it does seem that only little time has passed, despite it being almost a year since he spoke to Franz last - having lived as long as he has, having lived the life he has, a year isn't long to go between seeing loved ones. It's not the most common but it's far from rare.]

They still are, in a way. And I hope they always will be.

[That's the irony of it, of course. Franz and Kurt were the same age when they arrived, though the time fluctuations Kurt and Blaine faced due to the Core have left him a bit confused as to just how old they are now. It's not the kind of thing you ask about.

Franz will be 19 in March, but feels much older than that. Yet he still feels young in many respects, especially with this whole thing. Kurt and Blaine seemed almost desperately ready to commit, and while he and Daedalus have been together longer... Franz sips his drink.]

Though it's funny to see kids who want to get married, gotta admit.

I was younger - much young, in some ways, depending on which culture you define marriage by - but I've seen a few like them.

[Scott and Jean. Wanda and Vision. Pietro and Crystal - it hadn't worked out for any of them. He hoped it did for them, but he doesn't hold much faith in it.]
