Our Wedding Musical
Who: Klaine and OPEN
When: February 22nd
Where: Crow's Head Beach to Lux
Summary: Wedding!
Notes: There will be two comment threads, one for the ceremony that will be set on the beach and a reception one set in the Lux. Feel free to reply to either with where you character is and what they're doing. Closed comments between characters and open comments to welcome all are both encourages. Action spam and prose also encouraged. Basically, do whatever feels right guys!
Warnings: Will update if needed.

Kurt and Blaine were getting married today. Despite the drizzly weather of the week, they had set up an open tent at the beach. The off and on again rain of that week meant that the waves of the sea were higher, more intense than normal. That set an interesting backdrop to their ceremony.
Luckily, the weather today was better than it had been all week and though it was still a little bit on the gloomy side you'd never know it from the two grooms and the pure joy on their faces.

CEREMONY
The wedding took place on the beach. There was a trail of red rose pedals leading to alter. The chairs were covered in white cloth and tied with a blue sash. They were nestled in and protected from moody weather by a pretty but strong tent that was opened to the view of the beach.
Before the ceremony guests were ushered to their seats and settled in.
The ceremony itself was short, with only two parts. A tea ceremony that celebrated the unity of the couple and exchanging of vows. The best part, however, was that instead of coming down the aisle to a gender neutral rendition of "Here Comes the Bride" the couple sang their way down. The song of their choice was "Come What May." They had planned that song so long ago, and now they could enjoy it on their day.
Before the ceremony | Kurt and Chuck
He nervously waits on the other side of the door, dressed in a simple slim-fitting black suit and a white tie. Chuck is there beside him, and they're waiting for the cue to start walking. Kurt is still half convinced he's dreaming.]

Besides, Kurt and Blaine have been through a lot together. Chuck saw Blaine a while ago, running around looking for his bowtie, and one glimpse of the happiness there was standalone proof of how perfect this is.
He glances over and sees Kurt's nervousness bleeding through, and elbows him lightly in the ribs.]
Hey, kid, don't forget to breathe.

She could keep her rings on, thankfully, but she thought it was proper that she remove her eyebrow piercing.
Now, as the ceremony was going on, Lisbeth looked down at her feet. Alice had been impressed that she was an expert in four inch heels. She didn't answer any questions about it.]

OTA
Instead, she's wearing a long coat, and she has boots that cover her legs from the knees down. She's got sunglasses on, a wide hat, and gloves. Around her, there's a faint scent of sunscreen that might seem out of place in February, but it's entirely necessary. She's got a nice party dress to wear at the reception, where direct sunlight is no longer an issue.
She is smiling as she watches the ceremony, though. It's the kind of love she'd like to have, once she gets home and has the chance to iron things out.]
Ceremony | ota
He's been a little reluctant about the whole ordeal all along, feeling the ceremony's been much too rushed, that too much pressure has been put on Franz...that his own love life doesn't quite measure up to the romantic overtures of these two madly-in-love boys from Lima, Ohio.
They're bold, to do this now. Here. Maybe they're foolish and still, in his private opinion, rushing it.
But once everyone is on the beach and the smell of sea is in the air, once seagulls are making off with some of the decorations for nesting materials, and everyone around him looks so damned misty eyed and caught up in something sentimental...
Well, it's a little bit contagious, particularly when the pair start singing at each other, and it's shockingly genuine compared to any formal signing of certificates he's ever heard about in Romdeau. If Jinx and Gabriel's big ado hadn't prepared him for this, he might have been completely stunned by the emotion in this wedding.
And he's happy for them both, Kurt and Blaine, he truly is. There's a sort of glow about them. Double dating with a married couple will seem odd in the future, but they've been joking gently about it for months now. The two will be happier now. This is, after all, what they've wanted.
He can't help but sneak peeks at Franz though, slightly nervous that he might be dreaming of the same expectations.]

You look great. Don't worry, your hair is perfect, the clothes look good. [A pause.] You do look like you're going to jump out of your skin, though.

Deep breaths. He stands in front of a mirror, tying his tie. Deep breaths, Kurt.]
I'm sort of glad I decided to go with a simple ensemble. [He talks to Ahiru, his voice even more high-pitched than usual.] It's classic.

RECEPTION
When the party moved to the Lux the guests were greeted by a club that was redecorated as a Winter Wonderland. The blues and whites were spread around to dazzle and comfort. The meal was delicious but completely meatless. There was a cake, of course, and the newly weds had too much fun feeding it to each other.
At some point the dance music started and guests were encourage celebrate by dancing, talking or drinking.

[It's not long after they all arrive at the reception venue that she stands up hastily, holding up some water with a smile as she looks towards the other guests around her.]
For those of you who don't know me, my name's Ahiru. I'm very close friends with both Kurt and Blaine. I've known both of them since they arrived, so I'm really honored to have been able to take part in their wedding like this. I'm sure everyone else is just as excited as I am to be able to witness it!
Ever since we first met, I could tell a few things about both of them. I could tell they both loved music and dancing and fashion, and that they both loved each other. I could tell they were both good people, too, but now I know that just saying they're good people doesn't do them justice. Kurt and Blaine are some of the best people I know, not because they've managed to avoid having some troubles, but because they were brave enough to overcome those obstacles together. I believe that each of them are incredibly strong, but that strength has only grown in the time they've been together. They balance each other out and make each other better people, and I think that's one of the most wonderful things about couples who fall in love. This city is full of things to be afraid of, but they've done more than find their courage in a place like this. They've helped other people find their courage as well.
That's why I'm so glad that today, they were finally able to celebrate just how happy they've made one another, and get ready to spread that happiness through the rest of their lives. I know that all of you are here because you feel the same way, so - here's to Kurt and Blaine!
[She raises the glass of water with one hand, wiping away a stray, happy tear with the other as she glances towards the newlyweds with a warm smile.]

Kurt, Blaine, you amaze me. I have never met two people who have more embodied a spirit of passion, love and, perhaps most amazingly to me, a drive to be true to yourself. I'd be the first to admit I'm a skeptic, but everything that should have driven you apart has served to make you stronger. It's inspiring. I look into your faces today and I really do understand what it means to believe in things against all odds.
Now [he clears his throat a little awkwardly, NO WAY HE'S EMOTIONAL OR ANYTHING] there's not much tradition of long speeches at weddings, in France, because it only delays the partying. So I won't keep this beautiful couple from their celebration. A votre sante!

Wow, there's- there's a lot of people here. Whew.
[Sucking air through his teeth and fumbling slightly.]
God, uh, this was so much easier at the last wedding, when nobody knew who I was, and I was drunk...
Uh! Anyway, um. First, I just want to say mazel tov. Because- wow, right? It's so surreal and awesome to finally be here. You know, uh, they might not be my sons, but I'm just as happy to be at this wedding. I mean, Kurt and Blaine- they've gone through so much here... together and apart.
In a way, I'm glad about that. It sounds bad, but I am. Because when I first met these kids, they really were- kids. And they've faced all that joy and that pain - believe me, I've... seen a lot of pain in my time... [understatement] - and anyway, I saw them overcome those roadblocks, no matter how agonizing or insurmountable they seemed at the time.
So maybe they were kids when I first met them almost two years ago, but now they're men who I'm proud to call my friends.
[He raises his glass with the rest of the room.]

For those who might not know me, I'm Tim, Tim Drake. Since I'm one of the best men, it's pretty much an obligation to make a big speech for the happy couple. [He grins.] Something I'm more then happy to do. I'm a a good friend of them both, and I've also been their roommate for... not entirely sure how long, but it's been awhile.
I first met Blaine a few days after I arrived here, and ever since then he's been my closest friend here in the port. We started helping each other with some self-defense lessons, but eventually I got to know him as a person. And I found that Blaine is not just a great singer and an equally great boxer, but that he's one of the good guys. The kind of person who likes people, who wants to help them, and goes out of his way sometimes to do that. [His grin falls into a soft smile.] Both of us went through a tough time together, but we helped each other through it, with some help from great people, some of whom are not here anymore. But at the end, Blaine came through it stronger then ever, and more determined to be the kind of guy that everyone, and himself, can trust.
I didn't know Kurt as well during that time. But when I did get to know him, I knew that, just like Blaine, Kurt is a good guy. He's a nice guy, he's smart, he knows more about fashion and music then anyone I know. I didn't even know someone could know that much about either of those subjects. [He laughs.] But more then that, Kurt cares about people, even the ones he doesn't know. There are so many people that have had their lives touched by him, and have come out better for it, and I can safely say that I'm one of those people.
But that's just them as individuals. If both of these guys are strong, then as a couple, they're invincible. They worked together to do great things for all of us, the newcomers, the city, for kids who thought they had nowhere to go. When you look for a relationship, and a couple to look up, you know that it's not because they're exactly the same. They complement each other, they fill in the spaces that the other doesn't. They're seamless, and they've helped support each other throughout everything that this place can throw at them. And the one thing you'll never doubt is how much they love each other.
True love is something that is incredibly rare to find. You might only see it once, maybe twice in your life. And I'm so thankful and happy that I've gotten to see it in two people who only deserve the best. [He raises his glass.]Blaine, you're not just my friend. You're my brother. And that makes the both of you my family. So, thank you, both, for letting me, and everyone else, be involved in your life, and the love you share.
Let's all raise a glass to the newlyweds, and wish them only happiness and love for the rest of their lives together.

At the moment, she's walking around the room. Layla is ready to mingle, but she's also keeping an eye out for anyone who's getting a little too drunk. Kurt and Blaine do not need their wedding bliss ruined by someone acting like a drunken fool. Her bite has been able to sober others up before, so she'll do so if necessary. Otherwise, she'll just chat with people and be sociable.]
