You know what?
Who: Frau and Rochelle
When: Evening, February 29th
Where: First outside of HoA and later in the slummier sectors
Summary: Frau and Rochelle accidentally get themselves into some trouble...
Warnings: Likely just language...
For once, Frau didn't have to work that night. It was actually really nice, and it gave him the chance to simply wander through the different sectors again. When he'd first arrived he wandered nearly everyday, though work had started to cut into that time. He was going to use this time off to his advantage. It wasn't like Frau had any real goal in mind, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to try and pinpoint a future meal. He wasn't really in the mood to expend too much effort though, so he stuck with the sectors that would have less security around. Those with corrupt souls could be found in any sector, from high class to low. It wasn't very likely that he'd have trouble finding someone either.
Once he found a good target, he would follow him back home and remember the location for later that night. Or maybe the night after. He hadn't yet decided if he wanted to try and wait one more day before giving in to the scythe's demands and feeding. In the end, it probably wouldn't make much of a difference either way, so he tried not to linger on the decision. Instead, he just took his time to look around and enjoy himself.

He'd noticed her hesitation though and wasn't going to leave it unaddressed. Like she'd said, he could take care of himself. He could easily take care of her too if he needed to.
"You don't have to come if you don't want to."

Rochelle blinked at him. She crossed her arms and kept her eyes where he had been pointing. On one side, it would be interesting. If anything bad seriously went down, she had a gun. Even if she didn't WANT to shoot anybody (zombies were different from actual, healthy people). But on the other hand, which was the most heavyhanded part of it, she wasn't stupid.
"I don't, but..."

Frau had never particularly been bothered by the people down there. A few of them had tried, and one smirk had usually sent them running. The few that had required more typically took off after the first appearance of his zaiphon. It was just like at the bar. People didn't screw with him.
"Up to you."

It's mostly Rochelle teasing because she can't talk. Back home, she had to ignore common sense a couple of times. Even if common sense is the most valuable thing you can have in the apocalypse, you had to take risks a few times. Or maybe in the heat of a moment you just weren't thinking. Plus, there's been once or twice she's been out in after Sirens on purpose that didn't involve running to someone's house in an emergency.
She put her hands on her hips.
"Well, I guess that settles it. SOMEONE'S gotta look after you."
Another tease, but she's obviously coming.

"Such little faith in me," he laughed as he led the way toward the next sector over.
no subject
"What'd you expect?"

Many people who knew what he did for a living at home would have doubted his fighting ability. A bishop didn't fight battles. A bishop was peace loving. Hell, no. Frau was about as far from that as possible. All bishops fought at home, but he was one of the best zaiphon users they had. Nobody there could doubt his skills with zaiphon or a bascule (except for the people who knew he could no longer touch a bascule).

She shook her head. "I can't believe I'm going this way again, but... what the hell. I don't have anything that valuable on me this time."
no subject
He chuckled softly at her reasoning though. With him around, she wasn't going to need to worry even if she did. He was around often enough that people knew not to mess with him.
"People here know me. You'll be fine."
no subject
"You do?"
no subject
"You might want to reconsider that."
He lets it go though and focuses on her second question.
"Yeah. Like I said, I've been down here a lot."
no subject
"I'm good."
Because she's not stubborn, nope.
"So which undesirables would you be friends with, now?"
no subject
Which wasn't even the figurative truth. Because Frau did bite.
no subject
That was a whole other story though. Rochelle stuffed her hands in her pockets and her eyes took in the details. There was a spark of familiarity, but she she hadn't been here in a while now.

A few people were around, but none of them emitted the darkness he was looking for. At least not yet. Frau had little doubt that he would find one.
no subject
"Guess I didn't tell you about the zombies back home, did I? That's my thing. Zombie apocalypses."
no subject
He smiled, not the least bit bothered that he'd been kept out of the loop.
"Zombies, huh?"
That was a new one for him.
no subject
"Yeah. That's what home turned into for me. That's how I learned how to shoot a gun."
It wasn't something she minded telling. She usually held off on it because sometimes people didn't believe it, or she just didn't think to bring it up. It certainly wasn't something she had forgotten, but sometimes Siren's Port could almost be normal life for her again. Almost.

Frau's reason for learning zaiphon was similar in a way. Of course, now he used his zaiphon more to protect others, though fighting was definitely a part of it still.
His eyes shifted to the side and focused on a man meandering down the street with a sloppy grin on his face. He stored the face in his mind for future reference of someone he could go after. The man seeped darkness.
no subject
Though she hoped it wasn't actually the end. To be honest, she didn't even know anymore.
Rochelle side-eyed the man herself. He didn't seem all that savory, and crossing her figurative fingers they wouldn't be seeing him again. "Got a place in mind of where you're going yet?"
no subject
Which had so far led him to one potential. Not that they were all that difficult to find. No matter what world you were in, those who had fallen to corruption were there.
no subject
They weren't visible yet, but her head had instantly 'pinged' her to them.
no subject
Instead of asking, he waited a moment to see whether she was right. When they passed the group, he couldn't help being slightly impressed.
"You just know where people are, huh?"
no subject
"I guess I could have called being immune to the infection my first super power back home. But what that's what I got from the Core here, yup. I got it described to me like a... sixth sense, sort of."
no subject
"And you just suddenly became able to do it?"
