I'm standing on the bridge, I'm waiting in the dark
Who: Larry Butz and Maya Fey
When: Backdated to March 8, afternoon
Where: The House of Butz, Sector 6
Summary: What was supposed to be a carefree afternoon turns into a serious and possibly sad discussion about one Elise Deauxnim.
Warnings: Mentions of death and dying and possibly violence and then there was angst. Also, Trials and Tribulations spoilers all across the board.
[Larry was in his studio again, going over several sketches of the layout he wanted for that mural Raul Creed had him working on. He was thinking of a sky-blue background, kind of like daybreak...but maybe it was too light. Maybe dusk, to symbolize the sirens going off every evening?
Elise batted a rumpled piece of paper around his feet, treading all over his toes as she chased after it. He smiled and bent down to pick her up, settling her on his lap. Automatically she leaped onto his desk, paying no heed to the drafts she stepped on, and jumped onto his shoulder. Slowly he returned to his work, a pencil in one hand while the other scratched behind her ears.
Elise...yeah. Somehow, that name had come to him instantly when he first met her in his backyard, as if no other name would suit her.]

Ooh, what have you got to cook? I'm starving!
[Maya's still more of a dog person than a cat person, but she reaches down to pet Elise none-the-less}
no subject
[Elise likes the petting. She purrs and rubs herself against Maya's legs.]
no subject
Man, you should meet Mir....
no subject
YOU ARE SPOILING THE KITTY, MAYA. She will continue to purr before deciding to curl up on your foot.]

[For now, there's more spoiling for the cat, but she drifts into the kitchen as well. Maaaan, she's hungry.....]

[Larry's bringing the burgers out of the freezer, getting ready to cook them.
Elise follows Maya - only as far as the kitchen, and in the doorway, the cat sits down and starts washing herself.]

[Food is better than cats, and so Maya drifts into the kitchen and leaves Elise behind]

[Elise doesn't even notice, anyway, but she perks up when the burgers start sizzling. Soon the kitchen is full of the aroma of delicious beef, and Larry is just cooking them like it's no big deal.]
D'you want everything on your burgers? If you want condiments, they're on the dining table, so you can just help yourself.
no subject
[BURGERS... *A* Excuse her her stomach is growling in anticipation]
Anything, just lay it on me! I'm staaarved! [She probably ate about twenty minutes ago]
no subject
[Aaaaaand this is where Larry starts putting the burgers in buns after he's done flipping them and letting them sizzle. Then he starts putting almost anything he can find - cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions - and he even puts some bacon strips onto the pan afterward.]
I've even got bacon.
