Who: Ventus and Roxas and their friends and MAYBE YOU!
When: Saturday, March 24, all afternoon
Where: The House of Repression Departure, aka Ven, Terra and Aqua's place
Summary: The twins are turning 17! Their close friends and pretty much anyone who's got positive CR with one or both is invited to stop into their open house birthday party. Nothing too structure, gifts aren't required—just come have some cake and good times. Open log, thread away however you like.

It's a little past Ventus' birthday and a little before Roxas', but as far as those not in the know are concerned, they're all-natural twins who are turning 17 today.

And what a nice day it is! Good weather outside, colorful balloons and good cheer inside, and most importantly—cake. Lots of cake. Because each bro gets one, and that means more for guests.

Won't you come celebrate with them?

She's seen a lot of birthdays and birthday parties through memories before. But even after months of being here... attending one, was still a different story.

So don't mind this wallflower hanging around by herself, admiring Xion's cakework from afar. She'll get around to socializing with others.

Birthdays are weird like that, aren't they? I mean, you're older but it's not like anything's changed.

You don't look any different. Well, maybe a little taller, but you're still you.

[They haven't really talked a lot or anything, but maybe she could change that. At the very least she intended to give him his present in person.]

[It still feels...sort of weird, when Roxas and Ven are in the same room. Not as weird as when Xion and Ven are together, but... still just a little weird. He wonders if everyone else feels this way, when he and Riku are standing side by side.

Joe's made a playlist of all the songs they've listened to on and off, now and then, since Roxas' arrival in Port. Including the ones that are sort of inside jokes, like The Final Countdown and Bad Romance. He's cued them all up on some of his DJ equiptment, proud of being able to provide personalized party music

And then he's hanging out beside his friend, kicking back with a soda. Roxas has always been there. It's a good thing to know and be able to count on.]

So. What are you going to wish for, when you blow the candles out?

Where'd you get "McCartney" from, anyway? Weird name.

[Roxas is really glad Joe came to the party. Well, of course he did—and he's making it better with music, which Roxas hadn't even thought about—but it's a little odd, being a center of attention, even when it's just their friends.

So it's cool to just sit and hang out with his pal.]

Oh, man...I dunno. Is that something you have to do?

And not that much taller.

[Sigh. Probnably never going to be. Even that preview of his future height, courtesy of Riley Ripley, hadn't been a huge change. Tall enough to need new pants, not tall enough to look Riku directly in the eye.]

It's what you have birthday candles on the cake for, yeah!

[He rolls his eyes- sometimes he's not sure why he knows all this stuff, where Roxas doesn't...but then, he's watched lots of birthday parties and cried of 'make a wish!' in passing, even at the stadium, where moms bring their kids and suddenly whip out cupcakes and seem to expect that all concessions hawkers in the stands should be able to produce a lighter or matches or convenient powered flame on command.

Lately, wishes make him do nothing but regret his contract with Kyubey...

But bithday wishes are still fine, he supposes.]

Yeah but is the wish part that important? I'm not sure I can think of anything good.

I mean...I've got all of you guys. I'm still here—heck, if you ask the people who run this world, I'm a grown-up now. That's a long more than I ever thought I'd get. I don't know what else to wish for.

Just wish for something nice. Wish for something too nice to come true on it's own. Or something you want.

It'd be weird if you were a beanpole like Axel. And it'd get really lonely being down here all by myself.

[She gives him another squeeze and then beams at him.]

So I guess I should give you a present or something, huh?

[He wouldn't dream of it.

And he's all for surprise hugs. Ven laughs, turning his head slightly to catch a glimpse of Xion's black hair.]

Huh? Why? [Suspicious bf is suspicious.]

[Awww, yes, let's change that Namine! Ven smiles at her when she approaches.]

Hi, Namine. Good to see you.

Now with less... failings

[And he will accept that drink with a grin.] Thanks!

[She laughs, tiptoes up to kiss him behind the ear, and whispers:]

It's a surprise.

You're welcome ... [Bumps her shoulder into his -- gently, not hard enough to splash drinks.] ... birthday boy!

[She won't mention how weird this feels -- not even jokingly. It seems like Ven's birthday has come out of nowhere ... probably because of the shift in the Port's time frame. Which she may never get used to.]

[Riku's a little out of place, standing a good head taller than most of the people there besides Terra and Aqua. But he's smiling and that's as good a sign as any.]

[He's kept his eye on her and hasn't said anything, since he's not one for socializing anyway, but it's just how things are. He gives her a faint smile anyway.]

[17. Geez, he doesn't look it. But maybe he's too inclined to think of him, Roxas, and Sora as so much younger. Still, he raises a hand in greeting when he walks in.]

[Like for Ven, Riku isn't sure how to react other than showing how happy he is that Roxas is having a birthday. He's uncertain of Roxas' feelings on the subject, but he hopes it's a good one...despite circumstances.]
