Teen Titans Practice Run

Who: The Teen Titans
When: Thursday Night, April 5th, 8:00pm.
Where: Titans' Headquarters in the Warehouse in Sector 11.
Summary: First team building exercise!
Warnings: Possible language.

Red Robin had gone and split the group into pairs. They'd have to learn to work with another person before they could figure out how to work as a team. So, analyzing their strengths and weaknesses, he'd picked a pretty good match for everyone.

And by match, that meant everyone was paired with their total opposite, except for one team that was going to be a threesome, since one of their members was not going to be a fighter, but more of a medic.

The Groups:

Ikol and Oathkeeper (Loki and Sora)
Squinky and Imagine Breaker (Guybrush Threepwood and Kamijou Touma)
White Justice and Darkbeat (Momo Himori and Joe Fieldman)
Peregrinus and Grim Couture (Jack Kelly and Kanaya Maryam)
Blood Rose and Kusunoki Masashige (Amy Sorel and Yosuke Hanamura)
Occupational Hazard and Neophyte (Hiccup and Terezi Pyrope)
Sugar Plum and Red Robin (Ahiru and Tim Drake)

There will be four stations throughout this exercise, with everyone rotating between the warehouse, the docks, a sector ll alleyway, and the Titans' headquarters. There will be three different robots to fight, depending on where your team decides to go.

If they go down to the docks, the robots look like this. The tentacle hands will reach out through the water, and you need to destroy them in any way you can. Cutting them off might do the job, or, might not. The objective is to press the red button in the middle of it's body.

If they go to the warehouse, they can see that parts of the floor are covered in spider robots. These shoot little lasers at you from their eyes, and it's hard to reach them all in one go.

If they go down to any alleyway in Sector 11, they'll find that these robots ready to attack from the shadows. While these robots don't move as fast as the others, they make up for that in how heavy and guarded they can be.

And, lastly, once everyone has worked through the three courses, they can come on up to the Titan's Headquarters, sit back on one of the couches, eat some pizza, drink some soda, and just chill and hang out.

Tim does want to meet with each of you individually,. but don't worry! It's all good. He'll address any issues or concerns one on one.

[Christina's looking a bit self-conscious in her costume- it's functional, but form-fitting and black spandex does not breathe very well, but she's ready. She has no idea who either of her teammates are, but she's ready. Hopefully... She can get through this without exploding something major.]

Okay. If we go that way [she gestures to the path to the docks], big open space, but a major possibility of being drowned. If we go this way... [she points to the alley] Smaller space, easier to get trapped, but... A more easily manipulated environment?

[If someone sounds like she stayed up half of last night watching cop movies... Well, she did. She didn't want to look like a moron.]

What makes you think anybody's gonna drown?

[If Ichigo looks like he's not given much thought or care to his costume- black hoodie, black pants and what looks remarkably like a black beanie pulled over his eyes with holes cut out- it's because he hasn't.

Zangetsu's strapped across his back, and Ichigo has one hand casually on the tsuka, ready to draw. Although... as it seems they're going to spend some time discussing tactics, he lets his hand drop to his side. If they're going down an alley way, the chances of him accidentally braining someone with his five foot and then some long sword is going to be a lot higher than if there's space to operate, and these guys have never fought with him.]

Before we do anything, maybe we need to talk about what we can do and how we fight, and take it from there.

Oh, uh... [She shifts from one foot to the other and shrugs.] Freaky brain powers? I mean, aside from calling them Antichrist quirks, I don't know how else to explain it.

[Conner is dressed in his usual Superboy costume, jeans and an S-shirt. He's got Krypto with him too and the dog is wearing his little red cape. He kneels down by Krypto's side for a moment, speaking quietly to the dog.] Stay here, buddy, okay? This is just a training exercise for the three of us so you'll be on the sidelines for now. You can, uuuuh, guard the headquarters. Go pester Red Robin if he's still in the building if you get bored. Alright?

[The dog gives a small whine, ears dropping a little, but he lies down on the floor in submission.]

Thattaboy. [Conner gives Krypto a few pats while turning his attention to his new teammates. It's going to be different, working with completely new people, but it wouldn't be fair to not give them a chance before he judges them, or to compare them to the team he knows. At first, he checks out the girl's outfit, mentally giving it a thumbs up, before raising an eyebrow at the big sword on the guy's back. He can't resist taking a small joking jab.]

Are you trying to overcompensate for something? [He then turns to face the girl.] And Antichrist? Seriously? I mean, no big if you are. One of my good friends is half-demon.

[Ichigo scowls beneath his beanie and glowers at the other boy. He sets his jaw and squares his shoulders. It's not the first time someone's made jabs about the way Zangetsu looks. He really should be above retorting.]

Lemme guess, the S stands for smart-ass, right?

[But he's not.

So he's standing here with some form of the Antichrist and a wiseass and his dog. Should be fun. But here they are, and they've gotta get going.]

So you [a nod to Christina] blow stuff up with freaky brain powers. [He jabs his thumb at his chest.] I got spirit powers. So what else do we have to work with?

Set things on fire, too. Give me something to work with and I can... Usually make it happen. [She cautiously side-steps away from the dog- the Kramer's dog and its intense hatred of her gave her a complex and she's more than thrilled it's not coming along with them.] And yeah, my dad's the devil. Let's just lay that out right now. [But she's pretty happy that it's not a big deal and no one's shying away from her because of it. Awesome.]

Actually, it stands for Superboy. [He comments back a little off handedly.] Don't suppose either of you know who Superman is? I do what he does, plus tactile telekinesis.

Okay. So either of you got any objections to going the dock route?

[He rolls his shoulders and stretches his neck from side to side, limbering up for whatever they've got planned. He doesn't miss how Christina's giving the dog a wide berth either; he guesses she's not much of a dog person.

So far it's kinda vague what they can do, as far as he's concerned. Then again, he's always responded best to learning through doing.]

If we're out in the open we've got room to move and we can see more.

[worldhaditsway]

As long as nothing pulls me into the water. [She gives both boys awkward looks.] ...Bad experience.

[...Moving on.] I'm fine with it. If we get trapped, I don't want to accidentally hurt either of you.

[kryptonianclone]

I'm good either way. Doesn't matter to me. [Gives the girl a reassuring smile.] Don't worry about it, I'm pretty tough.

Yeah, me too. And if you do go in the water, we'll just pull you out again, or if you're falling then make enough noise so we can hear. I'm fast, if I can get to you, I'll catch you. If we're gonna be a team, then we're gonna have to trust us to watch each others' backs.

[If he had learnt nothing else from fighting against Aizen all those months ago, it was that you had to believe that someone would be there to catch you when you fell.]

No one gets left behind.

[Christina cracks a smile, the kind of smile you see on starving kids when they've been handed a piece of bread.] Good.

[She takes a breath.] Then let's do this.

[kryptonianclone]

[He nods in agreement with Ichigo.] I'm fast too and have super hearing. Don't worry, we've got you covered. [Conner cracks his knuckles.] Let's kick some robot ass.

No complaints here.

[And then he scratches the back of his neck and glances between Conner and Christina.]

Any objections if I draw the robots out?

None whatsoever. [Right. Focus. She can probably take out any robots that get too close to her by thinking about it. Just don't overdo it, Christina. Problem with being an Antichrist? Doesn't lend itself so well to teamwork.] I'll take the left.
