Summary: Mags is talking to people again. A few people want to see him in person

He'd made appointments with various people. He was going to keep them. But even still, he was looking entirely well. He'd lost a little weight, was tense, and mostly very still. Except his eyes. They never stopped moving.

He was still skittish around people, so it's probably a good thing she didn't fling herself at him, but so he crossed the floor pretty quickly and pulled her against his chest and held her tight.

"Hi there."

He grabbed her and she dropped the duffel at her feet with a dull thud. Her arms slid around him and she frowned. "You haven't been eating again." Neither had she, but whatever. She's not the one under the care of archangels.

"I probably eat more than you." He just wasn't eating enough or drinking as many calories as he had been. Besides, they weren't used to taking care of Humans much less a Mutant. Still, he held on to her tightly.

"I did miss you."

She snorted, still buried in his arms. Because she wasn't moving for a while. "I doubt it. I have a doctor boyfriend that keeps shoving food at me. And, I have been living with Emma."

Point to her.

"Course you did. Who else is as adorable as me?" Meaning: I missed you too.

"They do feed me. And House sends food." He didn't mind. She might notice he was burn hot, even for him, but didn't think it would be a problem. "How is that?" Tenma wasn't a Mutant, after all.

"No one. Glad you're home."

Jubilee sighed and just closed her eyes. "The day I started changing all the security protocols, before Michael came and healed me, I asked Kenzo to come and hang with me." She didn't explain why; she didn't have to. "He got on my case about not taking meds for my pneumonia and not taking care of myself. I... explained quite a few things to him. Because he needs to know."

But not everything. Because she knows better. Because... She's her and you don't give away all your secrets.

"I'm home for a few hours. Have work tonight. Since I'm not giving Raul a reason to get rid of me." Besides, the money was good.

"...you hadn't had the 'Jubilee gives Michael headaches over medicine' talk yet?" Because that was surprising thing there. Especially since her birth control was custom.

"Unohana is stopping by in the afternoon to check on me. I'll probably leave after that." He just. Didn't feel safe enough outside the Archangels' apartment to rest.

Jubilee smiled slightly. "Nope. Told him I was on birth control, but didn't explain it. I don't like talking about it."

She shrugged, still leaning against him. "Especially with doctors. They always insist on running tests and sometimes don't believe me, and it's just a hassle." Innocent look. "Reminds me. I need more birth control."

Smirk.

He laughed softly. "How soon? Might need to get supplies."

Which. Would be interesting. Lucifer would have distract Michael from work or possibly hit a pharmacy with him.

Jubilee frowned. "I've got four or five months left." But, she liked having eight to nine months, just in case. Because you never knew when her supply would run out.

"So, not a panic. Unless you've got some in your lab. I haven't looked in there." Because, hey, she respected boundaries.

"Three down in the lab, yes." Though that was what he wanted to keep in reserve until he replaced his drug supply.

He pressed a kiss against her hair, squeezing her for a second. He had missed cuddling with the kids. "Any big news I missed?"

Jubilee took a deep breath. "Chuck is missing. Think he went home. I spent a night with Sam Winchester, and he's starting to talk to people again. Loki played April Fool's pranks, but I've convinced him to keep pranks out of the house, and I won't interfere."

A frown. Anything else? "Think there's a few things I'm missing, but... I can't think." A shrug. She just needed hugs now. Thanks.

"I next about Chuck and Loki. How's he doing?" Because he had been worried about Sam. A lot.

But hugs he could do. "Want to hole up in the chair in the common room?" A chair-and-a-half plus a fire place. It was a good place to cuddle.

"Yes." Because, seriously, she just wanted to curl up in his lap and stay there.

Once they were settled into the chair, Jubilee just curled up in his lap, her head on his shoulder. "Sam's doing okay. He's been off getting his head straight. He's got a job somewhere and seems to be handling things. Plus, Dean's here, so he's been yelling at Sam."

She shrugged.

He curled up warmly around her, sinking into the chair. He was still tense, alert, but not as wary. "Good, I'm glad. I should...talk to him some time. Soon." But not too soon. There was Castiel to deal with.

"How are you, really?"

"No. You shouldn't." Because, Jesus, Magneto. Did we forget what Castiel said? She hasn't. "Let me be the go-between for a while, okay?"

Because, that was safer. She wasn't Castiel's friend, and she hadn't been threatened with death.

"Me? I'm fine. Needed some time off, that's all."

He shifted - he was fidgety lately, when with those he trusted, rather than so deathly still. "I said talk to, not meet with." Because no, no he hadn't. At all. "Does he know about this?"

"I'm sorry." For dumping this mess on her. He hadn't meant for any of it to happen. He hadn't meant to crack at all.

"I told him what Castiel said. What Crowley said. A few other things." But she didn't go into all of it because that not only wasn't important, but none of Sam's business. Mostly, she'd gone to see him because she could cry in front of him.

She looked up at Magneto and touched their foreheads together. "You don't owe me an apology. Not for having emotions and problems and having them overwhelm you. I don't blame you for that, or for anything, really. I'd like an explanation, when you're up for it."

She didn't blame him.

"What did he say?" Because those boys did know Castiel longer, if not better as well.

He leaned into the touch, being still. "You may not believe so. But..." He sighed slowly. "Everyone is asking for that. No one has asked if I'm up for it yet." He wasn't.

"That he wasn't going to get involved. And Cas has a temper." She shrugged. She didn't need to be told things that she already knew.

Jubilee smiled a bit crookedly. "Yeah? Well, don't give them a damned thing until you're ready. They can sit on it and spin if they don't like it." That included her. She wasn't going to press him into explaining anything. Because she knew what being a mutant meant and knew somewhat of what he was going through. "And if you need a hand to hold when you do talk to them, you know where I live." Because she wouldn't leave him alone, no matter what.

"I've known Castiel has temper for a while. But I'm glad he isn't getting involved." Quite a while. It was pretty clear, to him at least, from the way the angel carried himself.

"Ahiru and I already had a chat, though I didn't tell her much. She doesn't really need to know. Daedalus asked but I told him my lawyer told me not to address the issue." Which is advice he would have given, had Magneto spoken to the man.

"But yes, I'll need it."

Jubilee smiled crookedly. She knew about Castiel. She just didn't care. She wasn't going to ever be his friend. So none of it mattered.

"Good. Frankly, I don't think you owe anyone - beyond me - an explanation." Because she was going to get one just because things had been dumped on her lap, so there. "If you don't want to tell them? I'll back your play, no matter what it is, you know that."

She tucked her head back onto his shoulder because that was what he needed. "But until then... Want a cup of coffee? I'm starving."

The problem was, Magneto did like Castiel. Quite a lot, even with all of this.

"There's a few who won't take that for an answer. Jinx, for instance." Who was a big point of stress in his life.

He held onto her, breathing slowly. Trying to be calm. "Any take away places still deliver here? That Thai place maybe?" He'd rather hold onto her than cook right now.

Jubilee grinned and dug her hand into her coat, offering him the phone. "Speed dial five." Because, she kept them on the phone. No idea when it might be needed. "I'll have the Khao khai chiao and if you ask for Kamon, he'll stop at the one coffee shop and pick up Turkish coffees for the pair of us, and won't charge us extra delivery fees."

Because these things are important. Also, she tips really well.

"There's a reason I love you best." He grinned - really truly grinned - and took the phone, and placed their order. And copied the information into his own NV.

"I'm glad you're home Jubilee."
