Summary: Mags is talking to people again. A few people want to see him in person

He'd made appointments with various people. He was going to keep them. But even still, he was looking entirely well. He'd lost a little weight, was tense, and mostly very still. Except his eyes. They never stopped moving.

Blaine nodded. "I understand," he said. "I never assumed you were hiding or guilty. I just... I didn't really know what was going on. You're alive though, that's what matters to me."

He breathed out softly. "Thank you. And no one really knows. And honestly? My lawyers have just advised me not to discuss it with anyone, period. I pay them too much to ignore them."

He hoped that would mostly be the end of it, with Blaine anyway.

Blaine smiled at that a bit. It was the end of it, for him anyway. As long as Magneto was alive, that was enough.

"Okay," he said. "I'd want you to listen to them too."

"Thank you."

He sank into the chair a but, just a little relieved.

"Have I missed anything with you?"

Blaine shook his head. "Kurt lost his memories," he said after a moment. "He thinks we're still together because of that." It was probably easier to tell the older man these things, to give him something to focus on that wasn't him or what had been accused of him. "It's been a little stressful, but I don't think the Core completely re-set him. I think someone did something to him."

"Has that happened to anyone else?"

He wasn't sure but he hadn't been paying attention.

"Having your memories tampered with is horrible."

Blaine nodded. "A few people. There's a girl who admitted she has the power to mess with memories, but I don't think she was the one who did it. Has the Core ever done anything about that before?"

"I don't think so. Probably someone with powers, either accidentally or on purpose." Because accidents happened with powers.

Blaine nodded. "I think that might be it. He didn't wake up in the baseball field and he still has his scars from this place. I think it's still him, not a new version of him or anything. I'm just worried. Do you know anyone who might have done something like that?"

"I don't, I'm sorry. Has he been around anyone who hasn't figured out what their powers are?" Because that seemed likely to him.

"I don't know. It's possible? I hadn't been as involved in his life as much as I used to."

[magnetic_magpie]

"Something to talk to you friends about." Otherwise, he couldn't really help.

"Anything else? How are you, with-groceries and things until Chuck gets back?" Because children. They needed people to take care of them.

Blaine sighed and shook his head. "I don't know? It depends on how long until he returns. It might become a problem if rent ends up coming due..."

"When is that?" Or really - how long until it becomes a problem.

"The first of the month? But I could go for a bit after that, I think."

"All right. Let me know if there are problems?" Jubilee could send him money or something.

Blaine nodded. "Thank you. I'm trying not to stress out about it. If nothing else I can always move in with Tim. They have a room for me now."

"No, don't stress." He reached over slowly and gently patted Blaine's arm.

Blaine smiled at the touch. "I'll be okay. It's nice to know I can come to you again. I missed you."

"I missed you too. I'm not. I'm not here a lot." He didn't feel safe and he needed more care than he could get here. "But if you text me I can come here."

Blaine nodded. "I will but if you can't for any reason, just tell me. I understand."

"I will. I promise." He wasn't always going to be up to socializing.

"We can both focus on taking care of ourselves, I think."

[magnetic_magpie]

"That's probably best yes." His voice was quiet, subdued. Even this easy conversation was making him tired.

"I think I should probably head back," Blaine said after a moment. "I really wanted just to see you. Unless there's something else you needed to talk about?"
