At the Fairgrounds
Or get pats on the back for a race well flown.
Jubilee/Kenzo
She was also going to ask him a serious question eventually today. Well, a couple of serious questions.
Clinging to his arm, she'd paid their entrance into the fairgrounds and leaned her head against his shoulder. "At least the weather's perfect. Where to first?"

Though, he supposed he had one, now. Something more useful, but less fun. Grinning, he looked at his beautiful, beautiful girlfriend. He was so happy, today. Today was a perfect day.
"It is, isn't it? This is just so cool," He laughed, turning his head a little more and kissing her head. "Um... maybe check out the fliers? Then go on to the people who are flying?"
no subject
"I think the fliers are gathered over that way." She pointed. There was a line of vehicles. "You know, there might be a way to get a flying machine." She grinned up at him and winked. "I might have a line on someone with knowledge."
Pouting at Magneto does wonders, really.

Its a fair weather day, perfect to be out in a light jacket, sun bright, which leaves him with the typical worry that Re-l is neglecting UV protection. There's something in the air- must be pollen, which is making his eyes feel a bit itchy.
Anyone who looks at his ID, or knows of his first name, jokes or questions if he has a son in the winged race - which makes him smile painfully and shake his head, thinking of Monad taking to the skies and leaving him behind, nearly two years ago. Or of Shiroe Rei Seki, who would have adored all of this flying buzz - maybe would have even participated.
So it's with a removed melancholy that he enjoys the grounds, watching as Flying Machines racers go over their last round of inspection by race officials ]

Still, it's nice to see a fellow newcomer in a promising position.]
Ah! You're an entry, then! [The young doctor waves, one hand tucked in his pocket.
And his voice totally doesn't sound like Young!Kevin. Not at all.] Best of luck in the race!(no subject)

Morning || OPEN
The idea of performing in front of such a big crowd was kind of intimidating, but he was sure he could handle it. He just had to concentrate on the actual flying, right?
He spent some of his pre-race time with Miss Nelliel, but she said he could go around on his own, too, as long as he kept his ki high enough for her to sense. Gohan was glad that she was still letting him enter after the whole mess involving the Joker's Easter eggs.
So he was all over the fairgrounds, eating festival foods, watching the other races and cheering for everyone in the races where he knew no one. Because everybody deserved cheers. It was just an all-around awesome day and he was practically bouncing everywhere in anticipation of his time to take to the skies.

"Gohan-san." He was surprised to see the boy here, though he probably shouldn't be. For all he was mature, he was still a boy and distractions such as this would be welcome.
no subject
"Kuchiki-taichou!" Ever so polite, as always. "Hi. I wouldn't have guessed I'd see you here."
And for all his maturity, for all he'd seen and all he was capable of, Gohan was very much still a boy. He could be easily impressed by things he should have been jaded about, by all rights. All these different ways that people had to fly were pretty cool, as far as he was concerned. Yeah, even the machines, though he had absolutely no idea what it was like to need one for something like this.

It sucked.
He stared longingly up at the sky and closed his eyes for a moment. It didn't take much to imagine himself up there again, the wind blowing his hair back or the feeling of it on his back and he free-fell toward the ground. The feeling of only seeing the clear blue sky above him as he did. Up there was where he was born to be.

Mimsy scampered about his feet and stopped to smell EVERYTHING. Because, oh my god daddy all the things! She got herself caught in another dog's leash at one point because she'd been circling the chihuahua and hadn't noticed at all. Kevin had been distracted looking at something, and hadn't noticed until he'd tried to move away. That had been an interesting five minutes of trying to untangle two overly excited puppies.
Except, then she smelled something familiar. Hey! She knew that person! That was a daddy-friend person! She tugged on her leash and dragged Kevin through the crowd. She stopped at Frau's feet and yipped at him, trying to get his attention.
"Oh, hey Frau." Kevin swallowed back another bout of bile. Today... was not a good day to be amongst people, but staying alone in his apartment, seeing that... thing in his mind constantly hadn't been a better option.

"Casper..."
The kid didn't look good at all. In fact, he fit Frau's nickname even more than usual. Granted he looked a bit more green than white, but it still fit.
"What happened?"

OPEN
In response to her approach, two bars lifted to allow her to take a seat and closed when she was seated properly. From there, she synced her systems with that of the cycle and went over each bit of programming again.
OPEN LIKE AN OPEN THING
It didn't help that he kept nodding off to sleep while everyone milled around, though. It was protected, so that no one could steal the prototype, so he wasn't worried about that. He was just worried he'd do something if someone tried to steal from him.

"So, this is it, huh?"

A startled yelp and some flailing arms later, she was still upright and looking apologetically at the woman in front of her. "Oh, ah, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to disturb anyone."

Flying Machines race
And the best part? She could easily avoid anyone that attempted to knock her off course or tried to attack her.]
Under 17 Race
[But, being the good sport that he is, Gohan smiles and introduces himself to some of his competitors, mostly kids in there early/mid teens, it seems. Hardly anyone his age. He gets mixed reactions. Some are just as friendly back, others kind of ignore him, and some just give him dirty looks. He doesn't know why on that last one, really. They're all here to have fun, right? Oh, well.
[He's in his natural form for this; sure, he's faster as a Super Saiyan, but he's wondering if that'd be unfair. So normal form it is. He takes a few stretches to limber up, and eagerly awaits the signal to start.]
