[OPEN LOG] Siren's Port Spring Aerial Races!

Who: OPEN for race competitors & spectators!
When: Sunday, April 15th, all day
Where: Sector 5 Fairgrounds, In the Air, or anywhere around the city you'd like to watch!
Summary: A flying race! Ready your wings, and on your mark, get set...
Warnings: Foul Play? Foul Language? Please note in subject lines!


Schedule of Events:
Fairgrounds Open 8:30 am
Opening Ceremonies 9 am
- Race 1 9:30am - Winged (A majestic and soaring traditional opener to a long day of races!)
- Race 2 11am- Non-Winged
- Race 3 12:30pm - Juniors (Under 17 competitors will fly in this heat. All kids who cross the finish will get a prize bag filled with giveaways from local sponsors.)
- Race 4 - 2:00pm- Flying Machines (Cyborgs sporting booster packs speed alongside a wild collection of build-your-own flying racers. All racers that cross the finish line in one piece will get photographed for the technology museum's archive.)
- Race 5 - 4:00pm Winged+ (Wings and special powers? Sure to be an interesting flight.)
- Race 6 - 5:30pm Non-Winged + (High Powered and exciting, but expected to be a quick race!)
Closing Ceremonies and Winners’ Circle. The fairgrounds stay open for celebrations till 7:30.

Hinamori was hopping along the rooftops, looking for a good place to sit and watch the events. Her eyes were more on the racers overhead than the edges of the buildings she was leaping between, and she didn't see Death until it was almost too late to keep from falling on top of her.

A startled yelp and some flailing arms later, she was still upright and looking apologetically at the woman in front of her. "Oh, ah, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to disturb anyone."

Death wasn't expecting someone to fall on her, but then, it wasn't like it hurt much. Her popcorn went up in the air, and her cotton candy went into her hair, but she still laughed.

"It's okay! Don't worry! Want some cotton candy once I get it out of my hair?"

"Ah, no, that's okay! I wouldn't want to take yours away from you. I can buy my own later. But, here let me help you." She tried her best to clean up the mess she'd made. "I really am sorry; I d-didn't expect anyone else to be up on the rooftops."

"I think it's a little too hairy to eat, now," Death laughed, pulling some blue and pink out of her hair. After checking it, she shrugged, sticking it in her mouth anyway.

"Don't worry about it! But, since you're trying to make it up to, why don't you sit on the roof with me? We can watch the races together. This is the best spot for it, after all. That's why you came up here, right?"

Hinamori laughed in return. "It is!" She smiled and plucked another piece of cotton candy from Death's hair. "A little pink and blue suits you, I think."

She hopped herself onto the edge of the roof and sat down. "I'm Hinamori! It's nice to meet you."

"Really? I was thinking of changing up my style, a little. Good to know that I can wear pink and blue!" She grinned, picking another piece out of her hair and popping it in her mouth.

"Nice to meet you, Hinamori! I'm Didi," Th wind blew through her hair for a moment, small pieces of fluff flying out of it. "Have you ever seen anything like this? The race, I mean."

"No! It's really amazing. Everyone at home is so serious all the time; organizing an event like this is such a major undertaking—I don't know who would do it." Hinamori's voice was childlike, happy and carefree. The wonder was evident in her eyes as she watched the racers circle past.

"I think the city does it. They have a lot of time to plan things like this, so I guess that's why they don't do it elsewhere," Didi smiled, watching the racers go by, the whirring sound of engines, wings, and the lights blinking on and off all loud.

"They're so fast!"

"Mmhm! You can hardly see them!" Hinamori squinted against the bright sky. She looked to see if she could tell who was who, but their speed made them mostly blurs of color. "Do you know anyone who's in the races?"

"Not personally. I've met some of the citizen ones, before, but there's just so many people here! I can't even tell which one is which," Death said, leaning back on her arms. "Do you know any of them?"

"Yeah, well, kinda— I've talked to her on the NV, and I know she's racing here today. Her name's Rainbow Dash. She's a pony. And she can change the weather!" Hinamori put her hand up to shade her eyes. "There she is! See? With the rainbow tail?" She yelled a cheerful scream and waved vigorously, even though the pony seemed to be waiting for her race to start and probably couldn't see her.

"Oh, really? That sounds great!" Death said with excitement, looking up into the sky. "There she is, oh, wow!"

She moved up a little, waving her hands as well as she let out a cheer. "Go Rainbow Dash! Go, go, go!"
