The Newcomer Business Convention
Who: EVERYONE EVER. OOC coordination post is over here
When: April 20-23, all day.
Where: Somewhere around the Newcomer Community Center.
Summary: Violet Systems gives Newcomer Businesses a chance to shine at a convention of their own. Exhibitors from all industries, as well as fellow newcomers looking for job opportunities are welcome! Also-- there will be a big MAN protest on Saturday.
Warnings: Nothing yet.
Visitors who stop by the great white tent that had gone up near the Newcomer Community Center will first notice a large LED sign before the entrance with a detailed list of participating exhibitors as well as activities for the day. Saturday - Grand MAD Protest
open like an open thing
Hinamori spins on a dime. Her face cycles through disbelief (as she touches the back of her hair, covered as it is with sticky sugar) then anger, then a flash of pity (for these poor people so afraid of Newcomers they'll resort to this), then back to anger. Righteous, indignant anger.] How— how dare you! How can you call yourself a mother? Is that any way to set an example for your children?
[Her voice draws the attention of the protesters nearby, who flock eagerly towards an obvious target. This could get ugly.]
[ooc: back her up, calm her down, point and laugh— it's all good by me!]

However, it seems there is trouble right away, and he is not hesitant to act. Murmuring a polite 'excuse me' even as the man pushes his way though to get to the drenched woman. A hand comes down onto her shoulder, and Angeal leans in to keep his words to her.]
Let's get inside, they won't listen to reason. [Angeal will guide Hinamori, if she will let him, heading to the nearest end of the crowd and then ushering her inside as quickly as possible.]
no subject
[Once they're inside, she has the common courtesy to offer up a smile.] Thank you. [The emotion in her voice is sincere. For more than just guiding her inside—she knows that sometimes she loses her self-control, and she appreciates that he was able to get her to back down.]

Angeal takes his hand off her shoulder once they are inside, returning the smile with one of his own, concern in his look.] It was no problem, are you alright? [She looks pretty soaked, and he isn't sure there was much he could do about that, but-] I can see if I can round you up a shirt or something.
no subject
Thank you, that would be very kind of you.
I'm Hinamori, by the way.
no subject
[Well, that was a better reaction than an angry one, though she had every right to be.] Angeal Hewley, I'm sorry about what happened, Hinamori.

[She pulls the bun cover off of her head and lets her hair fall to her shoulders, wringing out the little cloth rather angrily.]

[His booth is actually nearby, close to the exit because he usually has an animal or two with him. The puppies will come in later today with one of the others- but with this mob, he will likley just have to call that off.]
Here. [He pulls out the SECURITY shirt Sephrioth had given him before the event just in case, one that would obviously be too big on her, but it was dry, at least.] I haven't worn this yet, so feel free to use it however you need.
puppies? *.* can there be puppies when she comes back to return the shirt?
[She walks down to the nearest bathroom to assess the situation. The back of her dress is pretty soaked, and riding up uncomfortably. She holds the shirt up to herself and decides that it's just big enough to cover her, though perhaps a bit short. Washing out her hair and her dress at the sink, she realizes a bit too late that she's nonetheless in no condition to go around walking at a convention.
She exits the restroom, carrying her still-damp dress in her arms. The shirt hangs on her like an oversized tunic, and she tugs uncomfortably at the hem of it. It had looked longer before she put it on.] I think... I should probably go home and get cleaned up before I come back. I'll bring your shirt back to you—will you be here later?
Sure! The perks of working at the pound xD
You don't have to bring it back, but I will be here for the rest of the event. My booth is over there. [He indicates the booth with the banner overhead for the Caregood pound.]
Just be careful out there, alright? Do you want me to call someone in to escort you out?

[When she returns about an hour later, she's cleaned up, hair still a bit damp from a shower. She finds Angeal at his booth and hands him the shirt, wrapped in a plastic bag.] I made it back in one piece!
no subject
[There is barking behind him, and he shifts to scoop up a puppy that has escaped the playpen is booth partner hasn't quite set up yet where a few puppies are running around excitedly.]
Ah, no runaways this time.
