Entry tags:
I could use a fresh beginning, too
Who: The Striders and anybody coming to visit them over the first week of sickness
When: Wednesday, May 16th to possibly around the 23rd
Where: The Strider apartment
Summary: Bros get sick together. Catch-all log post for guilt plague at the Strider apartment: will include movies, feelings jams, and lots of babying.
Warnings: Almost certainly language, and definitely gross sickie stuff.
[It hits Davesprite first. A little dizzy, a little stuffed up, but obviously it's not a big deal (even if he didn't know sprites could get sick--should he be worried?) so he just shrugs it off like it ain't no thing. Probably serves him right for picking random shades off the ground, who knows whose weird gaunt face those things have touched?
And then it doesn't get better.
Better is a thing it spectacularly fails to get.]
[[OOC: Will be posting comments for different days/events below, not necessarily in chronological order because not necessarily everything has been plotted out yet! Make sure you add your character to the tags when you tag in. And let me know on AIM or Plurk (asherdashery on both) if you want in on any of this.]]

[Davesprite makes sure to get a big sniff in before he goes to answer the door. No need to make Ahiru worry, Striders are too cool to get sick. He lets her in and nods.]
Hey. Sup.
[Sniff.
Dammit.]

Do you need a tissue?
no subject
[He closes the door and drifts on over to the living room, where he'd thrown the movie on the couch earlier. He picks it up.]
You ready for Intro to American Culture 101?
no subject
[...But then she stops talking because she's dumb and didn't actually mean to say that out loud.]
I don't think you could be allergic. But yeah, I'm ready!
no subject
Okay, get yourself a seat. You can start on the popcorn, too, if you want.
[He gestures over his shoulder at the corner of the couch, where a bag of microwave popcorn is cooling.]
no subject
It looks really good! Thanks for making it.
no subject
[He presses play, gets up and flops onto the other side of the couch, sinking down low to get comfortable. After a moment, he glances at Ahiru.]
You know how to use a microwave, right? Someone taught you since 1914?
no subject
[She sticks out her tongue for a moment before laughing lightly.]
Yeah, of course I know how! Dad taught me.
no subject
Your dad's here with you?
no subject
[She tilts her head to the side for a moment, before blinking.]
Oh, no! I mean, we aren't related by blood or anything. He's my legal guardian.
[She turns her attention to the screen.]
What's this part?
no subject
[He sniffs and waves at the screen.]
This is the part where the government tells you they'll hunt you down and skin you if you make so much as a cent off their property.
no subject
Are you sure you don't need a tissue?
no subject
no subject
[Despite her words, she turns her head back towards the screen, curious.]
no subject
[He jams his hands in his hoodie pockets and slides down more as the movie starts.]
no subject
[She looks pretty panicked for a minute before she settles down into the couch, mimicking his movement.]

--Damn, I should've told you it was a flu that turned people into birds.
no subject
[She giggles.]
No, that would've been mean!
no subject
Yeah, you can catch things from animals. That's how people get rabies and zombie viruses and stuff.
[They are paying so much attention to this movie. That's okay, it's the boring part before he learns karate anyway.]
no subject
[They're good at attention spans.]
no subject
You don't know what a zombie is?
no subject
no subject
Nah, it's like a genetically engineered bioweapon gone wrong or something. Scientific fact.
