Well, I don't know if all that's true, 'cause you got me and baby, I got you...
Who: Gabriel, Jinx, and their friends and family.
When: Friday the 13th, before sirens.
Where: A park that has been shamelessly borrowed for this event.
Summary: JINX AND GABRIEL ARE GETTING MARRIED.
Warnings: Schmoop.
[Friday the 13th is a day of preventing bad luck from finding you- and it will find you, somehow. But for an unlucky little lady who has been a staple of Siren's Port for a few years, it's her luckiest day, so what better day for her wedding?
A small park has been rented for the occasion with a combination of Jinx's charms and her pocketbook and it's really anyone's guess which one won out. Lines of chairs form the aisles, draped in purple, black, green, and offset by red roses everywhere. Rather than a carpet for the bride to walk down, the grass seems to be covered in a blanket of soft rose petals.
Let's just say if you wanted roses today, you're out of luck.
The reception area stands off to the side, offset by dozens upon dozens of ice swans and... for some reason a living elephant also decked in purple and black. Jinx wanted one. The zoo obliged. The end.
And where there should be an organ, there's a harpist. The groom, standing up at the front of the makeshift altar with the king of Hell on his left and a Prophet of the Lord at his right, looks as smug as the cat who caught the canary- or, more appropriately, the canary who charmed the cat- and despite the few stage whispers of "Yes, Chuck, it's too late to make this a Jewish wedding", all is well.
And when the harpist starts playing "Stairway to Heaven," it begins.]

2/2 sobbing
[He chuckles slightly, grip tightening on the mic.] It's the kind of over-the-top panache I've only ever really seen in those two.
That's the thing, though- you might recognize the mustache and penchant for the dramatic anywhere, but to someone who really knew him from back home, the man sitting here- [Gesturing to Gabriel on his left] -is practically a stranger.
[He addresses the crowd once more, really getting into the swing of it. There's an earnest sincerity to his words that suggests that, though they have been rehearsed, what he's saying is in no way fake.]
It's not because he's sitting down and behaving himself for the first time in years. [He pauses for laughter.] It's not even the idea of him staying in one place for more than five minutes. It's that- for the first time in maybe his whole life, he's actually happy.
[He can't hide the smile fighting its way onto his face, and it's only by an abuse of His own godly power that he hasn't teared up yet. It's weird for the best man to cry- but it's hard to cry without tear ducts.]
I've known him for over a year, since the day I came here, but we knew of each other for years before that. Part of being a prophet. And part of that is that I've seen a lot- I've seen suffering and war, life and triumph, the lives of heroes- and yeah, even of angels. Angels in our world aren't exactly wings and halos and fluffy white clouds- but most of you already know that, huh. What you might not know is that there are thousands of angels from our world, but they all have something in common- the toughest hand I think I've ever seen life deal anyone.
But I saw him today- and that kind of happiness is something I've never seen before. Not in him. Maybe not in anyone from our world. I know he's more content to be here than anyone else I know in the Port.
I've known Gabriel for a long time, and Jinx since day one. In the past year they've both grown as people in ways that are hard to really appreciate unless, I imagine, you knew them both before. Unfortunately, I never got to know Jinx before she was with Gabriel, but if she and Gabriel have as much in common as they showed us today- I'm willing to bet she's changed, too.
Crowley decided to skip that part of the ceremony, but if anyone ever had a reason to object- [He shakes his head slowly.] -All I'd say to them is that Jinx is the first person who ever made an angel happy enough to do something sentimental like taking a chance on forever. She gave him a home, and he did the same exact thing for her- a home strong enough to last through the most terrible tragedy imaginable. And they're still here. Together.
[Chuck finally picks up his glass of champagne and holds it out.]
So let's raise our glasses to them, and the hardships they've faced. To the good times they've had, to the sickness and the health we've watched them see each other through, to the people they were, the pasts they've outgrown, the future they have, and to the present that they only ever could have found with each other.
To them.
[And, without the slightest trace of shyness about the amount of unmanly Feelings he just spouted everywhere, he raises his glass to toast.]

Then first thing he gets is punched in the arm. She punches hard.]
That's for making me cry in public!
[Then he gets her arms wrapped around him and her lips against his cheek.]
...and that's for everything else.
no subject
Except he blushes at the kiss and hugs her back, taking a second to be surprised before he adjusts her grip and gives her a real hug, like a pro.]
I meant every word. [Have a very light, scruffy kiss on the cheek back.]
