[closed] mother told me, yeah she told me, I'd meet girls like you
Who: Dean, Syrena, and maybe Sam a little later.
What: Dinner, a show, and a sleep over.
Where: A sushi joint and an old fashioned club thing.
Warnings: IDK. Don't think so.
[True to his word Dean pulls up in the truck as close to the pier as he can get because he knows Syrena's not gonna want to walk very far.
He leaves the truck and keeps the keys in his hand. He's got some clothes from Buffy and some flip flops under the other room.]
Fins? You around?

[Dean pulls the wrapper off until it was on the tip, put the plastic in his mouth and shot it at her with a puff of air before sticking it in his drink, a grin on his face.]
I stick to the stuff you find on land, but that doesn't mean I don't like it. Just don't usually get it.
[Gas station fish sandwiches weren't really something you could trust and he tried to go through Long John Silver's when he could but that wasn't very often.]
no subject
I will catch you a fish.
[It's said very seriously. She'll catch him whatever he wants. It's not hard for her, after all.]
What is that, in the drink?
no subject
It's called a straw. Helps you drink without gettin' any on yourself. I'm not crazy about 'em but I figured I'd give you some tips.
[He brings the straw to his lips and sucks some of the cherry coke up into his mouth. He swallows.]
Your turn.
no subject
It was sweet and bubbly. Completely new.]
It bubbles in my throat.
no subject
Besides the bubbles what do you think?

[Dean leans forward and takes another sip out of his own glass, reaching over to touch her wrist.]
You're okay with all this right? I just wanna be sure. Since you're not gonna make it back to the ocean until morning.
no subject
...I will admit that I am not sure what to expect, but I will be okay. You are kind to me.

He pulls his hand back when the platter gets sat down in front of them, with two paper bound chop sticks on either side for them to use.]
Thanks.
[He gives the waitress a wink and she walks away feeling pretty pleased with herself. He's still got it.
Dean glances down at the platter and the variety of fish rolled into rice and seaweed and his brows lift.]
I don't even know the names of all these.
no subject
When the platter is set before them, Syrena immediately eyes it curiously. It smells like fish, but it certainly doesn't look like fish. Naturally, she's a bit skeptical.]
This is fish? Are you sure?
no subject
[Dean doesn't seem convinced but he picks up a California roll and pops it into his mouth using his hands and completely ignoring the chopsticks.]
Okay, your turn.
no subject
Clearly, she likes it, for it doesn't take her long to reach for another.]
no subject
Told you it was good. You need to have more faith in me.
no subject
I have faith. [She countered when her mouth was free, pausing before placing another piece of sushi past her lips.] If I did not would I be here right now?
no subject
[He grins to an extent where she can see them, but it's clear he's just making fun of himself.]
no subject
I like your smile.
no subject
Thanks.

[After a few seconds and a few more pieces of sushi Dean reaches out and touches her wrist again.]
Don't stare too long it'll hurt your eyes.
no subject
I like light. [She began, explaining.] Man made light. One of my treasures is a flashlight from two humans who were foolish in their swimming and all that was left was their feet in things called flippers.
[She doesn't know it's not appropriate dinner talk, but she is quick to add-]
I did not kill them. I found their feet and their flashlight. It does not work anymore though, for it needs new batteries. Dean, where can I find batteries?
[And she's totally serious about this. It's important. Real important.]
no subject
[He shrugs a shoulder.] So, what? Do you go around inheriting everything that gets left behind by darkness victims?
no subject
[She seems content enough with that answer.]
I go hunting for treasures. There are many, strange things to be found at the bottom of the sea near the docks and around the island. I have a collection.
[Remember the little mermaid's hoarding issues? Seems it's a species thing.]
no subject
[Dean holds out a roll of sushi for her to try. He'd just finished chewing one of the same kind.]
You've gotta try this one.
no subject
[And oh hey look, food. She takes it and puts it in her mouth immediately. Mmm. Good choice after all.]
no subject
[He pushes his way out of the table and walks over to the waitress. He flirts his way into being able to take the rest home in a heavy duty container and a thick paper bag. He's not risking any getting in the truck. He just got it yesterday. Dean packages the stuff up pretty quick, leaving one for Syrena to eat on the way out and then rolls up the bag and drops it to his side.]
C'mon, angelfish, we need to bail if we wanna make the show on time.
