Halloween Masquerade Ball

Who: The Newcomer Political Party and The Newcomers!
When: October 27th, 7:00pm till Morning Sirens.
Where: The Newcomer Community Center
Summary: Time for some Halloween Masquerade Fun!
Warnings: Anything is possible!

The Community Center has been transformed into a sophisticated autumn dance hall, with bits of Halloween decorations around the room. When the door opens, you find yourself in the hall before the main room, someone ready to take your coat, if you have one, and another ready to give out bracelets. That way no one who shouldn't be drinking won't be able to.



The dance floor is surrounded by a number of small, round tables, each with an elaborate centerpiece of cobwebs. There are lights within the hanging decorations, with draped fabric over the sides, to give it a more close knit feeling. At the head of all the tables is a bar serving free drinks and cocktails to anyone over age. There is also a buffet



And then, of course, there is the dance floor, where people are dancing to the music supplied by two talented DJs, lights blinking and the room ready for everyone to have a good time.



Last call for food is two hours before sirens, and then the last call for drinks is an hour before the party finishes. You might want to be careful when it gets to be that time, though. Around 1:00 am, the party is going to change, due to a series of unfortunate events. You may not be very hungry or thirsty for awhile after.

[If he's seen her in the hospital, she can't place him. In a constant haze of morphine, she can't remember much of her time there before Jesse found a competent enough healer. Through her dark eye make-up, she stares at him.]

What about it?

[He hadn't come in person, wary of Raphael's watch over Mary and not wanting anything to do with John, but he'd cast his senses out to take a look from afar. He stares back at her, adjusting a sleeve.]

She is a friend of mine, from my world. I am curious about those she knows.

[hejhej]

[She watches his wings once more and takes a swig of her beer. Lisbeth holds it on her lap as she looks back at him.]

Then, yes, I am.

What is your name?

[That's a good place to start with socializing, right?]

[hejhej]

[Should she even bother at this point? If she didn't tell him her real name, he'd find it out eventually from Mary most likely.]

Lisbeth. You?

Castiel.

[His wings adjust against his back, though he doesn't seem to notice them at all.]

Have you been at the Port for long?

[hejhej]

[She watches his wings again before responding.]

Since March.

[ofthursday]

That is not particularly long.

[As far as Castiel's concerned anyway; he's been in the Port for almost a year and a half.]

[hejhej]

[But it still felt like she'd just landed on the baseball diamond yesterday. Her one year anniversary here was approaching.]

What's Mary's home like?

[ofthursday]

[Castiel considers for a moment how to answer this, wings tucking in a bit tighter as he does so, because none of the answers are really good. Mary is dead, in their world, so she really doesn't have a home, and the answer for their world in general isn't much better.]

Our world is a difficult place.

[That's honest, without saying too much specifically.]

Normal difficult or Siren's Port difficult?

For most of us, it is more peaceful here.

[She visibly scoffs.]

Your home sounds like a picnic. You know John Winchester then?

[ofthursday]

I met John only while here.

[And he tries to avoid him whenever possible for so many reasons.]

[hejhej]

So you've met Mary only while here.

[ofthursday]

Yes. I am friends with her sons.

[hejhej]

[There's a slight pause before she responds.]

Dean's a dumbass.

[ofthursday]

[Not long ago, he might've bristled at the comment, but instead he just gives a small sigh.]

He can be, when he desires.

[He loves Dean, but the hunter can definitely be a dumbass.]

[hejhej]

What about the other one? I don't know much about him.

[ofthursday]

Sam.

[And he goes quiet, a bit, because his experience with Sam is so varied. He cares deeply for the younger Winchester as well, and the Sam that's been in the Port most recently is very much the Sam of home that he remembers, but the Sam that was here before... Everything had gone so terribly wrong, and Castiel's relationship with Sam in general is still influenced by it, perhaps unfairly.

But there are some things that are very clear.]

He is kind. Understanding. He can be as difficult as Dean if he desires, however.
